So as a Latino American, first generation American. If you’re wondering my parents nationality is Guatemalan and Mexican. Some of my mother’s friends are calling us traitors, but they could’ve done what my mom did. Did the paperwork. Learned English. Became a United States citizen. Came here legally. She did this before having me because she wanted a better life for herself. Now as an American myself, those people making fun of her are just falling to liberal pressure which I tell my mom to stay strong. We voted for Trump because we believe that he will make a change for this country! With RFK jr and others. We side with the United States of America.

Naturalized citizen from Brazil here. I also voted for Trump with the expectation that illegal aliens would be sent home. There have to be consequences for breaking the law. Otherwise we have a two tier system. A group of people who must obey the law and another who’s allowed to ignore it as they see fit. It’s corrosive to a society and can’t be allowed to continue.

Filling out paperwork is scary stuff. Sometimes, that can get you deported. Much safer to keep a low profile and just live your life under the radar. I grew up in a lot of these communities. Most of them live day-to-day and they keep telling themselves that they’re only here to make a couple dollars before they go back home. Before they know it, they get caught up in the rat race here and they feel trapped. They know they’re here illegally but they can’t really go home because they don’t think they’ve made enough money to get home in the way that they want, meeting the goals that they wanted which impelled them to come here in the first place. And family, always family, keeps asking them to send more and more so they never will have enough money to actually go home the way they would like. They call it the golden cage, la jaula de oro. It’s not as easy as people make it sound to fill out the paperwork and just make yourself legal. Becoming a citizen cost me a fortune. The only reason I was able to do it was because of Ronald Reagan’s amnesty.

I think it is less about showmanship, and entirely about encouraging self-deportation. As other illegals see people being rounded up, they go back on their own terms with a chance to sell off or ship their property.

So if you’ve been here 19 years and still haven’t applied for paperwork or saved enough money to get an immigration lawyer how can you blame the system when it’s your laziness that put you in a position that you’re in the next step that’s gonna happen that those families that are harboring/living with following criminals they are going to put them out. The risk is too great for them to be living with someone that is slated to be deported. There will be a lot of people turning in those criminals.

They took a load of illegals to the airport and the countries vp says "this is the same number we normally get". Each aircraft will carry about the same number. I am sure the government has a standard contract with airlines to carry so many flights per year, and these will continue to take people, while the ones from the military are extra.

Immigration usually requires integration and NON of these people really want to integrate if they aren't willing to try to learn at least a bit of the language. This is how you can tell if someone is at least partly serious about being a citizen of your country.
