IMO this deck is already fairly rogue playable due to the consistency at which it makes the same board with numerous 2-card combos, the 2 OCG support cards will probably not tier it but they will be a great push
I know some compare Ashened to War Rock, but this is only because they are a tcg exclusive archetype and if tcg exclusives aren't tier 0, they are War Rock (it's a surface level comparison and not app is my point). Honestly, I think Beetrooper is a better comparison when it comes to tcg exclusives. They're both pretty consistent and grindy, but their endboards are the biggest problem. Insects have gotten better, but pyros still lack monsters to end on. And before you bring up Snake-eyes...how many pyros do they end on? Exactly. Having locks into pyros make sense lorewise, but Konami really needs to make more big pyro monsters to end on(if only because Dragons, Warriors, Spellcasters, etc have enough variety).
My theory is, OCG Konami doesn't want TCG to make the archetypes too busted. If they do, people won't buy their busted product. So everything must be tuned down until the OCG gives that archetype the support that the TCG could have just printed instead. Tin hat theory but I don't see why TCG just can't make a competitive archetype from the get-go anymore.
@@YourWaterBoii I doubt that, cause they are ultimately one company, so doing that doesn't really make sense and the way the market works in the first place is based off of scarcity. It is more indirect. More than likely it is just because of a combination of past sins and the fact that tcg-exclusives are a limited resource when compared to the ocg. So it kinda scares them into playing it too safe. We don't really know though, maybe the tcg just gets excited about telling a story through their cards (which I think they are better than the ocg at doing) and ignore things like whether the effect estriction is worth it
@@JABRIEL251From what I heard, TCG and OCG are separated into departments and those departments lack good communication with each other which would make the most sense towards why TCG doesn't make very well-done exclusive archetypes anymore.
@@jvsonic2468 I mean, that's probably true that they don't communicate much, but that's honestly an argument against why, because if they don't communicate, they don't have to take them into as much consideration, so they can do whatever they want. "Grindy" hold up buddy Beetrooter can only last 2 turns before it ran out of extra deck monsters, even memento can out grind it, and it's a deck that created for yugi boomer because of its simplicity.
They really should have played more into the Field Spell control angle like Vaylantz. Though you can probably do some cool things with an AFD line and Barricadeborg Blocker, maybe try supplementing them with a Therion or Trickstar/Volcanic package depending on your playstyle.
It only works for 3 card hands, but you can forgo the fusion setup to instead end on whale + hero with veidos ready to go and princess and earlie in the GY. Have you guys considered a Crystal Beast Package with Foolish Burial Goods? The deck has a few really strong plays but on the other hand it also has significant weaknesses. Looks like it is fun to play but I don’t think that it is good enough to top.
Nice profile, added Agnimal to my list cause it feels like a good Bonfire target, and threw a Draco Berserker in too. Now that I'm playing the Deck, I feel like Obsidim should change monsters to Pyro nit just on your turn, and its grave effect should be during either end phase. And if Spear had a quick effect....man the Deck would have been significantly stronger
Chicken game was never legal in the tcg when fa was printed. It was banned spring of 15/16 (I forget?) because of the monarch ftk deck. It was played in UA prior to that though
@@Billie.Hardrock Pretty much. You dont play allure unless you consistently plus off the banish In ashen allure is literally just bad upstart and you're def not playing upstart with only 11 non-engine slots

Giving your opponent Veidos turning off turn 1 imperms and free specials from the hand is kinda nasty
That and Veidos is the best anti field spell handtrap
Yeah, that was already neat with Volcanic Trooper but there it is just a gimmick and not the main play.
