I agree about the 56 being the best value. I originally wanted the 72 but at almost double the cost when not onsale it just didn't pencil. I did the 56 and 15 side drawers for $650 cheaper than the 72. The money I saved I spent on tools
It’s really weird how they priced these boxes versus the 72”. The 72” does have a slightly beefier frame and caster set. However, the drawers, slides and hardware are all the same.
Couldn’t agree with you more about the power drawer. I purchased the 72” about a month ago and the power drawer is a complete waste of space. I wish HF would sell individual drawers and slides so people could modify the boxes.
I have the 56 inch bottom and top cabinet, same setup you have. The bottom large drawer is good for a take away bag. I used to do building maintenance and I have a tool bag that has a great number of tools to do handyman type work. It fits in the drawer really well and if I need to do a small to medium size job I have a bag that is ready to go. I did add two 15 inch hang on boxes one on each end. My old 42" Craftsman box had way more drawers that were much small, I need more drawers to separate stuff out. So far I really happy with mine. Mine is the Chevy orange and I unloaded mine with a Kubota tractor with pallet forks. LOL

I really want to upgrade because of the new colors but I always liked the shorter drawers. I hope they want to sell them separate or maybe make them custom order. I like more drawers. The old 44 had the right amount of tall drawers.
The best bang for the money in tool boxes in my opinion are the tekton boxes. They are made by Rousseau up in Canada 🇨🇦. So no Chinese poor quality made stuff. They can hold 400 lbs per drawer and are 30” deep. Only downside is they don’t have a large top box or hutch yet but they seem to be adding new additions all the time so it’s probably coming down the pipeline at some point.
Have been patiently waiting to financially be comfortable with buying a us general 72” box, never thought about getting a 56 and a 42. More space and cheaper doing that than buying the 72 box. Couple questions though where did you get the risers for the 42, and when you have time could you give me an overall height measurement when the top hatch is open? My garage is an attached garage with a low ceiling and wanna know if it’ll fit as that is the lower and upper box combo I’d like to get.

Looking good. I fully agree on why they don’t use the same size castors. I agree with the spacers. Very nice setup.
Thanks 👍

In an upcoming video…I may try to remove the power setup and just use it as a regular drawer.
Cool video I’ve got five boxes rolling of tools three tops like the way you have put a56-42 combo together. Been thinking of switching to this setup.
It’s been a good combo for me.

I like the “take away” bag idea a lot.
I have the 42” (in blue!) also. Had the lower box about a year and a half and just got the top box a couple months ago. Very happy with them so far.
They’re such a great value. I will probably purchase every version they come out with.
Do the side cabinets fit on the 42" lower? On the site it only mentions the 56 and 72
@@troynicholas363 Yes on the series 3 42"
Man, I see you all the time, man! And I'm like " I'm not subscribed to this guy yet??? Lol. Love you content man! Let's goooo

Hi, which spacers did you used to raise the 42 inch box? Thanks in advance
Love the set-up! (Try spraying the slides with SuperLube. That stuff is GREAT!).
Thanks for the tip!
What spacers did you use?
I believe they were 2.25”
love the blue oval representing
I’m a Ford fan! Truth be told though…I like all the domestic manufacturers.
I purchased my first, a 19 f150 stx "love it so far. Yes I love my hyundai's 4 in the book for me😅
Please do a full tour once you get it organized!
I have a really nice tour of the 56” on the channel. The 42” will be more of a “budget” organization setup.

I totally agree!
What spacers did you use for the casters

@@DemoDad101 do u have a link

I dunno….they’re much more expensive than these.
I mean they're probably made with global materials AKA Chinese steel anyway

I got the risers from 132-fab.com. I’ll have to measure the height. You can also remove the top lids and just use the top as a shelf.
@@DemoDad101 yeah I may have to do that, yeah sometime if you got a second and don’t mind taking a measurement
Just Pony up and by the 72 inch box
@@neilbrown82 spend more money for less space? 🤔
