@@aldobonaso3481 Yeh, I don't even think you need to look at it that way. Like he says in the video, he had a lot of set-backs and difficulties that meant things didn't work for him in SA. Different players/people thrive and come good in different situations, his path is his path and I don't even think he is seeking 'vindication' at this point, achieving what he has I doubt he'd change a thing. He's a massive player in the Northern Hemisphere and in European rugby, he has made it to the top level, period! Also I see him around occasionally in Edinburgh and he's a nice lad--still a bit of the kid about him which is lovely to see.

Always think its a shame that so many young S Africans are now making Europe their base. End of the day its no different to any other profession - just no space for them in SA these days, for a number of reasons I won't go into.
And just wait until the school boys from SA in French clubs become eligeable to play international for France. Best youngsters in SA seem to all have made plans to emigrate to greener pastures and if SA schools are anything to go by, these are some of the most talented in the world.
Besides if the Springbok name ever changes to the Proteas to suit certain political, racial and economical agendas, it would be nice to know the Boks live on in Europe.

Should have a Green and Gold Jersey on , he has proved his worthy , no bigger honor than representing your own country . But to get a chance to play for the Lions is a very rare so well done to him for his achievement . Just wish the Lions Tour was played with better spirt . It seems to me that when we play each other the ethos that Rugby represents seems to go right out the window . We should all be having a few beers and a braai after the games but sadly this is not the case .

These players 'parachuted' in from more exotic climes are in danger of diluting the local talent. Many of these overseas recruits cannot make it in their own country which is the reason they come here, by accomodating them we are negating the opportunities for homegrown players. Currency exchange rates are very favourable for SH players to do a stint in Europe. And there is also a track record of success: RC Toulonnais won how many trophies for years on end by essentially recruiting the entire core of the Springbok team in France. Besides the SH players (and coaches) improve the standard of NH rugby overall- hence the narrowing, and indeed, all but eliminating the gap between the hemispheres
