    In this video I break down what they are and why they are not in fact “healthy” foods.

    My mom was in the hospital with a heart condition... they had her on the "heart healthy" diet. It included margerine and Ensure. I could not believe these things were considered heart healthy. She would not eat either.... she called margerine plastic butter.

    I am a cashier at a grocery store. I cringe when I see people buy all the junk foods, margarine, canola oil, diet soda etc. And people say they eat healthy and they are buying power drinks, yogurt, cereal, orange juice, frozen microwave dinners. Some of these people are overweight, having trouble walking, skin issues to name a few. One lady makes a so-called health smoothie with ice-cream. Another person was told by her Doc to eat potato chips because she was sodium deficient. All this just blows my mind.

      I found out long ago, simply because there's a "diploma" hanging on the wall doesn't mean he/she actually has a clue about anything. These on-line "SCHOOLS" are sending documents through the mail after an on-line class has been paid for, and they don't know if the actual person answered the questions.
      A young "fresh" grad was doing her post-grad work for a hospital. Her job was to keep the connected hospital full. Yeah. She diagnosed me with having a heart attack while sitting at her desk------that was 45 years ago. No heart attack, BUT she's also no longer a "doctor."
      Great doctor's don't fall out of trees.

    In the hospital 2017, stage 4 colon. Still here for so many reasons: prayers, due diligence and being vigilant! Courage, resilience and positive mental attitude. 5 days 1st surgery and 7 days second surgery. After the kitchen closed all they offered was sugar-really! Popsicles, pudding, Jello, apple sauce and crackers. I was so disappointed they didn’t have healthier options. Not really catering to the cancer patients who don’t want to consume sugar or starches.

    I agree with every single one of these. I've been telling people for years that "yogurt is pudding." But so many people are so proud of themselves for eating yogurt with their "healthy" lunch or snack, like it's something special. It's just another name for pudding. It's a dessert.
    The biggest swindle in the supermarket (which is really saying something) is "100% juice." Usually that means a little of whatever the juice is supposed to be, along with a whole lot of apple juice, which is essentially indistinguishable from sugar-water. Yes it's juice, but what kind of juice? "100% juice" is true but also a lie at the same time. A big lie hiding in plain sight.

      Good fats: meat fats, avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil (make sure to find out where these are all sourced to make sure they are real and not adulterated). Real butter too. And just REAL whole foods. Meats, fish, shellfish (if not allergic), eggs, raw milk and other dairy products (if can tolerate), and fruits and veggies. If you want to eat grains make sure they come from a good source, are not GMO and soak them first for better digestion. Switch out regular sugar for coconut sugar and monk fruit. I don’t eat the greatest all the time myself but I DO know from 21 years years of studying nutrition on my own what is and is not healthy and I can make some fantastic and tasty homemade meals using real foods! I cannot stand margarine or other fake butters and oils. I HAVE to use the real stuff in my cooking. I can even taste the fakeness in a lot of foods when I eat out. Even at some nicer restaurants. That’s my biggest issue is convenience. I don’t always have the time to cook from scratch and I love trying new foods. I lost 100lbs at one time cutting out all the bad stuff and I felt the best I ever felt. I kept it off for years but since put it back on cuz I started eating the crap again. I have a bad addiction to bad foods ugh. It’s gonna be a lifetime struggle with me but I am trying once again to get back into eating real Whole Foods all the time. I have witnessed the grocery stores and restaurants changing over time. To some degree. The more we demand to know where our foods come from and that we want real food and not this fake plastic junk, the more and more these restaurants and food suppliers are gonna have to listen or risk losing profits. So just eat real food. Avoid 85% of the middle of the grocery store and you will be fine.

The number one foods were anything sugar free and cool whip. When I tried to explain how toxic and unhealthy fake sugar is, one woman said it wasn't unhealthy unless you were allergic to it. I make my own yogurt and it has no sugar in it. I also make my own sauerkraut for the same reason. By the time people depend on buying it from the store so many of the probiotics are already destroyed there is very little good in it in that regard. The probiotics need to be fresh, heat and processing destroys them. Probiotics also need prebiotics to feed on so they stay alive to get into the gut to make a positive difference.

I growing my own tomatoes, okra, cilantro, beans , kale kale is easy to grow that a 3 year old can put it in the ground and grow it themselves but kale hates the heat kale loves a lot of water. I’m growing cucumbers. You can eat cucumbers flowers I eat it it is so yummy 🤤 and basil. I have fun growing these.

    I am good on 12 of these, but what is your suggestion to replace Cheerios? This multi grain and fruit has been my go to for breakfast most days. What about oatmeals, farina, cream of wheat? Is there clean options? Thanks for all your and your wife do for the rest of us...I worked hospitals for years and have been saying this same thing for decades. It is about prevention not cleaning up after the mess is made.

    If gmo is the concern for tofu, why would organic tofu be an issue? I have heard the more soy is processed, the more unhealthy it is. Tofu is minimally processed, then things like soy milk then unhealthy would be soy protein isolates. Welcome your comments.
    Also Nutella has cocoa (ingredient list), not cacao (stated).

    • @DrLivingood
      @DrLivingood  2 года назад +4

      Generally, we recommend avoiding tofu because of that GMO portion. However, non-GMO organic tofu would certainly be a better option! You would just want to be aware of how much soy you are consuming overall. 😊 -LGD Team

      I'd add soy milk too, and if I want coconut milk I'll buy a whole coconut and open it to get the coconut milk. If it comes in a box, can or jar I don't trust it to be clean or free of detrimental additives by processing.

      @@travelinon7241 Soy milk is a terrible hormone disruptor. Best to avoid all unfermented soy as well as any non-organic fermented soy as almost all soy is GMO. Soy is also high in oxalates that are damaging to many internal systems, not just kidneys.

    • @DrLivingood
      @DrLivingood  3 дня назад

      There are many conditions that can impact kidney health such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Focus on controlling insulin with these challenges. Hydration is super important for kidney health, make sure you are drinking half your weight in ounces of water daily. Research shows that baking soda 1/2 tsp in water AM & PM can help slow the progression of kidney disease. Clean up your protein we recommend 15g for females, 20g for males per meal. You’ll also want to avoid NSAIDs and PPI’s. I’d recommend our Omegas and GI Support instead! bit.ly/4cgNQMk Our Kidney + UT Cleanse or Support can also be beneficial.
