this project can cut wood and metal by changing its blade to abrasive, circular saw can withstand cutting metal. i love how its done but the full plan for this project is not yet done, the clamping for the object that should be removable when cutting long wood, and the self retractable blade safety guard.

You could have added some protection for the linear bearing, all the cutting dust is going to the bearings & in very short time, the bearings would get jammed...

Really nice work mate. You need to install a dust and spark shield around your bear housing in my opinion. With all the dust and metal flying into the bear housing they want last very long. Just my opinion. Have a great day.

Very well done, but you need to put a guard on it - that spinning blade with no brake on, it is not something you would like to get your hand in to by accident.
I've added exactly the same comment in one of his videos for a Chainsaw cutter... @sek Austria: you build good designs man, just make them a bit safer. It wouldn't be nice to see a new video of yourself lacking a hand...

Yeah without a guard, and springs that don’t only offset the weight but raise the saw, It is a spring loaded super kickback machine.

As usual mate great work on the build but i agree with James those slides will not last well with that amount of particulate shooting up it's pooper. Also if it's a multi-material saw you might want to use a method of variable speed drive so you can dial down your metal cutting speed.

Excellent build, the front right bearing won't last long though, it needs protection, keep doing the videos they are excellent. You are very ingeious.

Are your abrasive discs rated for that speed?
@UCXJrxp7b4SQFq4YiluVArmg not for the metal cutting he isn't. It's an abrasive disc that says maxco on it. Also look at the sparks. Carbide discs don't do that they just produce swarf or 'chips'
