terminology.... you mentioned one year rolling contract (i think re Byram) again. this is not rolling.. It is a one year contract. After a year it ends. A rolling contract is one that continues indefinitely until appropriate notice is served by either party as set down in the contract. A one year rolling contract is one that lasts indefinitely but the notice is one year. So if this is given to Byram, then at the end of the season the contract hasnt ended.. Leeds would need to give one year notice in which case the contract would finally terminate in summer 2006. What you mean is that the contract for Byram has been agreed to continue on the same (or revised) terms for another 12 months from the termination date of the current contract.
I have worked as a contractor, and had 3 month rolling contracts which continue indefinitely until I, or the client, give notice in which case it continues for 3 months and then ends
