Darling woman, after watching all your videos I almost ran out of money using travel tips! Just kidding!!! We went to Italy & Switzerland and used almost every tip you gave us. Esp the liquids pouch, airpods, tp for energencies, etc., journal, compression sox, and tiny containers for moisterizer and liquid makeup. Also the yellow rain jacket-looked cute. More but I forgot! thanks for everything, Elly from Castle Rock, CO
Laurie, could you do a test on the phone straps for preventing your phone from being snatched out of your hands while taking pictures. This happened to us this summer in London ( we still have our phone) just a few bruises and scratches but we won 🙌🏻 I saw a lot of people using them.
Hello Laurie. Just back from a 3 week tour of Europe. I used so so many of your hacks and tips while packing for this trip. I have been using packing cubes for some time but I moved to compression cubes which were a game changer. The cubes were the best as we were actually living out of suitcases and often found ourselves in a different hotel each night. Kept us organized....especially my husband. I also was worried about pic pockets and a friend also warned us of this. I took your recommendation and purchased the clips to put on zippers of my backpack and sling bag. Worked great. The kit I ordered came with various sizes and quite a few so was able to share with family members who joined us. Even your ideas of packing and to layer outfits was great and I invested in some great walking shoes that went with everything. Thank you for your tips and tricks as it made this trip and packing so easy. I recommend your channel often. I even shared with my sister in law and she picked up a few tips as well for this trip!
I use a small clear crossbody as my plane bag. It is the type you would use to get into stadiums and events. It fits in the seat back and I can see my items without digging in my bag. I carry it in the airport as my purse, being careful to hide my wallet and passport in the middle and behind other objects. I just have to remember to move my hand lotion over to it after security and to leave room for it in my personal item until I get past the gate agents.
Lauri, I just returned from France and have traveled to Germany, Austria and Italy. I always travel with my regular flat iron (CHI). I use an adapter with no bulky converter and I’ve had no problems. My flatiron still works great. Other countries may leave me with a non-functional flatiron but, so far so good.
Still stalking for the backpack Bernado jacket & getting excited to plan next years trips. So many awesome tips, as usual ~ Hello Aullie and Happy Sunday Laurie.
I returned a few weeks ago from a 10 day trip to Italy and honestly stressed for months about what to pack in my carryon and my personal item bag. I spent a lot of money on different items and at the end of the day, in reality, I didn't really need many of them. But, I do thank you for the suggestions. I will keep them in mind for future trips.
I take a lot of meds and I do not bring them in their bottles. I use a pill organizer . I also take pics of each med bottle on my phone in case I am asked. I have traveled internationally a lot and have yet to be questioned about my meds. And I agree Laurie, it is important to bring adapters with usb outlets as some hotels are older and usb outlets are few. I also suggest that if you can leave your hairdryer home and use hotel dryer it cuts down on appliances and space in your luggage! And I wear the Dr Scholl compression socks that you wear and they are fabulous for airplane. I am a diabetic and they are perfect for my feet and legs! Great vid as always!
Thank you for all the info. Been out of the game for 13 years and finally got a new passport. Worked for an airline and I am finally ready to travel out of the country because of YOU❤. Even going to apply to PRE check etc. the best was the Sunflower 🌻 program and the extra help from TSA. 🙏 THANK YOU
Laurie, thanks for another great tips video! I just wish I’d known about those water-resistant pants before my trip to Portugal last year & Paris last week! Now I know October in Western Europe = RAIN (even those huge red Viking umbrellas weren’t enough 😂). Next year, I’ll have those trousers! And I love that Mophie triple charger from the Apple Store! I’ve had mine for 3 yrs. & it hasn’t let me down. Have a wonderful week!
I have those pants in tall in 3 colors, they are the BEST travel and hiking pants! Most comfortable pants I've ever owned and dry super fast. I just ordered the black backpack-strap jacket. It is on save for $99.00 and you can get a 15% discount off that right now.
Hey Laurie! I just got a pair of the water-resistant pants. Was surprised at how lightweight they are. Will definately need to wear something underneath them in the cold! They are very comfy!!
A few weeks ago I watched one of your videos where you talked about the water resistant pants that you mentioned in this video. Because they came in petite size, I ordered a navy and dark gray pair. Even with Amazon Prime, only one pair came in time to take on our Mediterranean cruise. I love them! I wore them on the day we went to the beach in Nice, France, where the water splashed up getting on my pants, but they dried super fast and were perfect for the day! I may have to buy them in some different colors. So comfy, they fit my 5’2” frame perfectly (petite)and I love the zipper pockets. You briefly touched on bathrooms in Europe. My experience has been that they are usually very clean but you will probably have to pay .50€ to use public toilets. It would be a good idea to have tissues on hand because one place we were at in Portugal or Spain, it free to use them but if you wanted to use toilet paper, that cost.50€. 😝 Thanks for all the advice you give!
I appreciate your advice and product suggestions. We are planning a big vacation next year, and your suggestions have me thinking and rethinking what I should pack. So Thanks!
I travel with toilet seat covers, they come in a travel friendly bag. Saved me a few times. Thanks for all your tips to travel carry on only, much needed now that I am non rev a lot.
Great ideas!!! I live not far from Lake Garda. A magnificent area. Some of my favorite places around the lake to go are Sirmione, Malcesine, Lazise. You can also take a boat from those places to go to the other side of the lake. Have fun!!
Apple no longer carries the trifold charger for airpods, iphones and Apple watches. They do have an alternative available. I love, love, love your content. I travel a lot (can’t do a carry on for trips, tho) and do many of the things you suggest. You can always teach an old dog new tricks! Keep up the great work!
Quince also has great cashmere . They basic sweater is $50. I packed 3 for our Oct/Nov trip. They are perfect. I also spent a little more and got the zip hoody. Love all of them.
I have been in several bathrooms in Europe over the years with no toilet paper (once in Florence where street people had stolen all the rolls and were selling it back outside the entrance), so I always carry a small pack of tissues for these possibilities. And have had to use them! Of course often in the US, too, but this video is international-related.
My husband and I take my older sister with us everywhere. (We are all retired) We share a room where possible and find that there is never enough room for all the little travel bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the shower area. So this trip I am taking a mesh shower bag that hangs from the shower curtain hooks. I have suction cup hooks for hanging it on the shower wall. Hoping this takes care of the shower chaos as there are 9 pockets in it. Amazon has just about everything you could possibly want, don't they?
Laurie those pouches for the wet shampoo bar are now $20, which seems like an awful lot just to keep your shampoo bar or soap dry. If/when you find something more economical please share! Thanks! (I’m now wondering if drying it off with a hairdryer & placing in a baggie or covered soap dish would work).
Nice! I’m a first time long haul flight going to Asia for a month. It’s going to be a very long haul flight ✈️ about 27 hrs. So looking for videos to help what should I bring. Thanks for this info and sharing. ❤

Thank you for your videos! I am watching them again for any tips I might have missed previously. My upcoming International trip is in 10 days. I started putting together a capsule wardrobe per your suggestion, so I don't over pack like I have in the past! 😆 But I have a dilemma. I am taking my London Fog trench coat and was going to pack a rain coat too but was thinking instead of packing the raincoat, to throw in my denim jacket instead. Since the trench coat is water resistant and if I am also bringing an umbrella, do you think I really need to bring my rain coat too? Going by the typical weather forecast for Istanbul in November, it averages to about 10-12 days of rain. So, I am thinking I can get by without the raincoat. Or if worse comes to worse, I can always buy a raincoat there if Istanbul gets more rain than expected. 🙃 Sheesh, I know I overthinking this!
You are such a font of information, which I have used on our trips. Lake Garda is wonderful. The scenery is amazing, not so crowded. If you have not been to Verona, which is nearby, please visit. I can give you restaurant recommendations for Verona if you want.
My two tips. Don’t wear cinchable pants through security. Mine kept flagging a pat-down at the ankle. I removed the grommet and pull-tab, and no more problem. 2. Bring more than one type of usb cords for rental cars. I only use usb for my phone, but my foreign rental car in the US only had usb-c ports.
Hi Laurie, love your travel tips. Had a question on the heart shaped sponge you showed. Is that for skin care? I couldn't see what the name was. Thank you! ❤
Hi yes it should be linked. I still use them to wash my face at night. Here they are: www.amazon.com/shop/traveltipsbylaurie/list/2A8Y9H0FJH65B?ref_=aipsflist
I still take a dedicated camera on trips, because it's so much easier to pull the memory card and transfer my photos than it is to remember the process to do a dump from my phone to my computer. also, I think my camera battery goes something like 4 days between charges.
Hello, I’m from Delaware. I’m going with my family of 5 to our first international flight to South America. I don’t know if you have any videos of you traveling there? We are going to have 62, 75 to 85 degree weather temperatures in our whole week and a half trip. Any tips on carry on suitcase and personal bag to all three types of weather? I enjoy watching your videos, and I still haven’t seen them all yet but I have learned so much already. Thanks

This doesn't have to do with the current video, but I'm about to go on a trip and wanting to take my rollator walker...do you have any tips or instructions on how to travel with it. Whether checking it at the gate or ticket counter. Thanks in advance for the help...keep up the great videos!!
Hi, definitely do not check it until the gate. They may even have room for you to stow it in the overhead bins. Ask when the gate agents walk up and start working at the desk. The ticketing people will not know that information. And have fun either way!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie It's the high water that usually floods St. Mark square at certain times of the year by the high tides of the lagoon. We will be there next October and were worried about walking around in flooded streets.

We're cruising around Italy and Greece next year. I love your travel ideas and experiences. Question: Is there an equivalent to Go Girl that's maybe more packaged for Oh Boy? (Wife of a DFW pilot)
Hey there, can you tell me if the Tide stain pen is considered a liquids please. Love your channel, look forward to each and every one of them. Even when I'm not about to travel. 😅
Hi everyone, Has anyone tried the inflatable pillows that sit on the tray? They have arm holes and a face hole do you can lean forward with your face in the hole.
Hi Laurie, I always thought that I could only take 3 or 4 liquid containers in my little liquids bag. I see that you have several small containers in that liquids bag. Thank you for teaching me that. Also, I use only sensitive toothpaste, wonder if the toothpaste tablets come in sensitive. My teeth hurt like crazy if not using sensitive toothpaste...I usually have it on my carry on because I fear my luggage can get lost and I won't have my essential toothpaste.
You may want to consider packing a CO2 detector for your room. Codes may not be the say as US. Theri have been reports of people succumbing in their sleep because of it.
Those little containers that you use for decanting do leak. I have used them twice, and twice they leaked. Even after I was so careful not to get shampoo or conditioner on the seal area, no luck. Any suggestions?
Hi! Amazing videos :) Im doubting between a 55-40-20cm luggage or the same model 55-35-20/25 expandable… what would you recommend, at the end both have 43L, just expandable goes small until 39L. The model is Samsonite Respark. Thanks a lot for your help!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I think I did no make the question properly... My question is more related with how many companies are changing their carry on policies from 55x40 to 55x35. So maybe the 55x40 will be extra cost in a near future as the trend is to change to a smaller carry on...at least here, in EU.
You probably don't travel economy hence more liberties with the carryons you could bring. on international flights, i can never know when security agents would ban me from having a crossbody bag on me in addition to the one carryon luggage i'm allowed, so i try to have layers of tops with pockets on them, pants with pockets on them. i also did this so i could meet the 15# carryon limit. with all that you packed, did you meet the 15# limit? did you have a crossbody bag/belt bag/fanny pack on you in the cabin?
Hi we bought tickets United going and did not have to weigh and returning bought tix on KLM and did have to weigh coming from Budapest to Amsterdam. I was under but do not remember the weight. Hubby’s was too heavy but his suitcase is steel. We were allowed a personal item bag and I wore a crossbody bag. Hope that helps.
Hi Sue all links are in the pinned first comment and in the paragraph below each video for any link you need. If I remember correctly those were at the end of the post.
Im traveling to europe in the next 4 months. I dont know which airline they are booking the ticket yet, but do you know the size of carry on we can take?
For our recent trip to London, we took two adapters - didn't need to use either one, as the hotel room was equipped (to charge two iPhones, two iPads, 2 sets of ear buds. I would suggest something I think you mentioned a while back - and I thought was a great idea, but neglected to do, - was to take some command strip hooks. Our bathroom had only one hook, and no towel rail, so these would have been ideal. We opted for the green service (which meant we didn't get room cleaning/linen service every day) and the towels remained wet without anywhere to hang them.
If you have precheck the liquids can stay in the bag. But liquids are supposed to be in a clear quart sized bag and be prepared to take it out if needed.
Switzerland not part of Europe? I'm sure that'll be a surprise to the Swiss. 😂 Europe & the EU (European Union) are two different things. Switzerland is definitely in Europe but not in the EU. 😊

Esp the liquids pouch, airpods, tp for energencies, etc., journal, compression sox, and tiny containers for moisterizer and liquid makeup. Also the yellow rain jacket-looked cute. More but I forgot! thanks for everything, Elly from Castle Rock, CO
Elly I’m so jealous you get to live in Eagle Rock! Welcome home and thanks so very much!
Laurie, could you do a test on the phone straps for preventing your phone from being snatched out of your hands while taking pictures. This happened to us this summer in London ( we still have our phone) just a few bruises and scratches but we won 🙌🏻 I saw a lot of people using them.
I would just test for yourself based on what fits your wrist the best. So scary! But then return what you do not love.
Thank you for mentioning CPAPs!
Sure thing!
Welcome home and so glad you had a great trip! Thanks for the update.
Okay that gets my creativity going. I love that concept for in-flight essentials!
Thanks for sharing!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie It could be that manufacturers have caught up because so many products ship around the world. IDK
Still stalking for the backpack Bernado jacket & getting excited to plan next years trips. So many awesome tips, as usual ~ Hello Aullie and Happy Sunday Laurie.
Finally tracked them down-did you see the discount codes? Love them
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I did. Thank you !
So happy you're interested in our pieces! We have more functional pieces launching for the season, so stay tuned!
So glad you got to be there!
Hi Laurie!
I have been watching your videos here and there and you just got me going because your videos are not boring and you are very engaging!
I’m so glad!
Yay for pill organizers! Glad your travels have been great
Thank you for all the info. Been out of the game for 13 years and finally got a new passport. Worked for an airline and I am finally ready to travel out of the country because of YOU❤. Even going to apply to PRE check etc. the best was the Sunflower 🌻 program and the extra help from TSA. 🙏 THANK YOU
I am so glad you did it! Welcome back
Laurie, thanks for another great tips video!
Same with the charger. Oh our river was flooded in September. Just got bussed from boat to boat. It was awful but that’s weather. Poured!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I saw that on a Viking FB group. As the old song goes, “Everywhere you go, you always take the weather with you.” 🙄
I love the scarf you're wearing!
Thank you! I linked similar as I think it’s sold out.
We are leaving on our first European trip on Friday. Your videos have been so helpful. Thank you!
Have fun! So happy for y’all.
Fun video, Laurie! Happy travels!
Thank you! You too!
We just took a river cruise that started in Lake Cómo and ended in Amsterdam. Awesome!!
Oh wow how beautiful!
I have those pants in tall in 3 colors, they are the BEST travel and hiking pants! Most comfortable pants I've ever owned and dry super fast. I just ordered the black backpack-strap jacket. It is on save for $99.00 and you can get a 15% discount off that right now.
That’s why I was so excited to show them! The straps are so helpful!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I'm so glad you did! Keep the great videos coming, I've learned so much from you!
Hey Laurie! I just got a pair of the water-resistant pants. Was surprised at how lightweight they are. Will definately need to wear something underneath them in the cold! They are very comfy!!
One hack is to wear leggings or Cuddl Duds under them.
Thanks for all the advice you give!
I’m so glad you loved them! They are so soft! But the kept 5 days of rain off of me.
I appreciate your advice and product suggestions. We are planning a big vacation next year, and your suggestions have me thinking and rethinking what I should pack. So Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! And have such a great trip. If you forget something, you can just get it there or do without.
Hi Laurie. Lots of great ideas. TFS.
Thanks so much!
I travel with toilet seat covers, they come in a travel friendly bag. Saved me a few times. Thanks for all your tips to travel carry on only, much needed now that I am non rev a lot.
Great tip! And good luck
I bought some TP with me when I traveled China. Matador also has a great liquid pouch that I use for shampoo.
Yes my son has their liquid bag.
Great ideas!!! I live not far from Lake Garda. A magnificent area. Some of my favorite places around the lake to go are Sirmione, Malcesine, Lazise. You can also take a boat from those places to go to the other side of the lake. Have fun!!
Loved it! Did the boat ride around Sirmione and took a pasta making class!

I love it but have to wear a shirt underneath.
Hi Laurie always enjoy seeing your darling dog. Thank you for all the tips. Carol in San Francisco
Hi Carol! He says hi
Good to know-that’s what I was expecting but both times they were stocked.
Oh yes they do. Have a great trip!
Thank you! I’m off to France for a painting retreat in June!
Oh wow it’ll be wonderful!!!!
Hey Laurie! Love your channel. We’ve been to Lake Como area twice- Belliago and Ravenna. You will love it!!!
Oh my word it was divine! Absolutely loved Garda too,
Laurie those pouches for the wet shampoo bar are now $20, which seems like an awful lot just to keep your shampoo bar or soap dry. If/when you find something more economical please share! Thanks! (I’m now wondering if drying it off with a hairdryer & placing in a baggie or covered soap dish would work).
Oh yes that would work. I love this bag.
On a side note, your hair highlites always look amazing! What do you ask for when you go to get your hair done? They never do mine light enough.
Thanks! I use high lights and low lights. I tell her I want a bright bleach-not an orange or dull one.

Wore them to Hawaii (my old lady legs don’t look great in shorts). 😊 Went back for another pair.
Yes the trench coat is your rain coat. Woohoo!!! Have a beautiful trip. Jean jackets can be great!
You are such a font of information, which I have used on our trips. Lake Garda is wonderful. The scenery is amazing, not so crowded. If you have not been to Verona, which is nearby, please visit. I can give you restaurant recommendations for Verona if you want.
Oh my word we loved it and would go again tomorrow!
Thanks Laurie🎯🎯🎯
You bet!
I agree with the usb cord; if you forget it, at least you have the portable charger.
What eSIM do you use when traveling? How do you use it? Thx

Hi, definitely do not check it until the gate. They may even have room for you to stow it in the overhead bins. Ask when the gate agents walk up and start working at the desk. The ticketing people will not know that information. And have fun either way!

Yes they have to fit in the quart sized bag. I have not seen sensitive ones.
You may want to consider packing a CO2 detector for your room. Codes may not be the say as US. Theri have been reports of people succumbing in their sleep because of it.
Which of the jackets you listed have the interior straps? Or do they all?

@@TravelTipsbyLaurie COOL! Thank you :)
Those little containers that you use for decanting do leak. I have used them twice, and twice they leaked. Even after I was so careful not to get shampoo or conditioner on the seal area, no luck. Any suggestions?
The shallow ones will if you do not use thick lotion. Mine have never leaked. If you take more, the GoToob are great for more amount.
Hi! Amazing videos :) Im doubting between a 55-40-20cm luggage or the same model 55-35-20/25 expandable… what would you recommend, at the end both have 43L, just expandable goes small until 39L. The model is Samsonite Respark. Thanks a lot for your help!
I just do not know.

It has been delayed another year.
Compression leggings and socks are all for people with LONG legs. They bunch up and cut off my circulation.

Im traveling to europe in the next 4 months. I dont know which airline they are booking the ticket yet, but do you know the size of carry on we can take?
Hi, you will have to check the dimensions for that airline.
@TravelTipsbyLaurie lol, I have literally never traveled before so I may play it safe and get the international TravelPro
Thanks; we have needed them the 3 Europe trips this year and last Christmas. The only drawback of the hooks is sometimes they can take the paint off.
Do I need to keep my toothpaste deodorant bar soap in my carry-on for my backpack
If you have precheck the liquids can stay in the bag. But liquids are supposed to be in a clear quart sized bag and be prepared to take it out if needed.
I have found solid
Perfume
Insect repellent
Deodorant
Sunscreen
Toothpaste
Solid soap and conditioner
Face soap
Laundry sheets
Solid stain remover
Motion sickness bands
Solid mouthwash
Solid room freshener
