I think you did a remarkable job with the sound considering how windy it was there. I really enjoy seeing all those cars. Some of classic cars there at the Rootes show remind me of american vehicles. The green Humber wagon at 1:40 reminds me of a 1958 Rambler Ambassador in the front. Or maybe a 1958 Studebaker Commander. Seems like about every car I see reminds me of another car. Like your Imp reminds me of an early 1960 Chevrolet Corvair.
Thanks. Yes many of them do. There were some fantastic cars there and I would be chuffed to own any one of them.
Great walk around.
I grew up in a Rootes family in Australia.
I learned to drive in a 1963 Humber Sceptre, it was the first one in Australia.
The Vogue was a Humber down here.
Cheers from Liz in Victoria, Australia.
I never really looked at them before but the show highlighted just how lovely many of them are. Thanks for watching… all the way from Aus 👍
Have to say I've never really appreciated either subtlety or beauty in the styling of Rootes Group vehicles until now. This video has been a very enjoyable eye-opener.
Same as me. Some great looking cars.
What an interesting gathering. I particularly liked the early, black Imp. There were some very nice cars on show!
Yes a very good show. Thanks for watching and your comment.
This was a highlight of my UK trip. An inspiration to get all my Imps mobile again.
It was a great day.
Rootes made some good cars. The windowed Hillman you 1st came to was a Husky i believe a later one.The early Singer Vogue estates( Arrow range) used cast iron cylinder heads unlike the Hillman Hunter..
Definitely and more than I actually appreciated. Didn’t know about the Vogue using a different engine. Thanks for your comment.
What a fantastic array of cars and a good turnout.
It was a great collection
8:41 - I saw quite a few Arrow Hillmans and Humbers when I lived in France called Sunbeam in the 70s, but this looks mean enough to be a Holbay-engined GLS. As at 14:10.
13:38 - Can't believe you walked past TWO H120s without a word!
Thanks for a great vid.
I can’t believe cars I walk past when I watch the video in the edit. I miss a few at the larger shows. Thanks for watching and the info.
Rapier convertible is always a lovely car .
Yes lovely
When you menioned the Le Mans Alpine , you didn't that the other 2 are called HARRINGTONS
As my Rootes knowledge is limited, very limited, I don’t pretend to be anything but someone walking around a car show. I now know there are Harrington Alpines.
