If there was a middle ground between these and weaponiser it'd be spot on for me. Like, weaponisers are neat but when I attach them to figures it just looks like they have bits of stuff hanging off them randomly rather than another robot/vehicle becoming armour and weapons for them. I suppose the more integrated they get though the more they'll only fit certain figures.
If there's one complaint I have about WfCT and Legacy it's the lack of ports on the front. You can kinda finagle armour onto some bots by plugging it into their back and hanging it around their necks but it's visibly wonky
I think i'm the only one who got a g1 battletrap vibes from the design of megatron with thr spark armour, especially that color scheme and desig of the spark armour
@@SuperMookles well, the g1 duocons and battlechargers feels like some stupid knockoffs you find in your local store, but the duocons gets better in power of the primes/wfc siege
@@bilal_H907 oh totally. Unfortunately I've only ever owned the originals. It was very disappointing, as a child, to discover that they have pretty much zero articulation and can't raise their arms forward, particularly as they have guns. Nicer alt-modes though.
I wish the Spark Armours themselves were more in the aesthetic of the characters they are packed with. Who has ever said "Yeah a battleship was something that was missing from Bumblebee's character"
I can believe that hasbro missed out on a cyberverse battleship spark armor megatron set, it would've been a homage to megatron (armada) and Tidal wave.
This oddly got uploaded the same day I saw Tiny Turbo Changers in a store for the first time, got two and they were pretty fun, much better cyberverse figures than the one I already have and made me a bit more interested in it because of that. So you are basically a psychic for uploading this, lol.
Definitely seems like some of the smaller spark armor figures came out better. Either way the price of these things at launch was way too high, though that thankfully seems to not be much of a problem anymore.
I cannot understand why these are SO EXPENSIVE! They look like toys that should only cost a few dollars at most, but they always seem to cost more than Studio Series or Leader Class Transformers. They are just too expensive for what you get. Great review!
From a strictly design standpoint these were wild. The kid friendly main line is sadly where it seems the majority of the boundary pushing design choices are going to live from now on, with the more adult collector oriented lines like Legacy now totally giving up with ghost to be slavishly, monotonously, G1/Niche Comic gimmick free snore fests. It's just a real bloody shame that these in particular are such horrendous garbage. Even for 15 bucks less they would feel over priced.
Just bought my first Transformer since I was fourteen - which was a very, very, long time ago. Hound, the first Transformer I ever bought (based solely on me liking the robot picture on the box). I blame this channel entirely. Soundwave next, I think, if I’m going to desperately attempt to revisit my childhood I might as well do it in the same order as back then…
I actually liked the Spark Armor Cheetor just as a standalone, very svelte Cheetor figure. And the Grimlock was entirely kibbleless in robot mode, which impressed me. The boat looks stupid and the garbage truck's springs keep trying to pop it back into shape though. So, yeah. There's a reason I bought only those two, and passed on Ops and Megs.
I wasn't huge fan of these, too expensive for what you get, and felt like little more than the stuff you get "fee" on comics. I did eventually get them as bonus items in a trade, and... yeah, cheap Action Masters, great. But they're £6 toys at *best*
Gavin, you missed a golden opportunity to make a joke about these lads wearing the season's best fashions, Megs is all awhirl in that off mauve number but Prime's all grey ensemble is just plane flat!
I am not into _Cyberverse_ by any stretch. They were both shelf-warmers in my area for a reason. That said, I almost picked up these two. _Almost._ Gimme some Energon armor and weapons any day, but single-piece vehicle-formers is just asking for "compromise" at every level; just ask _RotF_ Leader-class Jetfire how _that one_ turned out.
The only spark armor toy I got was Shockwave and the only reason that happened is I didn't see the price until checkout. He's a great lad, the satellite makes for a sick super mode, but I'll be fucked if he was worth 20+ dollars or whatever I paid
i got the shockwave of these as a gift from a friend, i think he’s probably the best of the range. it helps that i didn’t have to blow thirty fuckin cad on em
i think i have the bumblebee one. i got it super cheap at one of those discount stores where everything is opened or broken. i kept the bumblebee figure and threw the armor part in the trash. i figured since it was a garbage truck thats where it belonged. im pretty sure it was about a dollar so it was worth it
I’ve never really had an interest in cyberverse, and these are really why, too much gimmick, not enough fun. I feel the parts count should be better balanced between the robot and the gimmick, but it’s so daft if I could get them for $10 I’d love to add them to my shelves haha.
These look very disappointing, the robot mode is fine, but the transformation is just disappointing, not to mention the spark armor. The armor, I get was made for kids, but why make 1 step? 1 step to me is both pure laziness and I don’t even consider it a true transformer, I would prefer if the spark armor was a separate transformer and you could take em apart to make Optimus Prime or Megatron bigger and better. The only positive thing I like about spark armor is the head mold for Optimus and the little Morningstar hand for Megatron
Hearing you try to find some positivity in these toys you clearly hate was fun. Prefer a review with a happy Gav enjoying his toys but sometimes you get served a stinker.
it's kind of funny that the fandom has made fun of action masters for decades through missing the point of them and hasbro has managed to make something that is the same gimmick of adding things to articulated g1 tf action figures but made them worse in almost every way.

That Megatron’s alt mode looks like a fan-mode, but I do like the colors of his combined mode! He feels very Galvatron-y!
I got a Jetfire with a little tank that you split up into his armour and that one is very good, it looks like the Cyberverse Jetfire too....
Anyone else say "Awwww" when they saw Megs & Prime looking like they're holding hands?

Respect for the shoutout to Goro, Prince of the Shokan
that mention of Goro just reignited my Mortal Kombat hyperfixation for half a second

Megatron with the fighter jet also feels like it could be a combiner/fusion of him and Starscream.
I had forgotten that these existed. Thank you Gavin for reminding me, -- and I mean that sarcastically.

It's absolute tat but I cannot lie the Jetwing spinning into place made me squeal with glee
Honestly wasn’t expecting the armors to be swappable. I’d these toys were any good that’d be a really cool gimmick.

YES!!! CYBERVERSE!!! I miss cyberverse already...
Megatron: PRIME!
Prime: MEGATRON!
Megatron: My armor sucks!
Prime: Mine too!
Both: Swappsies?
*disappointment continues.
The Skybyte version of these was great if for nothing else than I finally had a Skybyte figure.
I was expecting that Spark Armor gimmick to last at least half the season but it only appeared for a few episodes.
laughed to hard....these reviews are done quick. also ughhhh can you swap the armors? oh wait you answered t. i should wait to type shouldnt i? na

Phew, dodged a bullet there! 😉
These look like the "Trasform attack robot" hideous knock-offs I saw in an Italian pharmacy last week.
That Megatron is not so bad, I actually like the color and how it reflects the light and--1:19--GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN!!!!
Megatron is my favourite of the two.
That truck is still better looking than the cab of Kingdom Ultra Magnus which had the audacity to cost €60.

alright but can you swap the armors?????
