Another banger opening track. Your channel always inspires me to go turn knobs on my pedals. I get so stuck in this mentality that I can't change settings once I find something I like but you always make me get over that and go on some tone shaping journeys. Love it!

You are getting some beautiful tone out of that rig. Are you only running the Browne Amplification Gritador, Strymon El Capistan, Tubesteader Magnezium into the UA OX Stomp set to Soyuz 1973 mic? No Amp modeler or any other pedals off to the side? I'm using the UA Dream and just not getting the tone I want, but what you played in this video is so close to where I want to be.

hey! that's the whole setup yea. ( Soyuz mic is just for talking bits ). SO - running those pedals into Ox Stomp - stereo out to a Pinstripe Pedals DISO+ , and there's a touch of plate reverb from the Ox Stomp. I multi track and mix the intro tracks, so there might be eq or compression on some of the tracks, but I really don't go crazy on that side of things. I use the Dream a lot too , and I think some of the magic does come from the tubes in these preamps bringing some life and dynamics back to the digital environment.

@@AmbientEndeavors Thank you! I've been on the fence about the Ox Stomp for awhile and now definitely considering it with this Tubesteader. Would you recommend running the Tubesteader as the preamp for the Dream or do you think that's a little redundant and just go Ox Stomp? Appreciate all the help. I'm new to this digital pedal world and trying to get the tones I used to get out of my amp.

@@justingreen264 I haven't tried it with the Dream; my hunch is that it might feel like there's a lot going on, running into the Dream's amp voicing.

My goodness, what an incredible opening tone! Boutique guitars are great, but just a straight Tele through that rig was near perfection. If you ever do other videos on this I'd love to hear it through an HX Stomp. Does it need to be right before the amp modeler to have the best effect? Or can you run it before delays and reverbs into the amp and still get that tube saturation? I've grown up in the modeling world so I don't have much experience with tube amps or running all effects into an amp. I've always done the studio-clean thing of wet fx after the amp modelers.

thanks man! Yeah, sometimes I just feel like running a Tele into a dirty amp, it makes layering really fun and the way the Tele cuts is pretty unique.
RE: placement, I need to perhaps do a video using these as simply "dirt pedals" and see. I have really liked putting them last in the chain as they do add that nice touch of tube compression and "take pedals" well, so I've been happy - but I know that's just one of a few contexts you could use them in. I forgot to note, but there is a toggle on the side that allows you to run at a little hotter level when you're running into direct rigs, or flip down for a more mellow output for using it in line with your drive section.

What cabinets did you use in the ox stomp.

Here I'm using "2x12 Two Verb" cab with a 121 and 421, touch of compression and reverb in the UA app.
