      All these Steelers need are blue and neon green unis and I would swear they were the 2016 Seahawks. Stifling themselves with poor play-calling and mediocre O-Line play.
      And the Justin Fields e perimeter needs to stop. It’s hurting the offense. It disrupts Russ and the offense.

      @DeCurtaRican 2 дня назад +2

      @@dakidhandz: Agreed! They lost a very winnable game. I thought Arthur Smith was supposed to be a good O.C.
      They need to get Brian Schottenheimer in there once McCarthy is fired from Dallas. He had Russ running an e plosive offense that couldn’t be stopped. He only got fired from Seattle because it exposed Pete Carroll’s poor coaching on defense.
      Russ was putting up Manning-type numbers.

    Same old problem we’ve had the last five years no offense. Pretty sad when the offensive line can’t open a hole for a 1 yard game. That’s just pathetic. You’re not going to be Kansas City you’re not gonna beat Buffalo scoring field goals you have got to get the ball into the end zone. The last OC was pathetic. This one doesn’t seem to be any better. he is so predictable, we run on first down pretty much every series. I’m pretty sure the other teams know this. How about we change it up a bit how about maybe we pass on first down or maybe you know play action. All I know is we need to start scoring more

    The fact that Mike Williams and Russell Wilson showed obvious chemistry in Williams’s first game yet isn’t being used makes me wonder if there isn’t more to this narrative that the NFL is scripted than we might think.
    Too much inexplicable stuff happening. I start wondering if the league pays coaches under the table to throw games and championship runs.
    This loss is a big one. It puts their #1 seed hopes in jeopardy.

    I think it was a combination of factors.
    1. The Browns were juiced and ready. It never fails to amaze me that whatever the team’s stats are, 8/2 or 2/8, every other team in the NFL feels like they’ve accomplished something special if they beat the Steelers. I think one reason for that is because Pittsburgh is a victim of their own legacy of success.
    2. The weather didn’t help that’s certain. Both teams were subject to the slippery conditions, poor visibility. That’s just physics and both teams are supposed to be professional enough to play through adverse weather.
    3. The Steelers had a short recovery period after an extremely physical game against the Ravens. Win or lose, both teams got beat up in the match with the Ravens. To me that’s probably the biggest single factor contributing to their loss. However, one thing I respect about the Steelers and Tomlin is that they don’t use such things as excuses and admit when they should have played better and didn’t. In many ways the training and physical conditioning necessary to compete in the NFL is similar to Navy Seal training. When there’s a mission to accomplish in front of you, you don’t make excuses. You charge ahead and strive for success regardless of any overwhelming circumstances against you.
    4. The Steelers may have been guilty of not taking the Browns, with a record of 2/8, seriously enough, underestimating their opponent. It can happen to anyone. The Chiefs broke their winning streak recently and feeling overconfidence can ruin the day for anyone, not just in football.
    So that’s my useless opinion, rendered by my armchair quarterbacking, as to why they lost. I wouldn’t write them off just yet. They have surprised us in the past and just as capable of doing it again by learning, adjusting and continuing to move forward. They lost one battle, not the whole war. The rest of the season should provide for some interesting battles yet to come.

      You forgot one more thing: Justin Fields may have successfully led be scoring drive, but he also killed a couple of others. I d like him to stay n the sidelines unless the Steelers have a huge lead. His presence disrupts the offense by taking Russ out of rhythm.

    • @nickkepics6379
      @nickkepics6379 День назад

      DeCurtaRican, I actually thought about the point you made about J Fields but opted not to include it. I don’t have strong reasoning for that decision, you may be right on the money. I guess I figured as far as that kind of thing goes, substitution of players by the coach, at that level, the players aren’t really phased by that kind of thing. After all, it’s the coach’s prerogative to do what he sees fit. I also think that by the time JF was subbed in, it was more of a psychological tool to throw the other team off. It’s an unknown, unpredictable. And it actually worked a couple times by gains he made happen. Truthfully, I’ve been more encouraged this season so far by watching the Steelers actually play like a team, something that’s been missing the past few seasons with certain players (I won’t mention any names) causing locker room drama, letting super star status go to their heads. Those kind of things are distracting and do not lead to a strong sense of team spirit.
      I have also been very impressed by the relationship JF has with RW. No overblown egos, no sense of one-upping each other, just true cooperation.
      Maybe I’m too old fashioned but frankly I don’t think there’s anyway that any team gets to the Super Bowl without having left those kind of attitudes in the rear view mirror, superstar individuals thinking they are the sole reason for a team’s success.
      Then again, I’m a die hard Steelers fan and maybe I’m coloring what I’m seeing with wishful thinking. I’d sure love it if they could win one or two more Super Bowls before they plant me in the ground. I’m 75, and have lived through all the victories and losses as far back as I can remember, from Chuck Knoll and Bill Cowher to Tomlin. And I’ve learned one thing for certain so far; as happens to us all, my body may be withering, but my spirit is not.
      I’m from Pittsburgh and, like many others, have seen us beat everybody and I’ve also seen us get beaten by everybody. Over time, those kind of things, all the ups and downs, will build your character and teach you humility and respect for your opponents if you let it.
      People from western Pennsylvania understand loss and rebuilding. I don’t mean to sound poetic but when the steel industry crashed and left Pittsburgh it left folks with an identity crises of sorts. It happened to lots of rust belt cities, all the way to Detroit. So artist point you’re in survival mode. You either reinvent yourself, get back up on the horse, whatever metaphor you like, or you perish. That never-give-up work ethic is in our DNA.
      As an interesting side note, my grandparents were immigrants. I’m half German, half Hungarian and most of both sides of my family were what they used to call mill hunkies. Not to be confused with the word honkie, though we were honkies as well. You can actually google mill hunkie and Wikipedia has a very accurate description of what it meant back in my grandfather and father’s time.
      Back to business. I was actually glad to see Tomlin put JF in for a few downs, just to shake things up. It’s been a long while since the Steelers have had two really good quarterbacks on their roster and it gives the coach a powerful option in addition to an already nicely coalescing sense of team spirit that has been woefully conspicuous in its absence.
      Whatever happens from here on out for the rest of the season I look forward to traditional Steelers grit and perseverance. I always tell my buddies who are fans of other teams that Steeler’s games are always entertaining, right down to the final minutes. And one thing I love about them is, if they win, man they win ugly. But when they lose, man they lose beautiful! I’m especially looking forward to the Christmas Day game between the Steelers and Chiefs, and ‘in’ Pittsburgh. To me, that’s gonna be my Super Bowl for this year. Nice talk.

      His streak didn’t have to come to an end. This was a very winnable game, and he played well in it. He could’ve thrown for 3-4 TDs. I’m m not feeling the Hustij Firkds thing. They need to given that up. He’s a backup, give him garbage time or put him in with sizable leads. Other than those two occasions, he shouldn’t be playing.
      That offense has enough struggles without the added burden of the O-Line having to remember which QB is in the game, and Russ having his rhythm disrupted.
      Dude was warming up as the game went on. He would’ve won it for the Steelers. It’s quite stupid for them to insert Fields during close games, and it needs to stop.

    This loss was entirely on the coaching staff. The team wasn't prepared for the Browns. They played down to the level of a 2-8 team. The play calling left a lot to be desired. The coaches or Coach Tomlin showed little or no respect for the Browns by trying to kick a 58-yard field goal into a blizzard and by going for it on 4th down in their own side of the field. Also, calling a time-out in the 4th quarter when the Browns had the ball on 3rd and 5 or 6 yards to go. A complete waste of a precious time-out that was needed at the end of the game. Every decision made during this game leads up to the end result of the Steelers losing to a team with a sub .500 record again. It's time for this to stop one way or another.

  • @kmarks173
    @kmarks173 2 дня назад +2

    The Steelers should have made a play calling adjustment when it became obvious that the Browns were committed to defending the run. Running up the middle only works when you have some element of surprise, and some understanding that you might have to defend against a pass. They should have spread things out by throwing more, then it would have opened up the defense so that the Steelers could run the ball.
    Wilson was having a great game. He ended up 21/28 with 270 yards a 116 passer rating. If they would call more passes, or play action, or passes from run formations, they would have won the game. The Steelers have a great run game, but it takes passing to soften up that the opponent's run defense.

      I thought the same. They never should of switched Fields for Wilson. The O-line was starting to gel a little, but Fields was the X-factor that the Steelers needed to make up for the bad line play. He also has a rocket arm. Especially mid-range passes. But yeah, gotta mix up the playbook as well. Baltimore mostly runs, but they have Lamar taking off when crap goes south. I know Tomlin always wanted Fields over Wilson, and he's got a Lamar 2.0. Late I'm that game their was poor coaching. I believe they should have ran it when it was around 3mins & some change 3&4 at least u make Cleveland spend a time out. Who knows Justin Fields could've picked up the 1st. Also instead of accepting that illegal touching they should have kept it 4-2 that's a very very pressure situation that Cleveland would've had. & Who knows how that play would've went. Now all that being said where Pittsburgh made the biggest mistakes was not letting Nick Chubb score that T.D which would've left Pittsburgh with around 1+ but what they did was allow Cleveland score on the very next play which cost the Steelers precious time that they could have used. That's why I say The coaching COST the Steelers that lose. U have to put that on the COACHES.Another Thing with coaching is in the REDZONE why not have packages for Justin Fields one thing I know is with Justin in the REDZONE he scored 5 T.D. they struggled last week with Bal.in the REDZONE& I BELIEVE IF JUSTIN IS IN THE REDZONE THAT GAME AGAINST BAL the Steelers would have had at least 2 T.D's, & at best maybe 4TD's one thing we know is Justin Fields put 5TD's in the REDZONE. COACHES R GOING TO HAVE TO AT LEAST GIVE JUSTIN A CHANCE IN THE REDZONE.

    It is true that weather conditions can impact both teams, but when snow is expected BOTH teams need to be allowed to wear their colored uniforms, because the team wearing white does have a bigger vision challenge in thick snow. Don’t say that isn’t a factor, because it is! It disadvantages the visiting team.
    Having said that, the Steelers had no business losing this game, and they lost it to m part because they narrated Justin Fields. Russ too diplomatic to say anything, but it is disrupting his rhythm, and Arthur Smith is the one pushing for that bullsh!t anyway. He needs to be silent until he shows he can direct a competent offense.
    Russ is an example credible late-game QB. That’s when he is at his best. Inserting JF in games cuts off his late-game magic.

    When Fields looks better running the option, and Russ looks better throwing the ball in the snow late in the game - Fields throwing long to Pickens on 3rd and 4 was the wrong play for the wrong qb. Russell throws it, I trust we get it. Fields runs it, I trust we get 3-8 yards. Stop trying to make one man do what another does better.

  • @DeCurtaRican
    @DeCurtaRican 2 дня назад

    The Justin Fields thing isn’t working for me. He should only play when the Steelers have a huge lead. It’s too risky to do anything else. The Steelers are going to blow this season and lose BOTH QBs with this bs. Russ will still have suitors.
    And playing Fields won’t make him stay. He’s already gone, whether to the Jets, Raiders or Seahawks, or even back to Chicago! They can forget about re-signing him because that train left the station once Russ was on inserted into his rightful place as the starter. They need to worry about keeping Russ and making a SB run.

    THIS LOSS IS ON TOMLIN Indecisive after the Winston grounding/illegal touching fiasco. when he had them in 4 and 2 he chose 3 and 7, knowing his defense was tired. You never give them two cracks at picking up the first down. Make the Browns decide? Kick a 50 yd FG or try again to pick up the 1st on 4th down. They would probably have punted the ball. He took the options away from his team. Poor Coaching that is why he can't compete with Andy Reid.😢

      As long as the season is .500, it's a "winning" season and Tomlin will continue to waste talent while Steelers go nowhere. Fans deserve better, players like TJ and Cam deserve better. Also Tomlin needs to stop playing head games and choose one QB1, NOT QB1.5 - It's not working.

    Quit crying a real playoff team wins these games. Fields throwing a pass after Wilson’s 2 touchdowns is almost a cruel joke, Tomlin’s a real A hole with clock or challenge decisions. The no losing record is his lucky ass had a lot of talent that took care of business. What do you call a coach that after more than 20 years coaching in the NFL don’t really know the rules.
