    3 thing's Jimi is most under rated at... 1. His rhythm playing. 2. His emotional vocals. 3. His song writing. He was the best. PERIOD.

    These Hendrix videos are making me reflect on what I learned from Jimi Henrix. 1. I'll never come close to the talent of Jimi. 2. How to strive for freely shifting from rhythm to lead :D The second lesson is far more inspiring.

    • @jimix8575
      @jimix8575 6 лет назад +2

      "How to strive for freely shifting from rythm to lead" You are right and it is very difficult to get close to that. Almost impossible. I reccomend you to use mute notes and learn the original versions and not imitations. You have to learn a lot of Hendrix songs to understand how to do that. Also play scale patterns instead of modern cencepts such as scales, arpegios...etc In fact it is possible to make an hybrid method but you would have to avoid many things to get close to Jimi.

Joe continues to show many music types the way and takes care of himself to always perform and teach his best. I love his tones and he would be the first to describe the sounds he chooses to teach over Jimi's style and sound...so pro. That is why drummers are here. Listening...learning. I think JH and JS would be great buds.

    Joe can play any style well. He's just crazy talented. Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but that guitar and that pickup and that amp don't do the Jimi strat sound well. At all. Agree with Andrelix67 - turning down the gain a bit would have helped. Joe likely has an endorsement where he doesn't play other brands in videos so I totally get it. But this video is an extremely effective demo of the wrong guitar and amp combination for the style.

If you don’t know your s*** about music, you can still appreciate it, but you’ll be never be able to learn what JS is trying to teach you. Like it or not, it’s probably a better lesson than most lifestylers out there testing out a $5,000 LP or Fender Custom twice a week.

    Can anyone tell me how to get this kind of tone? I know this isn't the classic Jimi strat tone, but still, I like it in itself. Just the basics of what sort of pedals/amps, gain etc, in software (e.g. Garageband) or hardware.

    Truly one of the best. It's admirable how he makes an Ibanez sound like a Strat and getting Hendrix's tone at that.

    chord variation, use the chord and make something from it and figure out the interval for the chord change. Correct? looks that way to me.

      Andrelix67 Hendrix was infuenced alot from TBone Walker and Buddy Guy and developed his own style and owned the guitar by taking much further.

      Curtis and Hendrix both got the major building blocks of that style from Gospel Quartet music guitar. One of the best ever, Howard Carroll, of the Dixie Hummingbirds, just passed away.
