From the look of the guard on that saw, it was designed for cutting metal. That means it spins slower than saws for wood and the guard contains the chips.
If you put expensive, carbide-tipped metal cutting blade on wood cutting saw you will dull the blade after just few cuts. If you insist on testing that statement, wear good protection for eyes and skin - hot, sharp chips will be flying everywhere as the saw designed for cutting wood will not contain the chips.

This is a nice chop saw. I use these things. They cut good, but they all are a bit dodgy cutting angles. This one looks good. Time to mass produce and sell !

When I first started watching I thought ok..rocket ship? I watched your welding, just like mine...LOL
Wood cutting saws tend to have a lot of plastic in them, cutting steel with such a saw will result in the plastics melting or catching fire. This video is about converting a circular saw that was designed to cut METAL (Hitachi CD7 metal cutting circular saw), into a chop saw that continues to cut metal just the way it was designed to. The video is about changing a hand-held metal saw into a mounted one. This video does NOT contain any kind of instructions to reduce the speed of a wood cutting circular saw, nor is it feasible to convert a wood-cutting saw into a metal cutting one. The speeds are (Less than half) approximately 3800RPM for a 10" wood cutting saw and 1500RPM for a 10" metal cutting saw.
This is an iron cutting saw, not a wood cutting. Check out the videos I used to cut iron. It cuts very well
