Absolute wicked atmosphere, no bling, fights, attitude, knives or guns - these days never to come back again, prove me wrong
houk tanh danhi Rave cultures coming back, some of our generation realise that the 90s were better and there’s becoming a resurgence free raves I’m 15 now and I can’t wait
i have been to tones of parties like this. You just have to get into the rave community ;)
Still going strong through the uk big up the devon kruuu xxx 🌲.
they never went away mate, their just hidden from view now! : )
Bigger better parties there around 2001-07
This is before we all became obsessed with the ‘spectacle’. Nobody took photos or cared what anyone looked like - it was a total acceptance that you can’t get nowadays.
the 90's were so much better than today.
Indeed. Not sure how we´ve ended up where we are, life seemed so much simpler back then.
@@jasonbrindley7545 The internet.
Yes, was when being young meant you had fun, showed respect for each other. Also, our country wasn't filled with the scum of the earth as it is now.
Just a bit

💯
Extremely good vibration here... I feel it, sound smiles freedom. I, m crying now thinking about that near, but so far era
That guy as 5.54 wasn't too impressed with the track haha!
lol
He thought it was supposed to be a concert of classical music. lol
I think he was trying to hold on to what was left of his body lol. He was hiiiiiiiiiigh
He's like a mafia boss. "Hrrmm Disgusting" and goes on haha
He wants a copy & he's trying to see the label.
Best days of my life. I grew up in Somerset but we had the same going on in the 90's. So glad I had my youth coincide with this amazing time.
I grew partied through the brainskan era and i can honestly say best best times of my life best people and wish i could go back for just one more night
Old school mixes are still played at free party's now
Agreed we had some great free parties in Somerset driving up and down the M5
Onatario had a killer scene in the early mid 90s
Oh yes. South west free parties were the best.
Well done to the film maker as this is great footage. We didn't all realise how important it was to document these times and good quality cameras weren't cheap either. It was a novelty seeing a camera at these parties. Little did we know that these videos would turn out to be a great part of history. Hope you are all doing well these days. I ended up working for the NHS after the 90s and 00s parties. Best times were always had outside in fields and forests.
The govt hated the kids enjoying themselfs for free……that’s what led to the new laws of no more than five people gathered with repetitive beats……they ruined the whole music scene doing this…..
Is it that they were afraid of something?
Free parties like this bring back so many memories......the best memories!! Dorset free parties were the best in my opinion, they all played full on Acid Techno in the vein of Chris Liberator......Stay Up Forever, Routemaster, Cluster & Smitten tracks!! London Acid Techno stylee is my fave.....blistering, mangled & distorted 303's flying everywhere (best sound in the fucking Universe). Amazing messy times, i absolutely loved it!! 🤘🏻🤪🤘🏻
Reminds me of the Portland parties back in 96
@@Walruz1000 Fun times in the quarries. How nobody fell off the cliffs I'll never know.
@@Erebus.666.are am I, neurodancer played by every DJ!
Oh my days just seen my mum in this haha mad
😅
Why does everyone look so nice and clean? When I went to Exodus raves, by 7am everyone was filthy, gurning, and looking like something from Dawn of the Dead.
What are all these people doing now?You wonder.
Some familiar faces there! Good times. Loved the Ridgeway, especially at dawn. Hello to anyone from Pineapple, Pod and JellyTree that remembers me! :-) Peggy xxx
Thanks so much for putting this up! The quality is amazing compared to most 90s rave vids. LOVE IT!
YES I was at this Rave :)
Dude what's the first 3 or 4 mins ?please
Am I the only one who's envious of the outfits these ladies were wearing? Roomy, comfy, and not solely for the male gaze. Nowadays it's like the more revealing the outfit, the more makeup, the better. Human body is beautiful, but it makes me feel like i have to look sexy all the freaking time, and takes away from truly letting go. It's like I have to show off
They dress to be able to dance. The beauty is a mix of natural and being on ecstasy
you don’t have to at all and I’m sure you’re beautiful regardless. Be comfy and know that natural is a beautiful all of its own. ❤
I miss houser chicks.
crazy to think most of those people are well into their 50s by now. hopefully still 'aving it large
51 and yes I am. 😊
@@alexfenton229 51 here too. once i've got some new discs, will be aving it large once more
@@flowinsounds I still love to AVIT under the stars 🤩🤩🤩
I am not "avin it" at all anymore. I decided this scene was crap a long time ago now... And I ain't wrong
By sunrise i was usually cross eyed 😵 with my head inside a bass bin or topless on top of the rig dancing like a demented lunatic 😆😆☝🏻😎
@ 5:29, how he mentions the camera. It was so lovely for it to be such a novelty back then. Can't stand how everyone just films absolutely everything on their phones nowadays instead of just enjoying the moment. Phones have their uses but it was lovely to be free from them back then.
That's very true. It's nice to film some things these days and take some interesting pictures, but there's a time and a place and not all the time. I think social media and the monetisation of content and influencers are part of the problem. We never had all that back in the 90s.
free parties are so much crustier these days, what happened lol
This 'movie' is my favourite, great vibe from the pioneer 90's. With a secret love between the cameraperson and the redhaired girl? I wish the best for all these dancing people (now turning grey )😉
Born 83 just leaving school around the late 90s when rave became trance but still think the 90s will never be replicated the last real free generation.
the fashion is basically every middle class gen z NPC in 2023.
I was up there running the other day . Wish it would slip back in time when im there......
not my kind of music but I respect the vibe and love it when the people make their own scene for THEMSELVES
Sometimes over used saying but our generation sure did "AVE IT LARGE" 52 Now & still love watching free party vids.
AMAIZING TIMES,
LOVELY PEOPLE,
Thanks for the Memories.......
Q.
Does this even happen anymore? Anyone?
Anywhere?
answers on postcards Kids!
Lovit still.
❤️
Yeah, it still happens but you have to know the locations well and know the crew. At 46 now and still partial to these sort of things but nowhere near as much as I used to be when I was much younger. Good to see people are keeping the vibe going and I may well go to one in Bristol as I know some of the locations where they have them here. Needs some work to find out more on that.
The 8:00 track by Terra Ferma is so good it makes me want to cry. I don't know why the future felt so much brighter then
Hi there! Don't suppose you know the name of the tune by any chance?
@@rbbha9309 Floating by Terra Ferma!
@@mimosa27 Legend!!! Thanks very much for that 👍🏻
@@rbbha9309
I especially like the guy cradling his tinny like a newborn child who shuffles over to squint at what's on the decks. Something which I often find myself doing when there's a banging tune being played, even in the age of Shazam.
He designed the rig. Probably looking to see if it's clipping. I expect it was, looking at his expression as he walks off.
No phones!!!
Thanks for the memories and uploading - Wantage Monument, great party. Spotted a few friends from my school days in that footage. I was amazed one of the systems had a load of CRTV's running crazy fractal graphics all night. Pineapple Tribe turning up was a big draw for the free party scene in the home counties. Sure my car's in there somewhere.
Would you know the killer track at 9:00?
My car ended up stuck. Surprised we got an AX along there tbh 😅
Great footage, well done whoever decided to film this at the time.
My era. My music. I just don’t see people dancing with such gay abandon these days. Miss you. X
Stims must have run out at that stage, it looks pretty quiet. Well, let's say chilled, in a nice way. Lots of girls too, I like that
I hate coronavirus
Proper stuff, seems so hard to come by presently, but there's lights a winking !
I hope that this was a leave-no-trace party and that all that trash wasn't left behind to torture and pollute the wildlife.
1996? I was 16 years old . Time is bitch...
Thank god for the "annoying guy with a camera" great video
And now 2023 and a likely cull coming at us at high speed.
So primal and special ❤
Are any of these party people aware of this recording?
Woow the vibe i get from this is much better then what you would find is todays raves. I know it sound cheesy and borring but i would love to take part in such a awesome partyyyy
Looks awesome. Wish I was there, but was only 15 at the time. So much acid in the techno and trance scenes back then.
I was just a 2 weeks fresh 14 on my 1st party in winter of 97. I took acid as well. That night, I will NEVER forget. Much more intense than 1st sex. I dont even remember that. But that party.. oh my fucking god!
@@HybOjMental acid and techno at 14!
I took E's at 17 at Dancevalley outside Amsterdam, lifted me off my feet it was incredible Dave Clarke, Jeff mills, DJ Rush year 2000
Ended up with bad crowd and left drug scene in 2006.
Hope you're doing well mate 👍
I never took drugs, only LSD :) anyway, Im fine, 40 now.. it was surprising to me, that I live so long, I had no idea what to do on this world at like 25-30 years, the big comedown. Than I found out, I have a lot of work here, the hard work. Harder than I could ever imagine it can be. But I go on, every day. @@peaceformula5830
This is the era when i first started going to free parties, because there was no ID needed to get in! Then fell in love with the underground scene! The few clubs i HAD been able to blag my way into by the age of 15 were fkn brilliant, except for the bouncers who were the most 'ORRIBLE gangsters you would ever have the MISFORTUNE to come across. If they caught you smoking a joint or having a line in the toilets they would empty your wallet, take any jewellery you were wearing, take all your drugs and slap you up a bit and threaten to plant pills on you and call the police and hand you in if you dared to protest. Never happened to me, but did happen to friends of mine and i witnessed it being done to loads of people.
None of that at free raves. All self regulation and everyone was all luvdup 😄😄 properly was THE BEST OF TIMES and i feel dead lucky to have been 16 in 1995 ... dont get me wrong, i had some of the best nights of my life in the Que club at ATOMIC JAM and SPACEHOPPER and HOUSE OF GOD, and at the DIGBETH INSTITUE/SANCTUARY and the DANCE FACTORY downstairs and behind the SANCTUARY. Epic nights 🌙 😎 but the free outdoor raves were and still are, fantastic times too. Watching the sun come ip to hard trance or acid techno or WHATEVER were beautiful moments, believe x
God I'm so envious. I was a year younger, but was too isolated, shy, lonely at the time to even think of going. Hope I get to relive this at its zenith in my next lifetime. Coming of age in the 90s of underground electronica and internet... the universe could not have devised it to be any more fantastic
Great comment. Much love
only if i could take a time machine and go back to these kind of raves lol
Seems to be a lot of that on here 'take me back, I wanna get back !'
@@suzyqualcast6269full of acid techno love it 😊
I honestly would give anything to have been able to experience a rave like this. Born waaaaaay too late. The rave scene is still alive but will never come close to this.
Mad mate innit ,i lived literaly 2 miles from here ,from 1988 to about 2002 ,they were on around the local area more or less every weekend ,some small some bigger esp in summer ,it even got a bit boring in the end ,there still some on now ,but the scenes changed and the police are stricter
Good Times Spiral Tribe/DIY etc. did amazing party's
Scary thing is everyone in that video is now 22 years older!
Not too scary. Aging is natural
It aint intelligent but its f_ckin avin it ......
Love that Liberator DJ's double album......2 of my most prized CD's & i still have them both without a single scratch on either!! Classic London stylee bangin' Acid Techno.....a blizzard of crazy 303's flying everywhere, best sound in the fucking Universe!! 🤘🏻🤪🤘🏻
Wantage Monument Oxfordshire

Oh the days before Covid....😕
partys are still going on mate, u just got to look a bit harder for them! two big ones tonight! : )
back in the times when there were no dribbling ketamine freaks
Exactly mate, it ruined the rave scene. At that point was when i decided enough is enough and moved on from it. I still DJ and love the music though
disco biscuits !
Remember my records warping on the turntables in the sun a bit later on ... happy memories
Beautiful people,beautiful vibe
That's a rave!
I think raves haven't changed all that much!! This is pretty similar to the things I went to just over 10 years ago. Maybe it is a bit different now that everyone has a smart phone.
my mate own that field now, great times
vibe must be amazing. Love the acid
I miss that acid sound. greetings from Germany (Hanomag)
I was 30 when this happened, great times, like having a second youth. possibly the dance scene was safer back then? less commercial perhaps? Still some cool things going on today though Check out @acidpauli , Damian Lazarus, Fabric Btraits etc.
Better gear, but, then, we said that after Wigan closed down. Slightly different scene but it led into rave.

Just beautiful! Good times.
This takes me back and, at some, point in the evening, someone invokes the magic words it's a raid and you scatter off into the night good times😊

8:20 this gig and the footage is so good vibes!!!
Thats the stage where I would spend my time if I was that party for sure
I would be there after I raved at the bigger system, comming down from my big acid, in that vulnerable state of psychosys where u cant even speak, look insane and just need help :))
Yes - for sure! With you on that. Riding the crest of a positive wave
Absolutely love this true hardcore ravers
I had decks on the back of a car with a little rig that night lol

Nar he wanted a sneak peek at the label to see what the track was 😎
There is nothing that will make you feel a thousand years old, quite like watching a video like this and looking at the cute girls in it and being struck by the harsh reality, that they are in their mid 40s and their children are older than they were in this video.
Exactly this 😂😂 free spirited 90's beauties, my heart bleeds
We are still cute girls! :)
