They performed this song facing Tamu (the drummer). Mayu sang it directly to her. It was emotional because she was away for a while having a baby and they missed her and were happy for her and happy to have her back. Saki talked about it beforehand and everyone started crying. I tear up watching it. every. time. The chemistry between the members of this band is off the charts.
I love this song! Apparently, at the end of their livestream they played this song for their drummer Murata Tamu who had just came back from giving birth! They were all crying, as you can see in the video, when Saki was telling the story! also it shows them celebrating Hazuki’s birthday! Life is a cool song! Enjoy
Yes this is true this is the first time the drummer was back from having her baby, and they missed her so much , Thats why they are all facing her during the song . It was very emotional as you can see 🦊
This video combines the studio audio with the August 2020 livestream show visuals they had, plus some behind the scene footage for Hazuki's birthday celebration they had that day. Just before the last song of the encore, all the members turned and spoke about how glad they were that Tamu was back after her maternity leave and it got very emotional and when the song started, they stayed facing Tamu. Even without the English lyrics, you can tell it is an important song to them and they are more a family then just band mates.
This LIVE video is the first LIVE in which the drummer Tamu returned to the band safely after giving birth, and the members were impressed. First of all, the content of the lyrics is very good lyrics that overlaps with the current world situation and the members' bodies. Thank you for always NEMOPHILA's reaction

Marata Tamu came back from having her child in spring. So playing this was emotional for her, it’s why when Mayu gestures to her, she cry’s. Amazing drummer, amazing band. Love this and. This was a live stream in august, as saidTamu had just came back from maternity leave.
As several have said they are dedicating to song to Tamu and her baby upon her return to the band. There is a video of Tamu with her baby. Did you notice Hazuki hung her glasses on the mic-stand, apparently she does that on head banging song. Except I think this time it because she knew she was going to cry. Saki was playing her signature guitar. Off subject, when are going to introduce Dani to Babymetal, plus might as well include Band Maid and Lovebites, should be fun.
*Factoid:* What I pieced together was Life was dedicated to the drummers baby. Apparently, she's been away for sometime from the band. Now here's the big rub. *Nemophila* is a side project (band) for all members (they're members of other all-female Japanese bands) except the singer (this is her band). Example: Saki (Guitarist - to me she looks like Ann Wilson from Heart if Ann was Japanese) is a member of *Mary's Blood* plus have a solo career and belong to another side project (band). So of course these girls are paving a new road within the Japanese culture & in the genre of Metal. But as we can see these girls mesh very well together that I guess they became very close friends. And it shows in these videos. The lead singer doesn't demand the spotlight on only herself. She's willing to share it & to step back (see their X Japan cover) allowing the band to shine.
the song was dedicated to the drummers return to the band after having a baby ! they are all facing the drummer and performing to her ! you see the drummer cry at the end .
Anything that gets out from Japan, have been sincere, empowering and uplifting. Here are some of the example I've read, watch and witness. Totoro, Ultraman, Doraemon, Pokemon, Hidetoshi Nakata, XJapan, One Piece, 2011 Women' soccer World Cup Champion, Japanese fans clearing up the stadium after their mess at Men's World Cup final, Babymetal, SG. These are some example for me of the gift that keep on giving that is Japan.
The song is Called Life it was Said to be appointed To the Drummer is a mom it was pointing out Life For them how they will create hope for others as the ascend from the stars more to it that i don't know yet glad you both enjoyed it it a great band great stuff
The emotion? This was the encore to a live stream and before they played it, they all turned to Tamu, who was just returning from having a baby (Sumo wrestler looking little tubo... no clue how that tiny girl birthed that little dude) and individually welcomed her back, dedicating the song to her. As you can see, it got emotional and the song obviously has meaning in that regard.
I can’t find a source, but I feel sure that I’ve read that Maya wrote the lyrics specifically for Tamu&son. Great great singalong piece and hooks galore with the lead guitars too, love it, first song on my wake up playlist
They have very quickly become my favorite band. From my understanding this was supposed to be a side project for all of them. But it turned out so well and their chemistry was so good they decided to make it permanent.
Everyone filled you in on the backstory, so I just want to say, we are trying to bring them over here for a tour, so let me know if you want to help. Thanks!

@@toriheart5046 I totally forgot about the band facing her! I think the song was actually directed for the newborn baby!

Ha, I just wrote an almost identical comment. Oh well, I'm not deleting it.
Thank you 👍
It's likely dedicated to the drummer's newborn, and why they are facing her throughout the song.
Yes, I love that! It also looks like Tamu started to cry right at the end. These are good girls.💪🏻🤘🏻

japan is a wonderful country ... it gives us wonderful music and fantastic songs and singers ... first of all our Babymetal
First of all? Not in my world. They're about fifth or sixth in my favourite Japanese band list.

Even if Mayu is famous for being a screamer, I love her soft voice more for some reason.

While the new born was a large motivational song, I'd say LVTs analysis also on point. Empowering video for women, and strength in unity.
