i'm continualy baffled by game devs. "there's an embargo you can't go after X event" dude how about you lock it yourself since YOU CODED THE GAME and provide pre-release kits with just the amount of stuff you want?
If it is as simple as you put it, they would've already done it along time ago. That's likely something more complicated than just mere coding issues, could even be things that are outside of technical stuff.
it's probably easier to do nothing also because most keys are distributed for reviews etc
