I think they need to increase the damage it takes for metal walls especially on explosives. I think a 1.5× damage increase would b perfect. Metal can definitely withstand more than wood. Like come on devs.
Yea metal should be considerably more difficult to get through... in reality a gernade isn't gonna do much to a steal wall... wood yea but metal not so much.. they wanna keep it realistic but it does Have some unrealistic issues... I remember when bullets wouldn't pass through wood fence gates but would metal 🤦🤦😆😆. We def need more construction supplies , like cement bricks concrete. Diff colors n types of metal.. aluminum steel n tin.. chains razer wire would be nice.. ya kno like barb wire gives one cut every 2 sec your in it.. well razer should give 4 per sec.. and it would be nice to be able to board up windows and doors instead of having to build an entire wall I mean it's kinda ridiculous lol
"Social Engineering" is the tried and true quickest way to get access to a base. Its also the most dangerous. Gas grenades are wonderful though, you did an excellent job on this vid saving the best bits for last, lol.

If a base is poxed and they spawn in it will force spawn them to the nearest safe spawn point. Bingo, they are out of there base. We camp the nearest safe spawn when doing it and kill their alts as they log in.

@@Ooooyerr Yes, social engineering is a tried and true method to getting loot in Day Z. its amazing how many people want to trust others in Day Z.
Big tip about brute forcing locks: People have a tendency to set birth years or other significant dates (as they're easy to remember), so I usually start around 1950 and go up from there. I can't even count how many times I've found the combo to be somewhere between 1980 and 2015. It's not guaranteed to work, but it doesn't hurt to try it first

Pro tip: The best melee weapons for raiding are the Pickaxe, and Splitting Axe. By spamming the attack button very close to a target such as a gate, these two weapons perform the "tapping" animation. Tapping is much faster than swinging, and it can be used to aim the strikes at a very precise spot, like a frame sticking out of a ceiling.
I am getting back into dayz and play on vanilla servers.
I see so many 1 wall bases hiding in buildings and wondered if melee weapons would be worth it? Seems like it would be hard to collect so many axes etc.

@@zsean6788 You just need one pickaxe if you have enough sharpening stones. When the tool becomes Damaged, it takes 50 hits to go Badly Damaged, and then 70 Hits to go Ruined. Repair it before it ruins.

@@strikeb1t More than 3 probably. at least for metal gates. Haven't done the math. I use mixed methods. It's best to spend melee tools first to avoid noise, and then go loud with the guns. I hide my backpack nearby if I raid in segments (like melee first, then I go get nades , then I go get guns and ammo)

Sucks that metal sheets dont have that extra HP considering that they are heavy to carry and sometimes you run the risk of getting shot as you walk with them.

They keep anything from penetrating so you have to use them methodically. You can pattern metal, wood, metal, wood ect so the explosives only destroy one layer until you get to wood or.. just do all metal. Either way sheet metal is great if you're layering close together
my theory on why metal walls aren't good against explosives is because the wooden frame breaks before the walls (and since the frame holds the walls...)
just with a little bit of reflexion, you can easily conclude that brute forcing locks is the most time-efficient manner of entering a base. Why?
1. Straight forward method without the need to find objects
2. Massive time-saving
3. Keeps things silent
4. Ability to progress through the mutliple doors without being noticed.
(edit: talking obviously about 4 digit locks. If it's a 3 digit lock then its basically open market)

It might be the most time efficient, but also the most boring. When looking for explosives you have a chance of finding other things that have value and pvp action aside from all the other entertainment value DayZ offers.
@@freerider3434 definitely true but when you see a beautiful building like the prison island taken by someone, I usually know that if I go north trying to find 20 grenades and 3 claymores, I will just lose time an immense time and finish by forgeting it.

Pox is a great way to force any alts that they try to spawn in with out of their base. If you log in while an area is gassed it forces you to spawn at the nearest safe spawn. Camp that spawn and kill them when they log in.

Once you’ve destroyed the gate (not wall, right?), what happens to the code lock?
When you gas bases they can log out, the game will then move their characters to a safe location, usually the nearest town with a gas respawn zone. Then that gives them a window to attack from behind.
That is only with random gas attack right? Are you saying for sure that POX Grenades, if you log out and back in, it will move you?
Doesnt move your character if they are poxing you.
Ive gotten into a base when I found a badly damaged camopy tent and placed it near an object which let me climb on top of the tent and get in the base. Though that was just lucky circumstances. I just found a base and im thinking about waiting outside with a sniper to knock the people when they get back

that´s why i barricade random buildings near my actual stash and put a lock on it... someone might waste his items on the bait doors ...and there is: nothing, or maybe a wodden crate with a Teddybear inside xD

Correct, not an option on vanilla. Some modded have it, then they make the hacksaw rare.
Reason why I’m watching this video:
I’m a new DayZ player, I spawned in and there was a church that was fenced up. I notice the lock and tried random combos. Nothing worked so I began punching the wall, to my surprise I apparently began to bleed. I patched up and then began to bleed again after punching the wall for several more minutes. I was out of bandages and decided to keep punching anyway. Then I remembered I had a knife so I stabbed the air around the wall like an idiot. I then found out I can do poses. I tried a few of them and to my horror I realized there was a “suicide” pose. How odd, I said to myself. I notice my character bring the knife up to my throat. I pushed R2 just for shits and giggles and my character apparently successfully completed the emote. The End…

I raided a well enforced house as they had not taken into consideration the normal outhouses and fences I could jump on, then jump over their fences. Of course, I could not get back out again 😢

Why would you use cooking pot.i tried and if you drop nades on the ground and just activate one they all blow up and destroy the fence.also you leave one by one with 3-4 steps distance and they blow in a row you can circle a buildind with nades and blow one and they all follow up.Great vid keep up.

Hey how long on average does it take to brute force the 4 dial lock cause I don’t have the patience to whack a walk with an axe for an hour nor do I have to ammunition to shoot down the wall

We just tested destroying a gate with an improvised explosive. We put in 2x plastic explosive. When setting it off with a kitchen timer it did way less damage than setting it off with a remote detonator...

Do you maybe know if you can get the combination lock back if the wall is broken? (if yes you can just steal the lock for yourself)
I believe it will fall off, but for instance if you use explosives on the gate, the combo lock could get ruined from the damage.
another good tip: camp the door and wait for the owner to open it. When the door is ajar, shoot them in the head! This happened to me once and I didn't play for 9 months lol

Hi, one question that might be stupid, just saying im a newbie to the game.
Im wondering how "no raid" servers do actually work. Does it mean that damage to any construction is off and the only think that i have to do to secure the base is make a wall with a lock?

Yes these servers have disabled base damage. There is a server config that server owners can use to disable base damage.
With that said... DayZ Players can be really sneaky and may find ways to boost into your base by going over the walls. So just keep that in mind.
So if there is a landmine ready to go and a throw a nade near it will both explode or just the nade
The landmine will explode too, as long as the nade hits it. (dayz physics can be weird, and even a small pebble can block things sometimes)

40mm grenades explode just like regular grenades? if you bunch them up next to each other and pull one pin? My Sarka was stolen by a friendly who moved bases, and now I found his new base with my Sarka. Revenge is not sweet, it's made of explosives, 30 grenades to be exact :)
Yes 40mm will also explode when damaged. Just take care to back up more than usual. 40mm has a pretty big blast radius.
I would like to hear more about the Raid Method: Social Engineering. In particular if you may or may not have done this. Maybe you can elaborate in your next video about this?

if i was to shoot through the bottom of a gate with a 4 dial lock on would it drop the lock on the floor if i only shoot through the bottom half of the gate?
Yes it should, bottom half and frame.
does breaking down a wall from the outside leave planks and nails? our base keeps getting raided and we are always left with planks and nails. starting to think someone has logged off in the base?
hmmm only way I could see planks is if they destroyed the bottom half, then crawled in, and dismantled the upper walls.
So if someone tries to blow up the metal wall of a metal gate from the outside, does that hurt the frame more than if it was a wooden wall?
it seems to be about the same... as weird as that sounds. I think its because explosives penetrate both metal and wood walls and hit the frame.

Yes.
Can you put grenades in the ied? Or does it have to be plastics? If so how many ied with nades will blow a wood wall?
You can put nades in the imp ied, it will only do as much damage as a grenade though, like it won't add extra damage more than what a grenade would do on it's own.
Is it possible to use 40mm nades with normal nades? Like putting eleven 40 mm nades and datonate them with a normal frag grenade. Will this work?
Yes I believe it would blowing up 40mm with a regular nade. The plastic explosive does not though.

Yes they are the same as fences in terms of damage while raiding.

I am not sure to be honest... it might be the same. But when you are inside you can also use a crowbar to dismantle I believe.
Can you use a landmine set off with a grenade to do extra damage? Like if I had 7 grenades and 3 landmines could I use that to get through a wall?

You missed one you can us nails to brake down a wall. Put nails in hand and on Xbox click y till you have one nail in hand and go at it. It takes about half a box to destroy one wall.

@@Nitno yes it's like meleeing with fist without getting cut and I have never timed it but it feels like it takes from 30 to 45 minutes per wall. We did 5 walls in 4 hours one night to get a humvee and it was two of us doing it. Sorry I don't know the time it takes all the times I have done it I was not thinking of time lol
Does a grenade damage multiple walls stacked back to back? Or only the one up front?
It does, the rough estimate, is If first wall is destroyed, the wall behind it took about 50% damage. BUT in 1.20 you will have to place your walls farther apart (in vanilla settings).

Should work the same, GL are the same damage as regular nades.

I believe the worse quality the lock, the faster it'll break. Less hits. Yeah any damage that can Penn a wall would damage it

They code lock raided you and put the same code back on again
I tried to turn my gate around so it wouldn’t be visible when opened. Meaning players had access to the fences inventory, was this my mistake?
you want the side with pannels facing the outside and the side with the wooden bars on the inside. If they have access to the inventory I believe they can dismantle the base with crowbars or hatchets.

If you can target the inside, destroying the frame would bring the wall down. So in theory about half the damage if you already inside JUST shooting the frame.

If it's a gate, it would likely be the same. Explosives penetrate the walls on either side.
Everything I’ve ever heard about bases was that it takes 6 nades to but busy a wall
That was the case BEFORE 1.18. Since 1.18 is was doubled to 12 nades.
Had a nice little base 5 walls thick, with 5 locks logged out for a few hours, raided, on official servers which I am about to give up on, luckily I log out with with my two nods and most bullets/ fav guns, but still, 5 walls lol I don't think it's hackers cause I had some loot hidden outside my base and they didn't touch that, but took everything inside, even some shit gear and heavily damaged guns, how quickly can you even break 5 walls down?
Dang thats messed up. All walls different combo? if it was a large group it does go a lot quick raiding
@Nitno all different combos yeah, they just broke the half bottom of each wall, didn't go through the locks, it's a nice little setup but oh well, will probably go to a community server if there is a wipe, still having fun on officials tbh despite the occasional hacker/esp etc.

I have heard that metal walls you can be shot through, but not wood. Is this accurate?
Hmm not that I am aware of.
Any one know the numbers for melee weapons, how many per wood wall?
Thing is now melee weapons can spawn in damaged / badly damaged. It used to be about 5 weapons, I'm guessing likely 10 or more now.

I am not sure what you mean. Yep the gate will be pretty much the same as a wall.

Sure can! Same damage as a regular grenade. Just make sure nothing is blocking the blast, even a tiny pebble in the way or slight incline can make things get a little unreliable.

I believe it depends on the raid settings that server uses. The values may be close to the same, or different and made to be more tanky.

Yep same raiding methods. The lock will fall off after the frame is destroyed.
If you have 2 gates, one in front of the other, and place c4 in front of the 1st gate will the c4 damage the gate behind it?
Yes it has some pen where it will go through, I'll be making a video with more detail on that. But in general, a 2nd gate will take less damage than the first if stacked.

Pro tips. You don’t have to use all NBC gear when getting gassed by PO-X grenade. Just use your gas mask and you all set. Ik don’t make sense. It happened to me. I took gas affect but no cut effect from it when I was in bunker battle with an player and I pop an PO-X by accident.
interesting! Some servers are gas-mask only by mod. Was this possibly the case?
@@Nitno it happened in official server. I ran in the PO-X gas when battling player in bunker and only get cough from it. Of course this was only five second due to adrenaline. However I had a guy I travel with rush in while the gas grenade is still there got gassed and sick but no cut damage. Maybe it due to glitch or something. It only happened one time.

Yeah it's kind of crazy. It's a tough balance between mega-clans that have tons of nades, and the lone survivor that just wants to knock down a couple walls.
@@Nitno that's my issue specifically I'm solo and have a bunch of explosives but not enough to take down 4 walls yet lol trying to save up to raid a clan basd on official. I just hid mine in spots out of sight and out of mind. Hard for them to raid, if they don't normally get loot in there and it can't be seen from outside. Plus I love to use mines and tripwire

It used to be yes, then it got updated to be 12
Also, if they have barrels and a car outside the base, you can bring a friend and stack the car parts/barrels next to a wall, hop over and soft side it. I have raided more bases this way than any other method. If you have enough people you can make a human staircase and literally just climb over

how did u split rhe Glass from the POX Grenade?
One is a Pox Grenade (for the grenade launcher) the other is a different item which can be found, and is just a Glass Vial like a hand grenade.

should just be open, if a crate is locked it must be modded.
