My Dad was a Lineman for 44 years. He renewed some poles one time a brought them home. Turned out they were worm hole chestnut. Damn they sawed into some beautiful boards.
I’ve cut a fair number of poles. None were cedar. Using them for beams for a backyard chapel. Soaked them in used diesel motor oil. They’ll be around for a while. Good to see you back.
Down here in Georgia the termites would chow down on that cedar. I know: I've replaced cedar with ground contact that had become like jarlsberg cheese.
Nicely done Jeremy! Cedar saw dust kicks my butt, yous a brave man!

Looks like a new hangout to me. You gonna put a beer cooler in that sumbitch?
I have cut lots of these poles into some very nice beams and 1x material. Hit very little metals as long as you give over them good before milling.
Awesome
How do you go about getting utility poles
I think I would pour the piers and attach the post to it.

Oh no.
Good for anything outdoors, definitely NOT for any indoor applications
I think I would have planted the round poles in the ground for the posts. The creosote end in the ground.
I have been wondering this....
I will say this, and I know for FACT that a creosote pole is the easiest to climb!! But sawing?? Ai'nt got a clue either. Good to see you back buddy.
I need to get the poles on the chopping block! Good to hear from you Joe.
Been a while! Will you post a link to your golf channel please?

Let’s see some more videos
Cedar poles set in the ground with concrete with no other treatment will rot out in 10 years or less.
Ya should use a Metal Detector on all Logs ! Sorry just Saying
I know
What in the world are you saying
Diesel & oil or diesel and tranny fliud mix, applied to what goes in the ground would have done the trick. (Nice beams!)
