  • After completing the Annapurna Circuit my visa was about to run out so I decided to return back to India where wild camping is due to the population density a fairly tricky task.

What a really like about this video is that you capture the noise and the vibe. Even those of us with a dozen or more countries on our "I've biked there" lists understand that India is not for beginners...

I agree Nepal is much better in that. You get plenty calm areas where chaos and noise pops up only sometimes for a short moment and then as you move on you'd find yourself back in silence again. Can only highly recommend Nepal. People are really some of the nicest on this planet and the food is also soooo good 😊

Yeah as a western tourist you get no privacy. It gets mentally draining after a while. Especially if you're naturally more introverted.

Went down the rabbit hole with your awesome videos! As an Indian who grew up in Georgia (USA), I can relate to your never ending selfie requests when I visit my family back in Delhi. I never had a bike adventure in India but, I do many bikepacking trips here in the North Georgia mountains. Cheers, Mate!! Keep the great content rolling..

As a thumb rule, IndianOil petrol pumps can be your campgrounds. They are told to allocate their parking spaces for truck drivers. But if you request them nicely, they might allow you.

India seems like it would be an incredibly intense experience for a bike tourer. It's something I think I would really struggle with, but that just makes me think I have more reason to go there. It's important to get outside of your comfort zone.

You can ask first at any dhaba that if you eat at there restaurant would they allow you to pitch a tent somewhere around the restaurant for the night ,mostly they should be ok with that as they have earned some money from you
Many bike packers in India do that .
Try if it works out for you . Do visit kaza , leh, Manali( u can pitch tent anywhere )if your still up north .
If your planning around south (Goa ,Kerala) then monsoon opens up big time there be careful. Enjoy india 🇮🇳 cheers!

Wohltuende Musikbegleitung.

    Camping in India? Seriously?
It would seem to me a crazy idea as:
    1. You will be constantly pestered by spectators.
    2. There really are not many places to practicslly camp.
    3. The fixed accommodation in hotels or lodges is just SO cheap to get very good rooms.

    • @MONKEYON2WHEELS

      1. Yes
      2. Yep
      3. Yes

I think India has some nice places up in the north Manali/Leh and the far north east. Probably there are more places where it could be nice but there is certainly a lot of places that create more stress than joy.
