I went to high school with one of the studio employees from one of the episodes (the first episode, I think). She said it didn’t get better afterwards.

I dont think kelly would want them on something like that again especially with the trauma she endured and they would've probably have a ton of stuff to affect paige's anxiety for extra drama
Something has just occured to me: the moms could have worked together by uttering the same swear word over and over again while others in the same room have a private conversation because the mix will pick up the bad words and they will have to block the whole conversation out. Nothing will be useable, no? I dunno, that's what I would have done
each mum has an individual mic, on top of the boom mic, so they can isolate certain sounds from a particular person. so i don’t think it would be possible.
@@angelat5554 they could potentially offset that by randomly mentioning brands, TV stations or even singing songs that they didn't have license to use: which is pretty much anything mainstream media.
I am sympathetic to the crew. I listened to the episode of Christi's podcast with the sound guy, they also talked about how the girls were told that if they couldn't find a parent in a crowded place, go to a crew member. And it happened, they were often going through busy airports and things. So I get why if you know you're someone the girls can trust, and you know you can do your best to get around the rules a little bit, you don't want to push the envelope too far and maybe get replaced by someone who doesn't care at all. Still, it's all ethically grey.
I've just noticed something in Season 1 Episode 3!! When Cathy is talking to Vivi about her solo, she asks if she wants to do it and Vivi says no. Vivi says she might forget her solo on stage. Then Cathy suggests they practise the solo, but as Vivi is saying she would still forget the solo despite the practise, you can hear the cameramen in the background saying something. I just can't make out what they're saying, but they're whispering something like they're telling Vivi to say something!
@@shimmershine6902 Kira and Jess were actually really good friends and they've both alluded to using the other for storylines because they knew they were just playing the game
I feel so bad for all the girls on the show. They literally had to BEG just to get some personal space. I can't imagine the trauma because of these instances :( PS. I love this series and the new one you just recently released. Keep slaying girl! 💕
I literally didn’t go back to work until my son was 3 months old. The fact that they wanted her to leave her newborn and move states away for a tv show is ridiculous
I've always stated that what these children went through should be illegal and being the face of it, everyone always says how horrible Abby Lee Miller is. But I say if you're an adult and you witness any wrong doing to a child you are responsible for it! Think how many countless adults including parents, crew members, guest stars, tutors, etc. Allowed this to go on for 8 years!
The parents are the biggest problem for allowing it to go on, say what you want about the producers, crew, or even Abby, but their parents were ultimately responsible and there is no way I would have allowed my kids to go through this.. And for what? Most of them are not even working as dancers now..
It's so mature how Maddie and Mackenzie approached the producers about not filming their mom crying. I remember that episode and how Melissa stormed out of Kelly's house, she was totally bullied and it's was so sad ... sad for Paige too,all these kids went through a lot all for television drama...
I think it's really sad and upsetting that in the beginning I think Mackenzie or Maddie was crying and then pointed at the camera. That's so horrible for the producers to do that.😔
Knowing now that the mothers had to fight for the cameras before they were allowed to go home makes me wonder how often that happened once they moved into the la studio. Because I feel like the drama with Jill ashley kinda came out of nowhere
I liked holly but the fact that she compared working to being a mom is just wrong. I thought she would be on Kiras side due to the fact that she seemed like the woman with the most logic
I saw a comment that said that they think that the camera crew is interested when one of the girls has a panic attack ٫ I agree and I feel like they only go away when one of the mothers tells them that they need to have one sec alone. maybe its just me but they shouldn't follow around children with big cameras when they are freaking out٫ THAT would freak them out even more
The camera crew is told by producers what to film and when. The camera crews were pressured and forced to film bad situations even if they didn't agree.
The camera guy is a good guy. A friend of mine is also a cameraman for a tv news station and he also has hard lines he draws for sensitive family situations and has almost lost his job a couple of times over it over the years but he doesn't care. There are just some things he won't film/record.
I was thinking that myself it had to be Melissa and Jill because they were the ones that always would run to Abby and say things. Or they try to start trouble. It had to be them.
I don't really think I can fault the crew entirely. I mean, sure, you probably had some people there who didn't think twice about it, but then you obviously have empathetic people like Adam who did what they could to respect the cast. It's a tough spot to be in, and everyone's got bills to pay. Honestly, production should be ashamed of themselves for being so exploitative. I get that it's a reality TV show, but god damn.
Did anyone else instantly think it was Melissa, when a Christi said in her podcast that a cast member would army crawl and spy on her and Kelly talking to the crew? It would make sense why Christi hated her so much. It’s more than just Maddie vs Chloe or favoritism from Abby.
id be sooo interested to hear you talk about S8 and whether more drama was stirred up there, because one thing for sure was that something was VERY WEIRD about S8, like for the first time there was actually drama within the dancers on team, not just the moms, and all the girls/boy seemed a lot more like TV "characters" Hannah = nice girl, Brady/Lilly = favourite/special one, Sarah = dramatic one, Pressley = it girl, Elianna = wild card, GiaNina = villain/mean girl. It felt even more engineered.
I love watching these videos because they are so interesting and I get to learn so much about what happened in Dance Moms! You work so hard to make these and they are amazing!
wait i remember in season 8 Ashley was using a James Charles palette in a fight and it was very clear it was his and it was a challenge and everything on social media...how come they didnt blurr that out on the show ...
I think it’s because Lifetime was sponsoring James Charles. There are several videos on RUclips with James collabing with several of the Dance Moms cast like Maddie, Mackenzie, Abby, and a lot of the Season 8 cast.
lol this kind of reminds me of this scene in the office where one of the camera guys, brian, jumped into a fight to protect pam, and i think he ended up losing his job lmao. i know the office is all fake, but the premise is kind of similar to dance moms in a way, fly on the wall view of a certain environment.
Great video! I would love to see one about Holly. Everyone always says that she was super unproblematic and I also thought that back in the day, but when I'm rewatching some clips right now I started notice that some of her comments were... well, pretty problematic
I remember a livestream Melissa and Cathy did and Melissa said that dance moms would have been way more enjoyable if they had better producers and crew
NO, that is the answer for the tittle, if they cared then why did they let all the girls, moms and even abby to suffer all this pain and allow the amount of stress and anxiety among the cast, they only cared about the cash
the crew def had a bigger responsibility and should’ve been looking after the kids. but they also had the choice of doing that or being fired. and I presume most if not all the crew probably has family to take care of at least to some degree, not everyone has the option to be able to risk getting fired so i get it.
You do such great work! I just can't help but admire all the research you do for these videos. I'd love to see a video on why certain guests left or didn't stay on the show (Sophia Lucia, Kaylee Quinn, etc.)
The sound guy talking about getting into the moms and girls face when they are hysterical made my heart cry. I feel like half the crew loved the girls and moms and actually felt bad, and the other half wasnt as effected by it all. I wonder how many times the crew DIDNT do what producers told them.. Like they most likely listened a lot because thats still their paycheck, but what about when crew was like "mm. Nah fam that dont seem right, they are like nine." I wanna know if anyone lost their job on set for refusing to do one thing or another for drama on the show because they felt it wasnt okay, i wanna know whos butt was on the line for not bringing the moms a minibar to get wasted at rehersals and start a brawl. I wanna know who decided losing their job was worth getting Abby her chicken nuggets so she wasnt hangry and yelling more. These are the questions i need answered
Here to hop on the wanting a video about Abby's Studio Rescue for sure. That couldn't have been all real.... Also here to say how much I agree. Those producers were so icky. There were real human people, some of whom were children, having anxiety attacks and couldn't get any privacy. It's so sad.
I think it Melissa or Leslie. Melissa for obvious reasons, but it could be Leslie to try and get them kicked off the show and make room for her and Payton. Or both!
I still watch dance moms a lot partly as entertainment but also as education on reality tv. This series makes me contemplate watching it anymore. I knew dance moms was bad but this episode just hit different. Def not a good feeling
I think there is evidence showing some of the crew cared but not the producers. At the end of the day, the crew are working a job to provide for their families
Hey! I have a suggestion, what if you do an episode about the girls past and current relationships with their fathers, since we did not see much of it on the show
These children were exploited, no doubt. The producers posted what a great episode it would be - the one where they clearly stole the trophy off Chloe and gave it to Maddie. Chloe was understandably heartbroken..she was brilliant that day and Maddie wasn’t. It was a clear win, yet look at what they did to that child.
The fact that the producers told the mom’s that they wouldn’t let there kid leave, if they didn’t start randomly start an problem about something. Is just sickening, it shows that they really just wanted drama and nothing else.
This kinda makes me sad, but the idea of the girls selling apples and cookies to them is so so cute!

Agreed. I remember I bought the first season of dance moms and while watching it during times I felt so uncomfortable watching because they would zoom in on very inappropriate angles.
You are kidding yourself if you don't think the producers knew that pedophiles would be a huge part of their target audience for this show..
Can we have an episode on how the studios from Abby's studio rescue are doing now?
James Bagley yes it does?
James Bagley the studios from abby’s studio rescue. it was a dance moms spin-off
I went to high school with one of the studio employees from one of the episodes (the first episode, I think). She said it didn’t get better afterwards.
Yes
ooh yes i was watching Abby's Studio Rescue and some of them had too close down their doors please do it like with every studio.
Ohhh so that’s why Christi said “ get away from me” I was like confused but now I know why she said that .
*Christi
I think it was a crew member when Maddie hugged that guy backstage when she forgot her solo
The crew couldn't have done more to protect the cast. If they did they would be fired and replaced with someone else so better to have them stay and do the bare minimum and turn the gain down so the footage isn't used
yep, if they got fired, they'd just be replaced until they found people who didn't care at all
I feel bad that the camera people didn’t really have choice in filming the young children especially during breakdowns,
So glad Adam was smart enough to make it unusable
Ikr
I would love for Paige to have her own episode, she's the only OG without one
I dont think kelly would want them on something like that again especially with the trauma she endured and they would've probably have a ton of stuff to affect paige's anxiety for extra drama
@@desireemassy2980 I think she means for MackZ Boss to make a Dance Moms Uncovered episode surrounding her.
It makes me sick, these people actually think the money they are earning with these kids being destroyed worths more than their mental health.

Preach ma'am! ♥️
Something has just occured to me: the moms could have worked together by uttering the same swear word over and over again while others in the same room have a private conversation because the mix will pick up the bad words and they will have to block the whole conversation out. Nothing will be useable, no? I dunno, that's what I would have done
That would be smart, but might not be allowed
each mum has an individual mic, on top of the boom mic, so they can isolate certain sounds from a particular person. so i don’t think it would be possible.
Or they could have started saying brand names of companies that are lawsuit happy. Or use branded items to shield them from the cameras
On Real Housewives the wives say “Bravo” over and over again so they can’t use the footage, so tactics like this are totally possible!
@@angelat5554 they could potentially offset that by randomly mentioning brands, TV stations or even singing songs that they didn't have license to use: which is pretty much anything mainstream media.
Cast member trying to get Christie and Kelly in trouble...hmmmm I wonder who THAT could be?
I think a certain mom who's name starts with M or maybe J 🤔. I feel like Holly wouldn't care.
Why was I thinking of Sarah’s mom Christy
@@alisapizza123 lol holly would be at work!
screams melissa tbh
im surprised nobody in the replies said abby, abby literally admitted to trying to get christi off the show
I am sympathetic to the crew.
I highly recommend listening to the interview Christi did with a crew member on her podcast. It answered a lot of the questions I had about the crew
I wonder what they were saying?

I literally didn’t go back to work until my son was 3 months old. The fact that they wanted her to leave her newborn and move states away for a tv show is ridiculous
adam was smart to turn down the microphone
Plot twist: MackZBoss was one of producers and thats why she knows so much
I've always stated that what these children went through should be illegal and being the face of it, everyone always says how horrible Abby Lee Miller is.
I remember that episode and how Melissa stormed out of Kelly's house, she was totally bullied and it's was so sad ... sad for Paige too,all these kids went through a lot all for television drama...
i’ve recently been binging this series and wow i’m obsessed
Me too
I think it's really sad and upsetting that in the beginning I think Mackenzie or Maddie was crying and then pointed at the camera. That's so horrible for the producers to do that.😔
Knowing now that the mothers had to fight for the cameras before they were allowed to go home makes me wonder how often that happened once they moved into the la studio. Because I feel like the drama with Jill ashley kinda came out of nowhere
It’s 1 am for me right now, but guess who has 2 thumbs and is staying up? This guy!!
Oh it’s 2 pm here 😇
What about the inappropriate camera angles, especially during the girls’ dances?
She talked about that in another video called the disturbing secrets of dance moms
I know a guy who worked on season 1 & left cause it was so bad... never got details but he was shook
What was nice name

Production owes all of these girls and their mothers an apology, every single one that set foot on this show!
The MOTHERS owe their children an apology, they were ultimately responsible for their own children's well being!!!
I liked holly but the fact that she compared working to being a mom is just wrong. I thought she would be on Kiras side due to the fact that she seemed like the woman with the most logic
Well she is a Trump supporter so that’s questionable 🤨

I am loving Adam the boom mic guy. He seemed to really care and didn’t want to have to hurt the girls
The cast members who was crawling around taking pictures were Melissa and Jill, right? I already know that’s who it was 😂
I was thinking that myself it had to be Melissa and Jill because they were the ones that always would run to Abby and say things. Or they try to start trouble. It had to be them.
Yes! Honestly this is one of the best series on RUclips. Great work as always xx
Yessss new episode waiting 2 weeks is so worth it also can you do a video abt the maddie lie and how the rivalry was set up and how it effected them?
That's a good idea!
Yes
Is it just me or is the thumbnail pretty terrifying ... Mackenzie being scared of the producers that she’s begging them not too .. 😳
It's not from the same scene, they edited two pictures together, but it is really creative
I know that .. but it’s creative.. and terrifying 😬
@empty chair did a solo yep 👍🏻
There are multiple times where you can see the girls clearly distressed about the production crew being there and it's really sad to watch.
@@klyzzle 😔
I don't really think I can fault the crew entirely. I mean, sure, you probably had some people there who didn't think twice about it, but then you obviously have empathetic people like Adam who did what they could to respect the cast. It's a tough spot to be in, and everyone's got bills to pay. Honestly, production should be ashamed of themselves for being so exploitative. I get that it's a reality TV show, but god damn.
I always try to reading the writing on the white board on the Joffrey episode
Did anyone else instantly think it was Melissa, when a Christi said in her podcast that a cast member would army crawl and spy on her and Kelly talking to the crew? It would make sense why Christi hated her so much. It’s more than just Maddie vs Chloe or favoritism from Abby.
I was thinking jill but yeah that makes sense!
id be sooo interested to hear you talk about S8 and whether more drama was stirred up there, because one thing for sure was that something was VERY WEIRD about S8, like for the first time there was actually drama within the dancers on team, not just the moms, and all the girls/boy seemed a lot more like TV "characters"
Hannah = nice girl, Brady/Lilly = favourite/special one, Sarah = dramatic one, Pressley = it girl, Elianna = wild card, GiaNina = villain/mean girl.
It felt even more engineered.
She talked about season 8 in another video
the holly one really caught me off guard, would never expect her to act like that :/
Did the crew care? Straight answer, maybe.
The producers? Straight answer, no.
thus
The research you do is absolutely insane.
I love watching these videos because they are so interesting and I get to learn so much about what happened in Dance Moms! You work so hard to make these and they are amazing!

Yay, I'm finally early! Also, I love your series, it really exposes the stuff that people don't see :)
wait i remember in season 8 Ashley was using a James Charles palette in a fight and it was very clear it was his and it was a challenge and everything on social media...how come they didnt blurr that out on the show ...
People couldn’t really see the brand logo (only people who actually know how it looks like know)
Was she hitting someone with it?
@@Agforever12 no sorry I should’ve clarified it was an argument and she was doing Presley’s makeup while arguing with Abby not fighting physically
@@samiachambers3401 I spat out my muffin because I imagined Ashley fighting with a James Charles palette 🎨
The clip in the intro of Mackenzie broke my heart. She was crying and all they cared about was good content. That’s so messed up
Great video! I would love to see one about Holly. Everyone always says that she was super unproblematic and I also thought that back in the day, but when I'm rewatching some clips right now I started notice that some of her comments were... well, pretty problematic
I love this series I have watched every episode lol can’t wait until u get to 100k I think you deserve 1 mill though.
I remember a livestream Melissa and Cathy did and Melissa said that dance moms would have been way more enjoyable if they had better producers and crew
NO, that is the answer for the tittle, if they cared then why did they let all the girls, moms and even abby to suffer all this pain and allow the amount of stress and anxiety among the cast, they only cared about the cash
oh nevermind you were talking about the crew not the producers, oops
When Paige cried over messing up her solo they kept moving the camera because they had Synder’s pretzels on screen! I thought that was a cool fact
the crew def had a bigger responsibility and should’ve been looking after the kids. but they also had the choice of doing that or being fired. and I presume most if not all the crew probably has family to take care of at least to some degree, not everyone has the option to be able to risk getting fired so i get it.
Those children have worked more in their short little lives than some adults will do in their entire lifespan. 💯 Respect.
honestly the time and effort you put into these videos is amazing!!!!
Came for dance moms, stayed for your incredible research skills.
This honestly just makes me sad, now I know I would NEVER wanna be on a reality show, I like my privacy
Thanks for this analysis. It's really useful and informing so keep up the great work!
You do such great work! I just can't help but admire all the research you do for these videos.
I'd love to see a video on why certain guests left or didn't stay on the show (Sophia Lucia, Kaylee Quinn, etc.)

It was definitely Melissa that was taking those pictures of Christi and Kelly with the crew lmao
I personally don’t think it was
Well duh
I thought she meant like another member of the production crew but maybe idk😂
I bet it was her
Omg. You've pulled it outta the bag with these episodes girl😭🙌 currently binge watching them all🥸 subscribed🥰

I still watch dance moms a lot partly as entertainment but also as education on reality tv. This series makes me contemplate watching it anymore. I knew dance moms was bad but this episode just hit different. Def not a good feeling
Conclusion: reality tv shows are toxic when production just wants to squeeze as much juicy dramas and crazy stuff they could
Haven't clicked on a video that fast. I love your series so much.
Anyone who would say no or ignore 6-12 yr olds coming up to you and trying to sell cookies and bracelets and fruit is sick.
I think there is evidence showing some of the crew cared but not the producers. At the end of the day, the crew are working a job to provide for their families
Hey! I have a suggestion, what if you do an episode about the girls past and current relationships with their fathers, since we did not see much of it on the show
This channel needs to get more recognition!
Give us more production notes! Those were great!
The fact that the producers told the mom’s that they wouldn’t let there kid leave, if they didn’t start randomly start an problem about something. Is just sickening, it shows that they really just wanted drama and nothing else.
On the whiteboard when Chloe got the call from the Joffrey ballet school behind Christi wrote “Christi love Maddie” and they blurred it out 😢
