Cool hackers are awesome, I got one in Elden Ring who hijacked my summon sign from Raya Lucaria and summoned me into the arena behind the Great Jar. His name was DLC arena. He summoned a bunch of other duelists so we could use the arena for fights. I hope I get summoned by him again.
I got a similar hacker like 1 month ago. I put down my duel sign at Many Academy Gate for some duels. I got summoned as duelist in ... Farum Azula. There were 2 other player fighting a Crucible Knight NPC with infinite health, while the host was watching us from ontop Maliketh's boss room.

9:20 that pillar was probably just a prefab they were gonna use somewhere else, which is why it probably has collision. Same with why it has such a high resolution texture
yeah also giving something collision is often times just like built into the structures when they make the "building blocks" of objects so it's not like they're "wasting resources"

Regarding sandbaging with friends - what about you get points based on how many gens were done before you escape (hatch or gate?) would make you work together to get some gens done but as the game goes on you want to prevent others from earning it. Alternatively have points divided between tho who escaped to make you risk sandbagging others and get more share yourself- 5 gens and 4 escapes, all get 1 point / 5 gens 2 escapes, both of you get 2 points each, 5 gens 1 escape - 5 points to the winner, 4 gens + hatch - 4 points to the winner etc
I'm not 100% sure but I think the reason why those sideways pillars have collision is because they are reused assets. Meaning its possible those pillars were originally made and used elsewhere in the level and then they just copy pasted them up the tower for aesthetics. I can also tell you that an object having collision does impact engine resources a little, its no where near as much as having to render all the textures or as much as various pieces of code (especially if its poorly optimized code) during the course of play.

Unreal engine can automatically accurately give collision to props it might've even had a potential use as a bridge so they put it up there cause it looked good.
They must've designed the tower thing to be either traversable in-game or in some other part of the map. I'm betting they decided not to at the last second and relegated it to decoration. That was actually really cool to see.

Still, it's possible to remove colliders from prefabs, which absolutely should be done if they're not expected to be interacted with.
