What a phenomenal family unit! They truly love each other. Tayari grabbing the boys and Iriki positioning herself below Ringo so he wouldn't continue to fall and daddy making sure everybody was okay. 💖

My poor Ringo. All of the adults are amazing parents. It was incredible to see Tayari also reach for Ringo once Jabali was safely in her arms and Iriki enclosing both babies from below...Nothing or no one was gonna get through the mommas today and DJ was ready to kick some ass from above. What an amazing family

What would be the point of the zoo having an electric fence if the gorillas can get under it? Or do you mean they can just reach their arms under it to grab things on the other side? Presumably the fence doesn't hurt when they touch it, just causes an unpleasant sensation that they learn to avoid, if it's like the electrical fencing my uncle used on his dairy farm (yes, I had to touch it once when I was a kid, just out of curiosity). I have mixed feelings about the zoo using it, but it allows the gorillas to have all that beautiful green outdoor space.
@@KathyPrendergast-cu5ci I think it’s just Tayari. She would do this at Apenhuel. The other gorillas don’t seem to want to risk it. Jabali copies his mom and now Ringo.

0:10 Doesn't look like it sometimes but you bet big daddy 🦍 D'Jeeco is aware 🧐 and in silverback protect mode at ALL times. 1:07 Oh no! Looks like a part of Ringo's body came in contact with the ⚡ electric fence wire (his nose or hand - ouch! 😭). My poor baby Ringo got unpleasantly interrupted upon exploring 🥺. Gorilla babies are small, but their "alarm screams" can be heard from even a very far distance. The wonderful conclusion...the entire troop came to the rescue 👍.

They are NOT monkeys. Monkeys have tails. These are great apes, gorillas, who share 98.5% of our DNA. Show a little respect for Chrissake!

Gorillas are NOT monkeys; they are apes. Likewise, monkeys are not apes. However both ARE primates.
All monkeys have prehensile tails for gripping...that's the easiest way to distinguish them: no tail= no monkey.
Curious George is partly to blame, because he's drawn like and looks like a chimpanzee , but they refer to him as a monkey...yet he has no tail, hence, no monkey.

看起來應該是Ringo觸電嚇到, 邊叫邊跳下斜坡, Jabali也被Ringo的叫聲嚇到,全家人都跑來救援,Tayari抱住兒子後還順勢扶了Ringo一把.
不過有一次, Ringo只是看到一隻毛毛蟲也是大聲尖叫, 那時只有他一隻, 媽媽就在附近很淡定, Ringo邊叫邊奔向媽媽, 可見, 他埋常尖叫的.

Poor little Ringo!! He was really scared but not hurt!! This incident proves to me gorilla kids and human kids have the same learning curve! You tell them, you show them, you explain the consequences, and you tell them the painful consequences, and what they do?? They immediately head off to do the exact opposite!!
Kids have to learn by doing. Poor thing was shocked, not hurt, and felt the sting. He’ll keep getting shocked until he gets the message. I’m betting the little guy won’t do it again!!
And how amazing was the family!! EVERYONE came in the blink of an eye!! This gorilla troop is amazing and an example of what and how a troop should behave!! Love all of them, however, those babies just warm my heart!! And they ALWAYS

Truly THE BEST troop! Auntie Tayari! Wow! Grabbing both boys as Iriki placed herself between Ringo and his potential fall! That was amazing. They are such a happy, close, doting family that has each other's safety and well-being as their top priority. Well done ALL!! Quite a scare for them all.

I’ve seen vids where little snakes are in the grass. Gorillas are afraid of snakes.
That sure looks like an electrified fence. I think the baby did touch it.
I can't imagine why they would electrify the fence. I don't think that would happen in an American zoo, but maybe I am wrong.
@@JB19504 They run a small current through the wires around some of the trees (Tayari is quite the climber and acrobat - she’s tried to get out before, so they have to keep them safe and visitors, of course. Also, Tayari almost decimated a favorite tree once by stripping a ton of the leaves and branches off! Lol You’ll notice they love the yellow leaves that fall off a particular tree, maybe a maple?). They also have to protect newly planted trees and gardens so they won’t eat everything before it can grow. 😊 They do have electrical wires here in the US, but again, the current is so low that it only gives enough of a “zap” to frighten them. There have been instances of chimpanzees who methodically and brilliantly test out wires to see if they’re working and to desensitize themselves! So smart!
Tayari likes to rip the bark off to eat. It's to deter them climbing & wrecking the tree.@@JB19504

You won't be able to hear the gorillas voices, the videos are taken from the visitor viewing platforms, all you will hear is the voices of visitors to the zoo standing near the videographers.

The only sounds they typically make if they are content are low gurgling sounds. They do not vocalize like chimps and lower monkeys. They are pretty quiet.@@sallypenhalli

Yes they are. This is my favorite gorilla family in Japan to watch. They are all so comforting and loving to each other, despite the few spats between the sisters.

@@janetliu5854 Thanks, I started watching this family a while ago. The other families in Japan years and years ago. I thought it was one of Japans zoos no wonder I like it the best. The gorillas have a lot of room, nice hideouts, shelter and the gorillas are well taken care of.

What it seems really happened ..The background music cut out the real reason....but .some loud noise happened off the right of screen, and it scared the kids and they slipped over the hill, and the adults ran and got them and they all looked over where the noise had come from....

Same thing happened to me when I was about their age. I was upstairs on my own and stuck a pair of metal sunglasses into a socket. There was a huge crack and the whole house was fused! My folks came a -runnin' just like those /\ but I didn't get TLC - when they saw I was still alive they nearly killed me!
