    I agree. Let it slide, if it’s a book you really want, you keep it close.

    It’s something I always wonder when you leave a pile if someone doesn’t realise it. Personally as i’ve only been collecting for 6 months and went into to my first comic shop last September I didn’t even realise this happens as I walked around with mine. I suppose if you’re a regular there then the owner would know it’s your pile but if it’s a young dude and it wasn’t that much of a deal I’d just let him take it. In this way there’s another collector into the scene? Cheers 🍻

    Definitely did the right thing even if he was in the wrong. You want young kids getting books to keep the hobby alive. You have a bunch anyway so no loss. Good guy !

    Young kid into comics...I'd probably tell him to ask "is this your pile" next time, and then I'd pay for his comic.

  • @LouiPoppa
    @LouiPoppa 11 месяцев назад +2

    I would have said something just to get his response. If it was a genuine mistake "oh man I'm sorry I didn't know it was yours* then I'd let it slide. If he got an attitude. "Boy gimme my book!"

    I got Into comics to get away from drama. Not yelling at the kid was very cool of you.

  • @maartenbouw

    Knowing you have multiple copies I would have said something to the kid, and depending on the response I’d either let it slide or say something more.

  • @l.greenemachine66

    I would have stopped him, asked if he knew what he did? And since his parents didn't teach him any manners, I would tell him he "should have asked 1st "and depending on his answer, let him have the book. 😊

    if it was important to complete a set or valuable, maybe say something but since it's no big deal, no reason to make it a big deal.

    Lastly if you are in SC what’s the name and location of the comic shop in this vid?

    You should of addressed him & taught him proper etiquette; explain how that was not polite, nor should you ever touch a person's bundle of books. Then, still let him have it. But, let him know, or he will continue to touch other people's bundles thinking it's fine.

    You probably did the right thing by letting it slide. Sounds like you're okay with it, and you know what the kid did. In all actuality, I probably would of said, hey, I picked that book. Please let me have it back. Go from there on that. You would not of been out of line if you called him out. I wasn't there, so I don't know if the kid was out of line or not.

  • @ccculture9681
    @ccculture9681 11 месяцев назад +1

    In the old days, if a kid grabbed from someone else's pile, they got their hand slapped. That wouldn't fly today. Back in the day though you were taught to keep your hands to yourself. I would have said something in a polite way and probably let him keep it.

    The first response and action is the right one just like in the thumbnail, lol kidding lol.
    Here's how i handle it when i go out hunting for comics, i stack some comics i find that I like and set them on top of the comic bins either beside me or in front of me when i can see them to make sure no one tries to take them.
    The best response to that is to say,
    "Excuse me sir." or "Ma'am", "i've placed these comics next to me to be purchased."
    If there be an issue because they want the item which is not purchased yet even though you set them aside for yourself, you say to them,
    "With all due respect sir." or "Ma'am", "If you see some comics being put aside on top of the comic bins while the customer next to you is looking through the bins is because it belongs to that individual, also if not sure it's best to ask first out of courtesy if it's theirs or not before you can to take the items."
    And that's that. Courtesy comes a long way to respecting others as you want to be treated.
    As for me i'm going to get my comicbook back no if's or but's especially if it's some reasonably priced comics that may be on my list, rest assure i will be going after it no doubt about that that's for sure lol.
    Nice review and God bless. Amen and amen.

    Awesome grab on the Omegas bro! ALL X-MEN 🔥🔥🔥 right now!! Finally going to be in the MCU I'm excited! Be careful on those comic book streets! I would have just told him politely that book was mine but if kid seemed cool i probably would have let him have it especially if i had one already! I definitely gotta love when the younger generations carry on our hobbies! Glad you're on whatnot i remember i suggested that to you a while ago thats awesome dude! Do you sell or just buy? Whats your whatnot tag??

    This why I don’t hunt for keys….if it was a book I needed for my PC cuz I actually read my comics and it was the last issue and someone tried to claim it yea I’d say something but like UBP and I had an issue 1 and saw anything on the shelf and someone tried to grab it, I pry would let ‘em have it especially if I had an issue already cuz flipping comics is too much 🤣🤣🤣💩

    I think if you are absolutely confident that he knew it was yours and purposely took it you could very politely ask him to please give it back or go to the shop owner to let the shop owner know what happened; then the shop owner can make a decision. You were overly gracious and wonderful and that is great but I still think if you wanted to you would have been fine to handle it differently.

    The kid should have asked. But you took the high road and let him have it because he was a kid. Now if it was an adult, that may have played out differently.
