My mom was in the hospital with a heart condition... they had her on the "heart healthy" diet. It included margerine and Ensure. I could not believe these things were considered heart healthy. She would not eat either.... she called margerine plastic butter.
I am a cashier at a grocery store. I cringe when I see people buy all the junk foods, margarine, canola oil, diet soda etc. And people say they eat healthy and they are buying power drinks, yogurt, cereal, orange juice, frozen microwave dinners. Some of these people are overweight, having trouble walking, skin issues to name a few. One lady makes a so-called health smoothie with ice-cream. Another person was told by her Doc to eat potato chips because she was sodium deficient. All this just blows my mind.
wow!
They might as well eat the “real” junk food 😂
Yes but hope u don't cringe when ringing customers up and be judgey becuz that's your job to ring up and be pleasant or work somewhere else😊
I feel bad for you having to witness people misinformed and uneducated you can tell them because we'll take offense and judge you. I can't think of a solution. Think
I found out long ago, simply because there's a "diploma" hanging on the wall doesn't mean he/she actually has a clue about anything. These on-line "SCHOOLS" are sending documents through the mail after an on-line class has been paid for, and they don't know if the actual person answered the questions.
A young "fresh" grad was doing her post-grad work for a hospital. Her job was to keep the connected hospital full. Yeah. She diagnosed me with having a heart attack while sitting at her desk------that was 45 years ago. No heart attack, BUT she's also no longer a "doctor."
Great doctor's don't fall out of trees.
Thank you doctor! I am 63 and i received your free book - it’s wonderful. I am learning so much from you. Since Jan 1 2024 i have lost 40 lbs. Thank you🎉
How long did it take your book to arrive? I'm still waiting for mine and it's been over 3 weeks.
In the hospital 2017, stage 4 colon. Still here for so many reasons: prayers, due diligence and being vigilant! Courage, resilience and positive mental attitude. 5 days 1st surgery and 7 days second surgery. After the kitchen closed all they offered was sugar-really! Popsicles, pudding, Jello, apple sauce and crackers. I was so disappointed they didn’t have healthier options. Not really catering to the cancer patients who don’t want to consume sugar or starches.
hospital food is the worst and will just make you sicker
Amen. How are you doing now?
Stay in Faith in God's Word for you are healed by the stripes of Jesus which is a finished work.
@@IamRissaRissa thanks for asking! Lots of side effects…more than I want to mention but still capable of getting in nature and enjoying life one day at a time.

It's nice to see a doctor teaching nutrition. You need to teach doctors in Medical School about this!!!!!!!!
But he's a chiropractor!!!!

So so true! A lot of doctors want you to be on medications instead of teaching a patient what to do.
He's teaching things that have been disproven, though.

Margarine is one molecule away from plastic.
It tastes like it too. When I was a kid, my mom always bought big tubs of margarine. I refused to eat anything she made with it
Wrong.
- Agave (due to higher glycemic index than most sugars and high water consumption to grow)
- All soy products, not just tofu (e.g., miso, tempeh) (due to GMOs and estrogen)
- Farmed fish (toxic, diseased, filthy waters, etc.)
- Artificial sweeteners, e.g., Equal, Sweet'N Low, Splenda (toxic, carcinogens, etc.)
- Table salt (stripped of many essential minerals, more salty so linked to higher blood pressure, added ingredients like anti-caking agents)
sorry, I do eat whole milk unsweetened greek yogurt with blueberries, frozen wild from Maine. You'll never get me off of dairy.
I’m with you on that! I do the same-sheep’s milk and grass fed cows milk plain yogurts-whole milk and I add frozen fruit and nuts.
The only thing on the list that I eat is plain Greek yogurt with fresh berries sometimes for breakfast and sometimes for dessert with a little bit of honey
Thank you for being a REAL doctor.
Please get NATIONAL exposure. This country needs your brilliance. Then … PROTECT this man! AND his beautiful wife Jessica! ❤
lol, except he's wrong on 2 and 3.
@@user-un6gw1sq9fSeriously?! Tell us how since you seem to know more. Beyond meat is full of crap ingredients just like margarine.
@@simplysarah0310 - It's not "full" of them. It has one or two things that should be had in limited quantities to prevent negative health impacts.
Having said that, they are still healthier than beef or any other animal products.
@@user-un6gw1sq9f because a product has a few helpful ingredients in it, doesn't declare it as being healthy. If I have a product, rich in antioxidants, but it's based in vegetable and canola oil...Is this healthy ?
@@user-un6gw1sq9f That is completely false 😂 Nothing synthetic will ever be healthier than the real thing. Lol
Good advise...maybe you could do one on Healthy foods that someone might actually eat.
I wish I learned all this before I got so many health issues
Sad. When I was a child my mother would take me to a pastry shop (Eclairs, Boston cream pies, filled doughnuts, etc) and would let me buy 12 of my choice. It's amazing that I am still alive. I must have a super liver! Thank you doctor!
my mother used to buy Twinkies, cream filled cupcakes, sugar cereal and since she was kosher only used margarine. I changed my diet when I was an adult, vegetarian and stay away from fake meat
Our food system is a mess....it is so very hard to know what to eat!! Thank you for this information.
I received your book very eye opener I wish all doctor's taught like you do instead giving you another pill. Keep up the great work thank you
Thank you for all this wonderful help!!
Was thankful to see nothing on that list that I've eaten for better than 25 years!
Yes my doctor told me to eat lots of yogurt smh and they told me to take probiotics but that's where I was always lost because so much information that isn't true and doctors isn't educated on this. Thanks for that great information Dr. Livingood am so grateful and blessed I have found you, you are God sent to me. Big hugs 🤗 and handshake 🤝

What about almond yogurt?
Thank you so much for going the extra mile to inform people.
I would add popcorn to this list in the top 5. More mycotoxins than any other grain. Plus what do we feed cows to fatten them before slaughter? Corn. 🌽
Thank you so much 🙏for your help! Thank God I found your video and I will follow your advices!
Thank you so much for Simplifying these bad foods that have been in my family for a very long time . Thanks for the hard work you do for us .
So helpful as always! Thank you!
Thank you Dr. Livingood. The issue with these food like substances are primarily the processed & refined sugar. It's the most addictive drug on the planet. Many a Food as Medicine doctor has acknowledged that it 8 times more addictive then cocaine. I call it a PAD, poison addictive drug.
Thank you so much for all this healthy advise
Thank You 😊!
You got me on 8,9, and 10. I’m so guilty of eating yogurt, cheerios and granola bars for work.. smh. I’m so thankful of searching your videos and thank you for properly educating us on how to choose more healthier and better.❤️
Plain goat yogurt, or kefir is my choice here and there
You are such a good person to teach everyone the goods in the bad.. love watching your videos.
I always share with love ones😊
Glad you are here with us:) -LGD Team
thanks for sharing.
I agree with every single one of these. I've been telling people for years that "yogurt is pudding." But so many people are so proud of themselves for eating yogurt with their "healthy" lunch or snack, like it's something special. It's just another name for pudding. It's a dessert.
The biggest swindle in the supermarket (which is really saying something) is "100% juice." Usually that means a little of whatever the juice is supposed to be, along with a whole lot of apple juice, which is essentially indistinguishable from sugar-water. Yes it's juice, but what kind of juice? "100% juice" is true but also a lie at the same time. A big lie hiding in plain sight.
Excellent video!
Thank you so much for caring enough about people to get this valuable information to us. God bless you mightily ❤
Thank you Dr. LIVINGOOD. i'm sharing this video with everyone i know. ❤❤❤ I have your book.. outstanding again thank you.
thank you! I purchased your book and it's amazing. I wish to have you as my doctor
Thank you dr!
What do you eat for breakfast? Tips?
Can I humbly ask..... WHAT CAN I EAT THAT IS CLEAN?, 😫😫✨️🩷🩶🤍
And easily available...
Good fats: meat fats, avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil (make sure to find out where these are all sourced to make sure they are real and not adulterated). Real butter too. And just REAL whole foods. Meats, fish, shellfish (if not allergic), eggs, raw milk and other dairy products (if can tolerate), and fruits and veggies. If you want to eat grains make sure they come from a good source, are not GMO and soak them first for better digestion. Switch out regular sugar for coconut sugar and monk fruit. I don’t eat the greatest all the time myself but I DO know from 21 years years of studying nutrition on my own what is and is not healthy and I can make some fantastic and tasty homemade meals using real foods! I cannot stand margarine or other fake butters and oils. I HAVE to use the real stuff in my cooking. I can even taste the fakeness in a lot of foods when I eat out. Even at some nicer restaurants. That’s my biggest issue is convenience. I don’t always have the time to cook from scratch and I love trying new foods. I lost 100lbs at one time cutting out all the bad stuff and I felt the best I ever felt. I kept it off for years but since put it back on cuz I started eating the crap again. I have a bad addiction to bad foods ugh. It’s gonna be a lifetime struggle with me but I am trying once again to get back into eating real Whole Foods all the time. I have witnessed the grocery stores and restaurants changing over time. To some degree. The more we demand to know where our foods come from and that we want real food and not this fake plastic junk, the more and more these restaurants and food suppliers are gonna have to listen or risk losing profits. So just eat real food. Avoid 85% of the middle of the grocery store and you will be fine.
amazing info
Thank you Dr Livingood for making health simple for us and also humorous!. I appreciate the humor as it helps to ingest the awful but true information.
Thank you. It was great to learn what is unhealthy.
Great Info Dr.LG, as usual!!!! You really hurt my heart with Nutella😂 and yogurt a little too. Some of these I was aware of. Some shocked me but im taking notes!!😊
Thanks 😊
I LOVE what you are doing!!! Finally a real doctor!!! Thank you!! I try to avoid all of those but do eat yogurt. Mostly homemade but with cow milk still.
THANK GOD FOR DR.LIVINGOOD 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing…. Love when you give us the foods that are good for us… I know supplements have a place… but ideally we should be eating the right foods that heal and grow our body and not relying on supplements… but we know there are times in our life where that may not be possible or we are not doing that… keep spreading the word about the right foods

DOC L thanks for telling us the truth! The only my Dr thinks about is crestore and metformin.
Thank you, all wonderful news I have known for a long time, finally someone comes and tells us the truth!!
You're take on Ka'chava would be please? Just wondering. That's what I get my mom to keep her nutrition up with her cancer. I stopped using it because it's pretty high in carbs to me but the carbs are good for her.
Oh my goodness! Yogurt? Yikes! I eat that with granola for breakfast 😢
So awesome to hear someone telling the TRUTH! about what we are putting in to our bodies and our babies bodies! Thank you, thank you, Doc!!
I eat plain organic Greek yogurt with fruit daily. I think he’s talking about yogurt that has fruit and additional sugars added to it that you should avoid. Like Yoplait and Chobani.
This was so informative..omg tysm.....im going to try to convince my son on some of the things you said....and ive always known margarine has been good for you....ty for everything.....hugs always from Virginia
Thanks to a friend recommending your book, hubby and I have been cutting out the rancid oils and good foods. He was super surprised that his "regular" raspberries had no flavor compared to the organic! He's slowly becoming a true believer! Thank you for your continued teachings!

OMG! Thank you Dr Livinggood, but what's there to be eaten? May God continue to help us out.
Do you have a list of replacements for these? I need to make a new list 🤣

Thank you for this. I just left a group for a diet program because so many of the people were bragging about the healthy substitutes they were eating that were full of fake sugar, artificial flavors and ingredients. The number one foods were anything sugar free and cool whip. When I tried to explain how toxic and unhealthy fake sugar is, one woman said it wasn't unhealthy unless you were allergic to it. One woman didn't like greek yogurt so it was suggested she add cool whip to it! I was surprised by the yogurt on your list - it has a lot of protein. Wondering what to substitute for that to get a good amount of protein.

How about Coconut yogurt?
I didn’t realize that Tofu was bad for you. I don’t eat it but it has been touted as a good for you food. Thank you for sharing all of this great information!
I think I get it now - We can’t eat anything.
Get his cookbook... there's plenty to eat!
I feel that way too many times.
I agree with most all of these. However, I eat a cashew or almond based yogurt that has 1 gram of sugar per 5.5 ounces, and I always choose tofu that is non gmo and sprouted. Curious on your thoughts about these
I make my own yogurt and it has no sugar in it. I also make my own sauerkraut for the same reason. By the time people depend on buying it from the store so many of the probiotics are already destroyed there is very little good in it in that regard. The probiotics need to be fresh, heat and processing destroys them. Probiotics also need prebiotics to feed on so they stay alive to get into the gut to make a positive difference.
Great video

Diet soda is my weakness. I am waiting for your book to come. I have bad side effects from some prescription meds(Lisinopril /coughing, fluid pill/hives). I would love something to take that would not cause another problem.
What about V8 100% Vegetable Juice? I just got your book and have watched some of your videos. Learning a lot more than I ever did when the Dr. sent me to a nutrition class for weight loss. Thank you

I let out a huge sigh of relief...my beer and pizza diet got the pass.
That’s why got in a habit of juicing my own fruit juice just two ingredients orange and water. I also do this with apples and grapes. I growing my own tomatoes, okra, cilantro, beans , kale kale is easy to grow that a 3 year old can put it in the ground and grow it themselves but kale hates the heat kale loves a lot of water. I’m growing cucumbers. You can eat cucumbers flowers I eat it it is so yummy 🤤 and basil. I have fun growing these.
I have your book. I lost 10 lbs just cutting out bread and pasta...eventhough I ate those items rarely.
I am good on 12 of these, but what is your suggestion to replace Cheerios? This multi grain and fruit has been my go to for breakfast most days. What about oatmeals, farina, cream of wheat? Is there clean options? Thanks for all your and your wife do for the rest of us...I worked hospitals for years and have been saying this same thing for decades. It is about prevention not cleaning up after the mess is made.

I make my own yogurt and strain it to very thick Greek. No sugar added. Is it not good for my gut? I also make kefir at home for probiotics. Thought they were healthy
I have looked at food in a different way since listening to you. I have felt better, no more heartburn or pain or headaches and I have lost 15 lbs.
If gmo is the concern for tofu, why would organic tofu be an issue? I have heard the more soy is processed, the more unhealthy it is. Tofu is minimally processed, then things like soy milk then unhealthy would be soy protein isolates. Welcome your comments.
Also Nutella has cocoa (ingredient list), not cacao (stated).
Generally, we recommend avoiding tofu because of that GMO portion. However, non-GMO organic tofu would certainly be a better option! You would just want to be aware of how much soy you are consuming overall. 😊 -LGD Team

Store bought almond milk should be on the list. I make my own almond & cashew milk from home.
Thank you for joining us on RUclips! -LGD Team
Almonds are EXTREMELY high levels of OXALATES that cause serious health problems. Sally K. Norton wrote a book TOXIC SUPERFOODS about oxalates.
I'd add soy milk too, and if I want coconut milk I'll buy a whole coconut and open it to get the coconut milk. If it comes in a box, can or jar I don't trust it to be clean or free of detrimental additives by processing.
@@travelinon7241 Soy milk is a terrible hormone disruptor. Best to avoid all unfermented soy as well as any non-organic fermented soy as almost all soy is GMO. Soy is also high in oxalates that are damaging to many internal systems, not just kidneys.
Could you recommend substitutions for each of these please...

There are many conditions that can impact kidney health such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Focus on controlling insulin with these challenges. Hydration is super important for kidney health, make sure you are drinking half your weight in ounces of water daily. Research shows that baking soda 1/2 tsp in water AM & PM can help slow the progression of kidney disease. Clean up your protein we recommend 15g for females, 20g for males per meal. You’ll also want to avoid NSAIDs and PPI’s. I’d recommend our Omegas and GI Support instead! bit.ly/4cgNQMk Our Kidney + UT Cleanse or Support can also be beneficial.
