When apple eventually makes a 120hz display, it’s gonna cost a small fortune
I’m afraid it’s not up to Apple. All they can do is to push Samsung or LG or AU Optronics or Sony or Sharp to start manufacturing a 5K panel with 120Hz, and I hope they do, but it all boils down to volume.
@@pooofykittensyep TB4 bandwidth supports 5K 120 Hz no problem. I’d imagine they’d make it mini LED or OLED. I can’t imagine they’d be using an IPS panel.
They already sell one lol (the pro display xdr) and yes its 6k (the price not the screen resolution lol)

Probably the best display money can buy in terms of picture quality.. but the 60hz refresh rate kills it for me.
Do they even make 5K panels above 60Hz yet? That’s a bummer really.

@@pooofykittensconsidering 4K 240 Hz monitors are already in production, being released in Q1 2024, then 5K 120 Hz would be well within the bandwidth limits and could exist.
If any manufacturer makes a 5K 120 Hz display, it’ll likely be Apple if we’re being honest.
Like 2k$ and then the insolence of it. I‘m staying with 4K 120 Hz and scaling down…
@@MrCheckernici it’s going to be 3k most likely, if not more. I’m using mediocre 4K right now, and in Windows it’s much more pleasant than in Mac OS due to scaling flexibility. For Mac I really really want a 5k or 6K screen. And I wish there were more glossy high-end screens out there….
Nano textured mutes the vibrancy by quite a lot. Without is MUCH better colors and pop.
I’m beginning to edit in HDR so that’s a deal breaker for me
Lack of HDR is probably the one thing that irks me most.
It’s beautiful but I can’t go back to 60hz after being on 144 for so many years 😅
Honestly, I switch between 60 and 144 pretty consistently. At first, it feels rough, but for the work I do on my Mac setup, it’s tolerable at best.
I absolutely will be upgrading to a single 4K 240 Hz OLED monitor for my Windows/Mac workstation as soon as they start selling in Q1 2024.

Looks ok, picture/brightness/color reproduction is great. 27" and 60hz refresh rate makes it completely not worth the money.
27” isn’t the issue, I actually prefer it as I find 32” really pushing too big. The real crime here is 60 Hz refresh rate on a high end display in 2024.

Thank you, so much for sharing. This is, just what Apple's new "Studio Display" is for persons with either a newer laptop or M-1 processor desktop and also live in a home with no Apple branded monitors. The experience of having a fully Apple system (i.e. monitor, computer, keyboard, track-pad, and mouse, etc.) is truly special. However, I already own an Apple 27-inch LED Cinema (none thunderbolt) Display which, already has a resolution better than 1080p. So, I am going to hold off on buying this first generation of the "Studio Display" (smile...smile).
I love the build quality. It's such a beautiful product and the picture quality is probably great to but given that it's 60hz I'd rather just use the display in my 16" mbp until they fix that screens refreshrate.

You have to check out the Alogic clarity monitor. Apple studio styling and a glossy screen with 400 nits brightness with hdr. It’s a 4 k monitor with 60hz but with hdr turned on the image quality is 90% of the studio display’s. The images just pop! It’s around the $600-700 mark with a height adjustable stand.
I would so buy a folding iPhone. I really enjoy iPhone, but am seriously considering switching just for a foldable

I’m having some low range bass distortion on my studio display speakers. Out of the box!
Vocals and most audio sounds terrific but when the bass kicks in a few songs, the thump sounds like a torn drum 🥁 even at half volume.
The same songs at same settings are sounding amazing on my 24” M1 iMac.
These displays are not even available on display at the physical stores, where I live, to go and double check if it’s widespread or something that’s normal.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting an apple monitor because of the good resolution for gaming but 60 Hz is a little low for that price don’t get me wrong. A high resolution monitor does cost that much. More specifically actually looking at the Pro XDR displays that cost like $5000 plus $1000 for the stand making it $6000 for one. I was originally planning to get two so that would be $12,000 and AppleCare for each one is $500 and for two is $1000 so the total would be $13,000. Like does a whole down payment for a car actually this is how much a car cost back then. Safe to say I’m probably not gonna get anytime soon or in the future.😢😂

Nobody wants 60hz. 144hz minimum for a display this expensive. With it locked to 60 what the heck are you paying for to justify the cost? My Xbox and TV pushes higher for a fraction of what this costs
