Have you been boating enough on Big Momma this summer? I got my "Big Momma" which is a little smaller than yours (we call her "Stevie Ray Vaughan", but same motor and outdrive I think (Ford 302, Omc electric shift 1975 Sea Ray SRV175) in the water a month ago, and we have been boating a lot this summer. I also fixed my friends 13' Boston Whaler with a 45 hp jonson, and have other outboards and little boats 12', 14' too - so this summer was boating! Very hot and smoky from fires where we live in McCall, Idaho.

Thanks for your comment! Yes, we've been boating on Big Mamma this year. I can't say a lot as it is always too little for me :) But we had few nice journeys on Curonian Lagoon. One of them just on the last weekend. We went on Nemunas river once (I made a video on that. With drone shots) and most of our weekends are on Kaunas rezervoir. Yes, this summer was a hot one. I'm glad you finally launched your Stevie after the impeller replacement. I had an adventure with snapped alternator/water pump belt. Had my 5hp Suzuki ready for such events. And it worked at 1/2 throttle only... It was OK downwind, but the second half of the rote was upwind... So had to ask a nice guy for a tow... A float of shame behind the other boat :)

@@Dasiukas Nice. I've been towed a few times too, and it is wonderful when someone helps you in your time of need. I need to fit either a small outboard like your Suzuki or a bigger trolling motor to the 2nd swim ladder for such occasions. I have the motors, but just need to make a little wood mount that bolts to the right swim ladder.

I put the date on mine too, because they say 8 years. But, I usually get 1.5 to 2.5 years max. Especially if they are inside an enclosure. But, it shouldn't matter much, as they don't kick off too much heat anyway. One day I'm going to open it up, and see what is really burning out, as I don't think it is the led, but rather a cheap transformer or chip. Maybe we could just buy a bag of chips for 8 dollars, and solder a new one in?

When they say 8 years they assume the bulb to be on for several hours per day. On that new Osram bulb package was a note 2.7 h/day or 15000 hours. My outdoors lamp is on for a whole night operated by light sensor. So about 4400 hour/year. Maybe the bulbs could last longer if I bought better ones. But I usually use cheap ones. So that's the result (2.5 years). I wont bother with the repair... I too think it is not the LED that failed.
