    Thanks, Page. This is basically the perfect keyboard rig! Love how your organ tech has the grind in the B3 dialed in. I can hear that the percussion no-volume-drop mod has been done, allowing the percussion "ping" to push things over into distortion. Is there any additional amplification between the AO28 and the Leslie amp, or is the AO28 just setup really hot?

    Heavy, vintage and genuine classic rig, and player! Of course, many of us have downsized over the years to workstations. I must say, I was very pleased to see the CS-60 ! Most never give credit to this synthesizer, let alone LIVE on stage!! The 'linear' chromatic portamento is an early, one of a kind feature to Yamaha.
    I still have my 60, bought new in 1978, never gigged with it, only a bedroom piece, so totally like new to this day. I bought (when they were first introduced) a new Boss CE-2 chorus for it to make it sound more like the CS-80 with it's two oscillators per note. Thanks for this presentation!

  • @STSGuitar16
    @STSGuitar16 Год назад +8

    As a guitarist, keeping all of that keyboard info and tonal options straight seems nearly impossible lol. I mean, I get what they all do and what they sound like on a base level, but I'd definitely have a terrible case of option paralysis for sure if I was surrounded by keyboards like he is! I guess there are probably keys players who feel the same way about guitars and pedals, amps, etc. too, but keys are just way more in-depth. Hell, even just the B3 alone has soooo many tonal options that it just seems like it would be impossible to know where to even begin. Being a real keyboard player of this caliber takes about a lifetime of experience to really master knowing which keyboard options and tones fit for which sections of each song. I mean, I just strum some chords and step on a few pedals every once in a while, but being a master of the keys takes way more know-how, experience, creativity, and technical skill to do at a pro level, and Page has indubitably mastered that aspect for sure. And his playing ain't half bad either! AND his dad invented Tylenol! What a guy! Seriously though, keyboard players like him have all my respect. Really cool stuff!

Do you ever feel intimidated by big guitar rigs?

    While Dave Smith coined the acronym MIDI, he was not its sole creator. It was started by Ikutaro Kakehashi, the president of Roland, in 1981 when he first proposed the idea of a universal standard to Oberheim. However, Kakehashi instead went with Dave Smith, who along with Chet Wood devised the technical standard. This standard was later revised by Roland, Yamaha, Korg, and Kawai.

    How is he amplifying the Clav? Is the Rhodes a suitcase model? If not how is he amplifying that? Does he run the synths through direct boxes or are they amplified in some way? What kind of mics are used on the piano? Does the Nord organ also go through the Leslie? Nonetheless could watch this over and over!🙌🏼✨
