Had the privilege of having Charlie sing this as well as other songs on the front steps of the old farm house where we lived in Rapidan Va. It was at a pig roast where he was invited and he did indeed show up with his family. He was a down to earth human being and had in my opinion one of the best voices of anyone in the entertainment business bar none. Rest in peace Charlie.
Charlie's voice was still awesome during this period. I have had a great career, but there are a few things I didn't accomplish: I was never a Bluegrass Boy and I was never a member of the Country Gentlemen. But I am honored to have met and performed with many and of them . Charlie was the best of the best when it came to vocalists. I miss him.
Absolutely loved this man’s voice!! So privileged to see and hear him “live” at Ralph Stanley’s Memorial Festival in May of 2002!! We lost a wonderfully, talented man when he passed away, but he left us his legacy of music!❤️
I've always assumed this song is based on the legend of Resurrection Mary from Chicago, although there are ghostly hitchhiker stories all over the world. Beautiful version, but I miss Duffy's voice. There never was a voice like Charlie's, though.
My thieving sister stole all of my pictures and I have no memories of these beautiful Bluegrass greats. I need people to support me in bringing her down
What year was this? Mr. Waller has been gone for awhile now. His voice still sounds great considering he must of have been near the end when it was filmed.

No one can do this song as well as Charlie and John Duffe
Great to hear and see the one and only Charlie Waller again. Good supernatural tale.
Still one of the best songs ever, by one of the best voices ever.

This had to be in the early 2000's he passed away in 2004.
