I've got a question for everyone watching this video. Which of these two Republican politicians do you think best represents who the average republican voter is? Mitch McConnell or Marjorie Taylor Greene? In this specific scenario, for the first time in history, it's not the old white guy who is the torch bearer of the Republican Party. Meanwhile, radical politicians like Trump and MTG are driving the Republican party to become more delusional and unhinged by the day...

We just learned today Snopes fact checked the allegations that Ashely Biden made against her father in her Diary are real.
I do not believe Greene is even a republican. She has deviated so far from the status quo within the republican party that that party itsself becomes unrecognizable just because of her and other ultra right wingers. Mitch McConnell is a classic conservative, so to answer the question, it would be him. Although it used to be way more moderate people within the GOP. But people like MTG and Boebert and many others in either congress or senate should not be in the GOP. They are WAY outside the bounds of that party.
We're witnessing the GOP, and RNC/TNC slow walk this country into being a dictatorship with Trump as it ruler.

When this swings the other way, you get people who unsub from a channel because of their take on a single topic. We got Ukraine funding, Ukraine is an ally blocking Russsia from destabilizing European economy which would TOTALLY screw our economy. Look how much fuel and food prices went up after the invasion- imagine that times 1,000 and all those companies that sell to Europe going under. Not to mention the murder and kidnapping of thousands of children Russia has been doing. So yay bipartisanship!

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans voted FOR Mike Johnson. They merely voted to table the resolution. Which is what Hakeem Jeffries had said the Democrats would do. If the vote to vacate the Seat had gone to the floor, the Democrats would have voted to oust him. Ousting Johnson at this time would have resulted in the next Speaker letting the Government shut down: Seniors would lose Social Security, the Military (and it's Dependents) would not get paid. The economy would suffer.

Exactly! Cenk should know better. He's right about corporate donors on both sides and all that. But truth is last time finding a speaker was a mess. This time would be even worse and more harmful to the country. We can survive 6 more months of Johnson until we win the majority in November. But to wind up with someone worse or not have a speaker at all doesn't benefit anyone. I don't understand why TYT is trying to manipulate his viewers. These past few months I've really started to lose respect for Cenk and TYT.

Forcing the House to do its job, to do the right thing, is an appropriate response. We've lost the ability to tell our legislators to do their jobs. All they do now is follow what their wealthy donors want. Dems didn't side with Johnson to help voters; they sided with him to keep taxpayer dollars siphoned to the rich. You think that's a job well done?

You are wrong about Ukraine, the defence of democracy is vital there and i am afraid that includes the transfering/disposal some of US vast old military stock. The US has mountains of miltary hardware that is never going to be used. Its probably cheaper sending it to Ukraine than safely disposing it. A large percentage of the money goes to US companies that also employ american workers to build new stuff.

Since we seem okay watching the House accomplish nothing, a little drama in watching the Republican side eat itself as a result of its own doing is quite cathartic. Dems didn't vote to keep Johnson in for his appeal to the average person. They voted for him to keep that channel of money flowing to rich donors who shower both parties with money. That's it.

I think he's worse than the previous one and worries me they have an even worse replacement on deck. I've researched a lot of the main players on both sides and I agree especially with you that money is going to both sides of the aisle.

Although Cenk was right in some of the things he said, he is exaggerating many of them. There is more nuance than what he described as “una party” and why the democrats voted to keep Johnson. There were negotiations related to funding for Ukraine for sure, and possibly much more. Not just about donors.

The "uniparty" is such a stupid idea. Americans have fooled themselves into thinking of politics, even historical politics, as two sides. That has been our political parties, almost from day 1 in this country even if some of them died out over time.
But there isn't one party, or two parties. There are overlapping circles of influence and economic interests. It isn't "big oil" is on one side and "green energy" on another, never that simple. It is coal, and its circle, oil and its circle, solar and its circle, hydroelectric or geothermal. Even within "big oil" it is the interests of off-shore drilling, vs those that want to frack, vs those that want to press their thumb down on Venezuela and take their oil.
Sometimes these circles compete with each other, sometimes they compete with totally different industries, like oil companies wanting to raise prices on it while plastics companies would want it lower. All of these interests compete constantly, and they flow and combine and break apart and make alliances and make enemies.
And sometimes, occasionally, their interests coincide with the will of the people, but usually they are only out to pass just enough to placate us, while they continue working for special interests. And those special interests have their individual representatives in their pockets, and those mouthpieces for the corpos fight, just like the corpos.
This is probably 90% of our representatives, at least on the federal level.
true. and while the bills themselves are gray (and loaded with pork), the passing of a bill is binary. it either passes or it doesn't. and this adds to the illusion that one party must be for and the other against. while a broken clock like greene may be right for once, it isn't exactly a time for celebration. promoting the idea that the "duopoly" system can be fixed by completely tearing it down and replacing it may be a dream for the left, but it's also a dream for the right and not in a way that would benefit americans (i.e., project 2025). and even framing things as all left or all right isn't exactly accurate either. just a simplification.
