    Great review, thank you. I just got a pair with the Q250c, however the manual states to use a stand of 18 to 24”S, I think you had your stands at 28 to 30”, what’s your thoughts on having a lower stand? Thank you for your help.

    I only started getting into audio equipment a few years ago. I bought the Pioneer BS22 speakers which were great for an entry level system. Nice sound & good base. I’d like to upgrade. Are the q150s a substantial upgrade? I do like strong base but don’t need something to shake my room. I have a small room & listen to r&b, soundtracks, & Jazz.
    Great video!!

    Have you heard the lsxii?
    I love my q150's, but I need a set for a desk next to a computer and I my feel like buying an amp or dac . I'm worried about the small size.

    I also have a Kef surround system, mines are the kef Q300 front ported and the Q200c driven by a Marantz slimline but the front two are running on Cyrus smart power monoblocks. they sound amazing and I am more than satisfied with them. I also got the LS50s now but they are running a two channel set up with a Marantz PM7005 WITH AN INTEGRATED DAC AMAZING. I won't look into the other speaker manufacturer for sure and only invest only in kef. i would like to see what you think of the R series and compared to the Q

      Thujan Krishnakumar for the price they are Amazingly good man, I heard B&W which cost 7times as much and the dynamics on the ls50 plus imaging was as good if not better.

      @@arongatt Have you had a chance to try LS50 yet? I’d love to hear from someone who may have upgraded from q150s (150 = My main speakers, driven by Fosi ZA3) I’m thinking of someday upgrading to LS50s, but I wonder if it’ll be the world of difference going from some cheap Onkyo bookshelves to q150 was for me.

    Which do you like more? R100 or Q150?
    Oh what wall mount are you using for the R100 in the background?

    Bought the Q150 new. First impression is not good with the super cheap and flimsy cabinet. The SQ is okay but the aluminum tweeter produces harsh sound. Not impress at all. I have it boxed up and have it returned.

    Are these better than UB5s? I’m thinking of getting these for my computer.

    • @nextbestthingstudio5808
      @nextbestthingstudio5808 5 лет назад

      For a desktop setup you can't go wrong with the q150s. You make the most of their coaxial design in a near-field setup. For the UB5s I haven't heard them yet so I can't compare.

    • @viciadoemhalo3
      @viciadoemhalo3 5 лет назад

      I think those are much better than the UB5, much more detailed sound and less strain at louder levels.

  • @tietoliikenne
    @tietoliikenne 4 года назад

    I tried using the AE301 an Acoustic Energy in near-field and it sounds great, but it's incredibly fatiguing so I think it was never meant for it. For these Q150, will I experience the same problem? I do not have problem with ear fatigue listening to my Sundara, and any other speakers or even my Creative computer speakers. But I certainly want a passive bookshelf like the Q150 :)

    • @AdamsOlympia
      @AdamsOlympia 7 месяцев назад +1

      The bright, top heavy speakers like Klipche or my Adam A7X are indeed very fatiguing for me. I don’t get that at all with the Kef Q150 or Q350 - it’s well rounded and something i can listen to all day.

    Will your review the rest of the series in comparison? Would like to see how more expensive speakers scale if we’re talking bang for buck.

  • @petertrout7866

    What about the Klipsch RP 600 m aren’t they the most dynamic speakers around? Isn’t that what you would want in a home theatre speaker. Also isn’t home theatre klipsch’s thing?

    • @AdamsOlympia
      @AdamsOlympia 7 месяцев назад

      It’s just personal preference at this point. They’re both great speakers, with their own recognizable sound. . The Klipch is very bright, which can be fatiguing for some people , while the KEF is more well rounded for my tastes,

    I'm thinking of getting these and would be hooking them to a vintage Carver AV 100 Receiver with sonic holography @ 150 watts per channel RMS, 8 ohms driven and a Technics Equilizer. Would the Q150s sound good with this set up?

    What can you pair up with the Q150 as center speaker and sub? i'll be running this w/ marantz sr5012. Thanks!

    • @nextbestthingstudio5808
      @nextbestthingstudio5808 5 лет назад

      As for the center channel you will benefit from the KEF Q650. You want to match the same sound signature as the Q150 speakers. If you want to be a bit unorthodox and save some money, you can try and find a single Q150 and lay it horizontally for the center channel. With the sub woofer, it depends if you want something musical or for movies. Try the KEF Q400 if you can still find one or try a sub offering from SVS for movies. With sub woofers you can always look around for a good deal preferably a 10" driver or bigger. It really comes down to budget.

      @@RayPaganJr Would love to hear more about your LS50 experience! I’ve been eying them as a potential future upgrade from my q150 .. Sounds like they might have been a disappointment or just a marginal improvement over q150?
      They probably need a 300 watt stereo amp or a couple 150+ momoblocs to get the most out of them, from what I’ve heard. I’d probably just get a second Fosi ZA3 if I ever get the LS50s.

    "notorious"
    Check this out:
    ruclips.net/video/Lmj6OAuSp5s/видео.html
    I had the q150s expecting to upgrade my lounge setup and was surprised to find from anything 60hz on up the 3001SEs sounded way more transparent open and clear. the q150s in terms of coloration fall between the 2001.3s and the 3001SEs. the driver is good but the box is not.
    in reference to the air gap, that's something that was solved with the 3001SEs as well
    imgur.com/a/hGFqq8y
    but all the tech that went to the 3001SEs including the carbon nano tech and other trade secrets were sequestered for the followup LS series and the blade while the EGG series returned to form with the e301s being just redesigns of the 2001.3s.
    basically the 3001SEs were a no restraints lab exercise in preparation for all the new high end kef speakers while the Q series only has the lowest end drivers and Box designs.
