I am showing here an ES futures chart (SP500) on a 3000 tick chart. But this can be applied to any futures market with footprint. You just have to figure what a median volume is at what specific times of day and then you can know when to identify high volume influxes. I have different volume highlight settings for the early ETH hours, then for ETH European hours and then the highest for RTH for the US sessions which are definitely your best times to trade.

Ever since I found you, volume footprints have been huge for me, you're doing excellent at teaching about using them and other confluences, thank you very much !!

Hi, i just purchased you footprint chart. I trade NQ futures. i understand you stating 2000 ticks you use, what values do you use for highlights for NQ?

It varies, for NQ the scale is so large I usually have it set to 0.5pt per tick instead of 0.25. And highlights around 150 med & 250 high. The main thing is to have a good balance of just enough signals to know when volumes are significant, and not too many signals that it loses it's significance. But again, it's not a set rule, it varies by time of day, news, etc.

May I ask the significance of 3000 tick movement?

It’s a good balance on ES for me. Gives very good detail for entries. During regular market hours.

Follow up question regarding ES 3000 tick movement? Say I only trade NQ what would be your recommended tick movement to set-up? Thanks for the informative videos already subscribed🙂

I use 2000 ticks for NQ during regular market hours. The thing with NQ is the scale is very large because of the values, so the footprint candles look huge, at least in Sierra Chart. So I will go to the settings and set 4 ticks per row. So it makes the scale 4 times smaller essentially. That's just my personal preference for NQ footprint. The regular tick chart just set to 2000 tick.
