hah, same, I got this card running in my office rig for ages, perfectly capable for excel, pdf schematic, and some basic 3D render work for architect. I might upgrade to a 4060 next year tho
This card made sense for very narrow situations. My friend gave me at HP version that was pulled from an old work PC. It was used to just push a couple of monitors for a client of his. This was at the start of the pandemic, so I gladly took it. it was okay If you have nothing but was replaced by a 1070ti because Halo Infinite just came out and 3gb just wasnt enough. The kid that I sold it to just used it to play Valorant, Fortnite and some other E sports type games, so he didn't care. This was the start of the pandemic, so this card saved a lot of people from being stuck without a GPU. in 2023 it doesn't make sense unless you have nothing and can find one for $50 or so. I just paid $100 for a 1080 and you can get a 6gb 1060 for a little less.
Right, there's one that's supposedly steel sealed brand new on swappa and the dude has it listed for 365! I'm not sure what pool would pay that much for a 3 GB card that's obsolete, but if he actually sells it, I know where I'll be doing my GPU flipping
I have this card but plan to upgrade soon, it’s been a good 5 years but I get 15 FPS and 30 on a good day on games the use Unreal Engine 5 and other high end engines
Im currently throwing one of these in a DELL T3500 that I threw a Xeon x5690 in just for lulz. Really its only because this 1060 requires a single 6pin, which is all this PSU has.
A 400w PSU is pushing the watt limits, especially on the 12 volt rail side. You should consider at least a quality 500 watt PSU for that build... and preferably the 1060 6GB if you can swing it. I actually run a 500 watt PSU on a GTX 960 with a i5 6500 with zero issues... but no way would I try a 400 watt in it... it is too borderline for start-up and full load.
Hello, question geforce gtx 1060 gtx G1 7GB boot clock, does this support dolby atmos? I have a sonos arc with sub and rear speakers and my TV is a Bravia xbr 75x950h with E-arc, if I plug my soundbar into my gpu will it supposed port dolby atmos?
good to see my first gpu still kicking
Oh yeah!
I got the 3gb version off ebay when it was supposed to be a 6gb version. But paired eith my son's i7-4790 its pretty good
Still pretty capable card. Pretty respectable performance.
I use them as Office PC upgrades since the TDP is low enough where Sata to 6Pin works.

I absolutely share the same view on this guy. I think a revisit to the 1070/ti and the 1080/ti might be in order!
60$? Where can I find one at that price, I can't find it that low.
i got a 1070 for 80 and a 1070ti could be had for 100
Juat got a 1060 3gb for 50 on ebay keep looking
I find them all the time for 65-80$

I just got one off of ebay for 41 dollars through a bid. If i'm scammed then I can prove it though.
Can't wait to see your next stream! Love seeing the older hardware put to the test. (Just turned on notifications so I won't miss it🥳)
Awesome thank you! I'll have another one very soon!

Same had mine since 2017
time flies this thing is 8 years old now! remember this card wasnt even the ideal choice at the time!!

If you're gonna get a 1060 this late in the game may as well get the 6GB model. 3 gigs don't go far with many games.
I got a pre-owned (from a trustful friend) for only 75,00 USD.
Please test the RX 5300. I believe it will be similar to this card.
I just scored one on marketplace for $40
Same 😂😂
I can only get battlefield 2042 to run at 50 fps with this card at 1080p...
Awesome video man. Love it. Much love ❤
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it!
Would like a video on the rx 580 8 gig
picked up a 1060 for 30 bucks recently
please don't ever pop in cyberpunk with this GPU 😭😭😭😭
Is the 1060 3gb worth for the i5 6400 16gb ram and 400w psu? Currently have a gt 720 son should i get the 1060 3gb or not?

I’m just tired of spending all this money of shitty cards but I legit can’t afford the higher end or mid range

I'd say that's audio based & not gpu, so it would depend on your audio card
No sure where you payed 60 bucks card still sells for 180 new
Gtx 1060 5g
Fake it till you make it😂😅😂🤣🤣
