      @John Deere legalize oxycodone and fentanyl for recreational use.
      there would be no counterfeit pills being cut with unknown and extremely dangerous amounts of the substance if they were regulated and legal for recreational use.

      I told my doctor if I had a big bag of weed while I detox and some benzos I'd be opiate free in a week or two and he said nah no I don't think so I think it might make you worse I am putting you on methadone....
      Ffs I know I would've been done already but hey they have an obligation to the makers of methadone to bring in that customer flow

    • @Rosenzweigjcb
      @Rosenzweigjcb 6 лет назад +11

      Weed and benzos don't hit the same receptors as opiates. More importantly, if you became dependent on benzos during your detox phase, that withdraw could be magnitudes worse. But hey, if you feel like weed can get you through a heroin detox, more power to you.

    I used to work in a hospital and there was a nurse there who was addicted to Fentanyl. You never would have suspected it, it was a weird way she got caught. We worked in the ICU, where fentanyl patches are commonly prescribed. When med time came and the patch would be changed, she would put a fresh one on the pt and take the old one and chew it, getting high off the drug left in the patch. The thought of that makes me so sick, ugh, gross... Anyway, I guess she had too much or something one day and we found her sound asleep in the recliner chair next to the pt's bed with a patch in her mouth and a couple in her pocket. She lucky she didn't OD! But yeah, that didn't go over too well with admin....

    The main problems people have with illicit drugs like fentanyl and heroin are: not being able to accurately measure dose, not getting a pure substance, being uneducated on the drug and it's real effects, and using an unsafe route of administration. Pure, medical grade fentanyl (yes it exists), administered correctly, and at low to moderate doses does not usually produce especially dangerous side effects. The war on drugs is creating these problems. Drug use and availability does not decrease because of illegality, it just makes drugs more expensive and less pure, causing people to use them in more dangerous ways. Deaths like these are absolutely terrible but if we decriminalized these drugs and provided users with pure substances and educated them on things like dose and effects we could potentially save thousands of lives each year. That's what Portugal did and their number of heroin addicts split in half. Drug legalization might sound like a crazy idea, but think about it...we could save millions of lives.

      Hunter Broodboy Pure Fetanyl is deadly, pure Heroin is also deadly. In fact pure drugs can be more addictive than drugs cut with other substances. That's like saying drinking pure alcohol is better than drinking beer.

    Earlier this year I had surgery to have a port placed due to my veins being scared up from 13 rounds of 5 days per round of IVIG for what has started out to be Gullian Barre syndrome and that has progressed to Chronic Inflammatory Demyalating Polyneuropathy. Anyway, when I was in pre-op, the anesthesiologist asked me what I preferred for the meds to sedate me for the procedure. She said that I had an option of being given fentanyl, valium or ativan and propofol. I told her "no thanks to the fentanyl and ativan but could I get the valium now and the propofol in the OR?" and then she said "Yes, I can do that."
    The reason why I chose not to receive the fentanyl was because the last time I received it I was high for three days afterwards.

    They gave me Fentanyl in the ambulance when I broke my femur last fall. It was the liquid version shot into my IV, but I didn't notice any "high" from it at all, just that the indescribable pain stopped for a few minutes. Two 100mg doses of it and they couldn't give me any more (it was a 40 mile ride to the hospital over some not too smooth roads), so they switched to Ketamine. That stuff was the most scary substance I've ever had in my life. :D

    i had an appendectomy few months ago and was shot with morphine before surgery. i dont see what's so addicting about the stuff. tbh it felt..ok but nothing mind blowing. they also kept me doped up all night with oxys, hydros and more morphine and sent me home with a prescription. i never took much of the hydros i was prescribed but noticed a few nights after stopping all opium intake i was having difficulty sleeping and would have hot flashes. maybe it was a minor withdrawl or something but after the next few nights of that it was clear i would never want to take that stuff again. it just takes pain away no visual or audio hallucinations or anything. just seems pointless

    I also lost my brother, but not to drugs, I lost him at the mall and my parents were not happy. They wouldn't even let me eat dessert for like a whole week.

    i know a former friend, who cant even do a crap without taking pills, He needs 20 pills a day , for his hepatitis, (for taking drugs and smoking pot all those years). complaining of depression and other. Financially he is well off now, his mum died 2 weeks ago. I wonder how long his new fortune will last . His health is ruined, by drugs,
