ok i totally changed my opinion about opeth. i listened to their 2005 album and i really fell in love with that record!
this is a very spontanious cover (some timing problems inclusive). i just played it the 4th time but i think it is ok for youtube. i know some fills doesnt really match to the style of their music... im working on it :)
because of the 10 minutes -norm i had to cut the middle and the end -sorry!!

nice job man, i love the sound of your kit, especially the snare, tom's and bass drum, i liked how you added your own fills in, though as you say they didn't always fit in with the style but most of them were good. you should cover more opeth, what about one from the deliverance album

I have to say, fanatastic drumming, keep up the great work.
Lopez was the drummer for Ghost Reveries. He left in 2006 due to health problems.
Both drummers don't compare since Lopez has been with Opeth for a very long time and Axenrot is also Bloodbath's drummer. Which isn't the same still of drumming at all.
After all it is a COVER, taking someone's work and doing it yourself basically from your perspective. Excellent cover, fantastic skills.

I've seen hundreds of drum videos on youtube (you being a drummer yourself, I'm sure you've done the same), and I have to say that I categorize you in the group of "drummers actually worth watching". This was a fucking awesome cover, you had your own awesome fills, and this is a decently tough song to nail and you did it. sweet job. OPETH IS FUCKING AMAZING

This is for all you guys saying it's not a cover: does it say anywhere that it is? He stated himself it was a spontaneous play. I play drums as well and I know how it is to play over a song, sometimes you just play what you feel. I think some passages he made are even better than Mendez'. Good job!

guys will always criticize you, but think about, most people don't have all day to practice like the pros do. If you had nothing to do but play drums, its easy. Real people don't have that luxury. Great job, also look back at this video in a few months and you'll realize how much you have improved. Good luck, keep on rockin!!!

I can believe that it was. I'm only say that in this forum, it sounds slower and easier. Not saying it was, just sounded that way. The tone makes it sound slower, I suppose.
