  • Been wanting to grab an electric scooter for about the last year, but hadn't taken the plunge. Love riding my ESK8's and Ebikes, but wanted to get into the escooters, so when I saw GoTrax had a sale going on, I figured, "why not?".
    The Apex is a good entry level ride, that would probably fit most people's needs. So, let's take a look!

    I wish I could use something like this. Being an amputee and in a wheelchair, it just takes the fun out of all this newer technology. Yeah, I know....we have electric wheelchairs and scooters but it's not the same nor (I'm sure) near as fun! Now, if they made a heavy-duty one with a seat & maybe a three wheeled version...now we're talkin'! Thanks Tony for the content as I do enjoy seeing these awesome products!

      Thank you Drew! Yea, I've seen others that are quite a bit more powerful, and that hill wouldn't be a problem at all. This one...when I was near the top of the hill it was pretty slow and even though I'm under 200 lbs, which they say up to 220 lbs, seemed to struggle just a little bit. Thanks brother!

    Some of the bigger ones are ridiculously fast. They have steering dampers so you don't get a death wobble. I saw a guy passing cars like they were sitting still .probably had to be going over 50 lol. He took a corner and the whole thing slid out from under him. I can't remember the name of it but I'm sure it was the most expensive out there

    • @VaporTrailChannel
      @VaporTrailChannel  2 года назад +1

    I just got one and I'm sending it back because the claimed range is 15 mi or somewhere near it, but I've only been able to get nine out of it Max before it drops off completely. And that's with a net -300 foot elevation

    • @VaporTrailChannel
      @VaporTrailChannel  6 месяцев назад

      Range on all PEVs (personal electric vehicles) are based on perfect conditions. A rider who is 160lbs, straight line, and no wind resistance. That’s common, so if you’re a heavier rider, going up hills, or dealing with slightly windy conditions, you’ll get less range. The struggle is real, and scooters tend to have smaller batteries in them than bikes or eskates, so unless you’re going with Varla or one of the other makers that sell around $1-2k, you’re going to run into the same thing. Hope that gives some perspective. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻

      Definitely not. There are very few that are considered “water proof”, and they can be pricey. Over $1k. And even then, I wouldn’t risk it. These things are full of electronics, and batteries, and they don’t like water. Not to mention the bolts and nuts, and all of that that will rust. Your best bet is to avoid water and definitely don’t write any of them in the rain. Now, if a small puddle splashes on it, and you clean it off right away, you probably won’t have any problems.

    It's electric not combustible. So of course it needs it little push to get going. That movement is telling the start-up relay, it's time to go. Those things are maxed out at like 260 lbs. This dude already pushing that easily over 200. Then add on uphill inclines, stop and go situations (which on a scooter MA bugger thingy) sidewalks always an easy option. Not to mention. If all else FAILS.... You can still do what it is designed for and SCOOT IT home!
