Please stop building these type of MRT in KL residential area. Can't you see this is a serious waste of public money to build such a white elephant project! High above on the ground and far away from individual houses. I bet there's less than 5% of those who live in Sri Damansara will be using this MRT. KL cannot rely on MRT alone. Only KL city centre is suitable for MRT, whereas outside city centre should be using Rapid Bus System (RBS) to connect to the city centre MRT because of the low housing density outside city centre in KL. Cost, building time and running cost of MRT is much much higher than buses, so outside city centre is not suitable for MRT because KL is not like Singapore, Hongkong, Beijing Shanghai where majority were living in high rise building where every km of MRT can serve 10 times more passengers than KL and the cost of serving number of people is ten times lower than in KL. That's the reason why no MRT is making money and 90%of KL people still prefer to drive to work. An exclusive bus lane must be draw out/build in every major road to speed up the bus transportation and to further cut down the road for single driver car to work. A big raise in city centre parking fees plus a looped mini bus in every housing area must be setup to bring people from their home to the main road is also a must in order to make the whole system work. Most importantly, a single transportation card can be use on minibus, buses and MRT will make it so convenient for all passengers and a well established complete system will make 70-80% of ordinary office staff abandoned driving to work.

In my opinion, these projects are generally fine but what we need is a huge improvement in terms of services. Mrt shuttle buses are actually useful as they connect most of the housing areas around the stations. However, I think they should be free as this attracts more people to ride it. They should also add the frequency of these buses like 3-5min per bus at most so that people dont need to wait long, so as the trains. The time interval between the trains should be at most 4 minutes, otherwise people wouldnt be really interested in riding it as it takes long for another train to arrive if they miss it. Like currently the time interval between trains for kajang line require 10 minutes! Which is ridiculous. Because of this, people generally rather drive themselves as they do not want to risk waiting. I went to taiwan before and generally their metro is so much more convenient. The time interval between trains over there just requires 2 minutes, unlike us.

But yes, I agree with some of your point. The government can create a special lane for shuttle buses so that they wont be caught up in the traffic jam. In order to attract people from taking the metro, we need to prevent people from driving themselves in the city. The best way is actually raising parking fees, raising toll fees in the city etc. Because of this, people would rather get bored driving when they need to go through these trouble. However, before doing that, we must improve our public transport service first.

@@R32-e7q Did Malaysia Gov't ever announce the profitability of MRT? Why Shanghai can build 20 MRT lanes in 20years and KL can only build 1.5 Lane (MRT 2 not fully complete) MRT in the same period of time? The density of housing in KL is 10-20times lesser (because most KL people , unlike all MRT cities, live in landed property) than Asia MRT cities like Tokyo,Seoul HK Taipei Singapore. Which implies the cost of using MRT to serve KL people would be 20 times more expensive than Tokyo / Shanghai. No one seems to bother how much Gov't wasting taxpayers money just like millions of Malaysian don't care billions of Ringgits was corrupted by the government officer. They didn't realise every single penny spend by the government is spending the taxpayers money ! Gov't don't earn a single cent themselves ! they collected taxes from all of us! 50000 air-conditioning buses with exclusive bus lane + looped minibus in all residential areas can be accomplished in less than a year to solve KL traffic congestion problems.
