I used that in the growing of my beard and it caused a wave that progressively got worse the more i used it. Now i use my wide tooth wood comb only and the wave is almost gone finaly. Wont make this mistake again
Hello. Still watching. I turned my 30 day grow into a 60 day grow and now into a 90 day grow before I find a professional to shape and trim my beard. I made the rookie mistake early on of raising my neckline too high so I’ve lowered the neck and raised the cheek line so the barber has something to work with. I haven’t tried your products yet but will be ordering soon. So many to choose from. Thanks for the great videos. I’ve learned a lot.
Vegans can still use boar brushes, the boars are looked after very well. You can always contact the company and ask about their policies and where they source the boar hair from. A lot of companies will happily send you the info. My gf is a vegan and when I buy animal products I always email the company and so far I've always gotten the legal documents sent to me proving the animals are looked after. As long as you don't buy products from dodgy companies wool and boar hair are very animal friendly.
I use a brush with sisal/cactus hair. My hair is also very kinky/curly. Would me brushing it everyday help train my hair so it would ecentually become straighter? I just really hate how scruffy it looks currently.
I love boar bristle brushes....a product that uniquely lives-up to the hype! But get a quality one, such as BB-- this is definitely a get-what-you-pay-for product. In fact, get two-- they work wonders on my dog's and cat's fuzz as well (seriously)....spreads their natural oils just as it does with a beard 👍
I am using my boar brush everyday and loving it... however. Almost every time I would find some lose facial hair in the brush, so it is encouraging me to think, that by doing so I am damaging my beard. Pls is this normal?
It's nothing to worry about. Beard hair, and hair in general, falls out every once in a while. That's mainly just the dead or damaged strands, so you didn't need those anyway. -Josh
you can do most of this stuff with your hands, with competent showering, and with any brush, honestly, any brush (stimulate the skin, exfoliate, distribute oils). The vast majority of boar brushes have FAR too many bristles and cannot penetrate a long thick beard like mine (does nothing) while combs simply catch and rip hairs out. Personally, I've found detangling brushes to be the best thing for my beard... Like those goofy looking tangle teezer/tamer or wetbrush.
Johnny Garcia personally I use beard shampoo once a month. Use warm water, tiny bit of shampoo and gently agitate the bristles. Rinse well and allow to dry bristle-side down so excess water does not seep back into the wooden handle thus causing it to swell and lose bristles. Works for me.
Hey Awesome Beard Man. I have an answer for you vegan friends in the world on the brush. Its a botanical solution for all. I'm not vegan but I was talking to my father about the topic. He mentioned AGAVE BRISTLES HAIR BRUSHES to me. Never knew they existed but had to come back and let you know. And, get some friggin hair brushes on your site please! I mean for the hair on me head I aint a baldy just yet.
Another alternative for those living a vegan lifestyle is a wood bristle brush. Like natural boars hair, they will distribute sebum properly as well as beard oil/balm. Also, they do not create static. Just a suggestion. Peace and Love.
If you're vegan try Sisal Hair Brushes. They are supposed to be the best vegan option. Havn't tried them yet. But I'm looking for boar bristle alternatives myself.
Wooden bristle brush vs wooden comb? I've always used a wide toothed comb to work with whichever beard oil I'm using and had no issues, afaik at least. 5-6 inch beard if it's worth noting.
Hey Eric, Everytime i watch some new videos, your beard looks fuller and thicker, are you using minox or something???? I really want to know or if you are following some routine for your beard, Thanks
New subscriber. Great video! I’m in my 4th grow phase because barbers kept cutting into my beard deeper than I wanted and I had to keep starting over. I use to avoid the boar brushes because they hurt my skin but I’ve gotten used to it.
My husband doesn't like using his bore bristle brush because he says it's scratchy on his skin, are they all like that? Or could it mean it's a low quality brush?
Yeah, you can order directly from our website, one of our verified Amazon sellers (not as many choices), or from one of the retailers online or near you (www.beardbrand.com/pages/our-retailers)
I use a Kent boar brush and Lumber Yard oil on my very curly beard. Question: does regular brushing help train the beard to grow in a downward direction?
Good video. Don't have a beard, but use a boar bristle brush every day on my hair. Since I am attempting to grow my hair longer, brushing every day not only keeps my hair and scalp healthy, but allows me to shampoo less frequently.
I was thinking of getting one a while back. But my comb was working well (still love that comb) so I said "Nah, I'm okay with this." Still kinda wanted one, made up my mind then. Getting one asap!
I bought one of these brushes recently. It's absolutely brilliant. It's encouraged a lot of hair growth. It has also helped after beard oil has been applied!
richard witt Richard it really depends on the length of your beard and the amount of hold you desire. A general rule of thumb is to begin with an amount equal to the size of a dime and work up from there if you need to. Hope this helps. Peace
I just bought the beginners kit that includes a pocket comb. Are there any reasons to use a comb instead of a brush? Is the brush more useful after a few months of growth or is this brush superior to the comb in most situations?
The comb is more portable and does an excellent job of helping to tame your beard. The brush is an awesome addition to helping keep your beard straight and neat, but it does a different job than the comb (plus it's not as portable as the pocket comb) - Jack
Could I use a horsehair Brush? I remember my grandad used to use a shoe-brush made of horse hair for both his hair and facial hair. I am assuming it would still give me some the same benefits.
So, with this we would say you'll get a much better result if you use a boar bristle brush. It'll pick up much more of the hair due to the coarse feel of the boar bristles. - Jack
You can actually brush as many times as you want. Now, you don't NEED to brush too many times every single day, but if you're brushing around three to four times per day, that would be totally fine. - Jack
Hey Eric...great vid today...thanks! I've gone back and forth whith comb and boars brush because I keep hearing conflicting opinions about using a brush. The primary one is that at a certain length it pulls out the beard hair. What's your thoughts on that?
Glad you liked the video. Combs are more meant to shape your beard and straighten out the curls. Whereas brushes are used to stimulate the hair follicles and promote the natural oils your beard produces. Hope that helps you. -Josh
Most shampoos aren't designed for the sensitive and wiry hairs in your beard. You may be able to use it a few times, but it would result and beard dandruff or flakes. The fact that it is aloe vera may make it better suited slightly, but your best bet is to go with a beard wash. -Josh

minoxidil and bristle is the best way to fulfill your patchy beard.

What about combing your beard multiple times a day with a Kent comb. How much is too much?
#4 - it feels REALLY good...
Please explain exactly how synthetic bristles don't do each of these three things
