OK, need to watch this when I get home. Noted: a _lot_ of HABA games make great games to take to the pub, and for the same reasons you can play them with small children: 1) No reading involved (pubs are typically low light) 2) Indestructible pieces 3) Clear penalty conditions ("You did the wrong thing! Take a drink!") and 4) You can teach them to someone who isn't really paying attention in maybe 5 minutes. Karuba is too engaging for pub play, but Rhino Hero, Animal Upon Animal, Drachenstark, maybe this Rolling Gang are great for this.:)
I bought this for my 2 year old for her birthday this year. She absolutely loves it. She pulls it off the shelf herself and brings it over to me saying "daddy, game. Fun!" when she wants to play. I also recently picked up "My First Animal Upon Animal" and she really loves it as well.
I wish there were more games in the 5-8 year old range. Games that employ their ability to think and strategize, but don’t rely heavily on lots of reading. My kids generally find games at the level of many “kids” games to be too simple, dull etc but they really enjoy “family” weight games. However since the older 3 are between 4-9 games that require a lot of reading ability and non-shared information require them to play it dozens of times with help before having everything memorized (so they don’t have to read to keep up). It seems to be the biggest obstacle to us getting a lot of use out of our game collection ☹️ Would be nice if they didn’t only make games for the 5 and under set and the 10+ set.
#2 Rhino Hero He spoke about giant Rhino Hero, I would also like to mention Rhino Hero: Super Battle. It was announced this year. It's a bigger version with multiple player pieces and NPCs. Basically you can make a whole bunch of card buildings that are all connected. Looks rad
I played it with my girlfriend and mom (she is almost 70) and we had a blast. My mom is a non gamer - but we try to convert her. My mom actually won. :)
totally agree - we had for the 5th birthday of our daughter because she could not play yet with us on family games and she loves it and learned to focus instead of just collecting
Check out the game "Downforce" - it was recently re-released. I played it at a local board game cafe and it looks very similar to Monza. I had a blast.
Would love to see this video redone, HABA is putting out even more excellent games these days
indeed
Same! Haba is my go-to for kids games and light family games

Chris Wiswell yeah I think the same, they are great party games to take out, they look silly but are great.
Chris Wiswell yup, most kids games are great drunk adult games
Adventureland is my favorite HABA game. It is a great gateway game for new players getting into board gaming.
haba games are straight up amazing.
Brilliant company and this video was wonderful, I'm taking lots of notes here.
I also recommend: Monza, Valley of Vikings, Little Magicians, Orchard, Richard Ritterschlag, Taxi Wildlife, Hit the Throttle!, Wild Vikings.
My kids LOVE unicorn glitterluck, its a simple short roll and move, but for small kids its fantastic.
they get to roll dice, and collect gems.
When my Daughter was 3, she loved "My First Orchard"

Karuba: My 60th favorite game, and was a small hit when I introduced it to my meetup. My non-gaming wife enjoys this one!
gospel-kingdom website what about your gaming wife lol
So happy to see this list!
Fiery dragon review

Great video!!!! It helps us decide on what games to buy.
Yes!! I've been waiting for this one.
5:20 - ''There are many version of Animals upon Animals, the most recent version is called Meeple Circus''
Haba games ...BEST I ever played so much fun and very durable.
#2 Rhino Hero

Wonderful list. Thank you for this, it will help with us making some purchase decisions in the future.
Rhino hero!!!!! Works with all kinds, family, gamers, non gamers, parties, just hilarious!

What about rhino hero super battle?
Super Battle works too but I’d say Rhino Hero for very young kids! Super Battle is even better
Crazy that Meduris isn't on this list...
Karuba is awesome! I also play Hearmees with my 4 and 7 year old. They love it!
yes mostly kids games but as an adult I own Adventureland + expansion (comes in German/English rules in the single expansion).
Nearly all puzzle or dexterity games huh? I am excited about trying Adventureland though and suitcase detective sound fun as well.
The Heroes of Kaskaria is enjoyable. A little surprised it isn't on the list.

Surprised Monza didn't make the list. It's the modern Candyland.
Monza is great too
I love Monza as a Candyland replacement that teaches the kids the beginnings of strategy, and adults can stand to play it too!
Brian Lelas I wish they had a larger board for adults. I would totally play it.
Check out the game "Downforce" - it was recently re-released. I played it at a local board game cafe and it looks very similar to Monza. I had a blast.
Love Karuba, Spookies, Rhino Hero !
Love Haba!!
Go Cuckoo! is a winner in my house
HABA jest tylko jedna!
👍👌
