Oh wow getting laid off sounds brutal, one day everything is fine you have a great job that you love, the next day it's all gone and you have to figure out what's next. I hope you got a nice severance at least, best of luck in whatever comes next!
Hey I really your content I’m a 17 year old aspiring game developer and RUclipsr you inspired me to do art in my recent game I usually do programming. I hope you push through your problems
Hello, I appreciated this video a great deal. I am a therapist by day but make games as a hobby on nights and weekends. I really hope you are able to turn this into a career and that you keep making stuff that brings you joy. I hope you have a great next week and I will plan on joining your game jam in August. :)
Loved your video! Your journey after being laid off is truly inspiring. It's amazing to see how you've embraced this new chapter in your life with such positivity and determination. Pursuing content creation and game development is a brave decision, and I have no doubt that you're going to excel in both. Hosting a game Jam is such a cute and wholesome idea! I can't wait to see the incredible games that will come out of it. Keep spreading joy through your videos and sharing your love for game development. Remember, you're not alone on this path, and there's a whole community cheering you on. Wishing you all the success and happiness in the world. Looking forward to your next adorable video! Keep shining brightly! 🌟💖
Terribly sorry to hear that you got laid off Emily. That is just ins't right one bit. The way they did that to ya is just plain ruthless smdh. But anyways welcome to the indie dev life let's grind this indie road together. Wishing ya the best.
Not sure why your video got recommended, but maybe google read the message from my boss saying I'm no longer employed because they can't afford to pay their employees. The very best to you on your journey
So excited for the game jam. I have recently started learning game dev, and it's so overwhelming. Making group projects, especially in game jams will be a hell lot of beneficial in learning than doing small projects like flappy bird clone.
Although heartbreaking you were laid off, it’s inspiring to see you refuse to let life get you down and pursue your interests with focus and intent. I truly do see you becoming a household name between your sense of humor, video structure, and presentation in your content. Best of luck to you, you’re doing amazing!
Yes! I would be so up for a game jam! I can see your hard work and dedication. You are making your own job as an indie game dev. It's hard, I know, but keep going 👏🏾
hiii hi hi! i was also recently laid off and it was, like you mentioned cold and ruthless. to think that i spent days thinking of the perfect way to quit (i was planning to do it eventually!) in a way that wouldnt hurt anyone/my seniors... but i was literally just tossed aside like garbage... it was quite hurtfu anyway, thats not the point of this comment.. I also recently got into game dev and wanted to say that I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!! i discovered it while looking for tutorials and cozy games specifically! and its a delightful sunny corner on the internet for me! :) good luck with your games and future!
@@sonderingemily my idea is to make a little dating game where you can choose to have a date with 3 witches, and each will have 2 or 3 "endings" (like an illustration and some text) depending of the answers you pick I also thought about doing 2 secrets endings if you click on some objects where you can either date them all at once or date no one lmao Might be too ambitious so I might have to do some changes but I should be able to do it in powerpoint, it would just have a looot of slides!

That's what corporations do - they don't care about our feelings in the end. And so, an employee should never overwork themselves for the corpo.
