The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy this holiday season helping a local man gift $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to bless as many individuals in our community as he can.
Brittney and Rich have five boys. Rich has had bad headaches for years, but they have become so bad that they have sometimes temporarily paralyze one side of his body. For the past year or so, they have become so extreme that it is very hard for him to work.
Brittney has taken a part-time bookkeeping job and sells cinnamon rolls to help bring in some income for their family.
They have been to numerous doctors trying to find answers and relief to his severe medical problems, but are still not sure what is exactly wrong.
Secret Santa asked us to visit Brittney and Rich with a Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see the surprise!

Sometimes when I feel low, I view one of these videos and realise that my problems pale into insignificance when others have such major problems. Thank you Secret Santa, Nate and all at East Idaho News.
I know my problems certainly aren't anything to complain about, when compared to those that Secret Santa has helped over the years.
I totally agree with you on that I think my problems are very bad but after watching these vids my problem pales into insignificance

Same here. I'm in Australia, so I'm feeling pretty privileged during this pandemic, when I compare what other Countries are going through. Merry Christmas and a happy safe New Year everyone.
So often when people smile and say "I'm fine." they are actually trying their best not to break into a million pieces. Please be kind and gentle with one another. We have no idea what others are going through or have gone through.
Amen!!! I’m that person. I always say I’m fine, but in reality the year has been real tough. I broke down last week and all my friends were completely shocked.

@@NevadaLamb it’s okay you aren’t alone 😢 I had a nervous break down at the beginning of the month and I have faced consequences at work because of it (called in sick a few times and got doctor notes for them but it didn’t matter) the good news is that things do get better for people who are experiencing hardships and that includes us my friend. Not knowing what's medically wrong is a terrible feeling. I know firsthand. I'm so sorry for what this family has gone through and is going through. Hopefully those huge gifts brought some extra joy to their home. ❤️
Very scary when Drs. can't give you an answer, makes your mind go to even scarier places.
Unfortunately My always healthy never smoked or drink in his life barely 50 year old cousin Gordy was finally diagnosed with one of the rarest brain tumors I can’t even pronounce its name you don’t live too long . But because he was so strong , he lived a bit longer. I’m pretty sure it’s maybe two years it was just horrible . anything in the brain scares me Because without your brain there’s no you 😢😞

Who knows how much these gifts from secret Santa will affect their future. One thing for sure, it’s affected mine just watching.
We all need a lesson in humility sometimes - if we have enough to eat & are walking around without being in agony - we are lucky !

There was a nice follow up of the family where the dad lost his leg and they were living in a camper in the workshop. If you can’t find it I’ll fill you in but don’t want to be a spoiler.
There was one lady who got a car and she gave her old car to someone else that was struggling. The family she gave it to had a decent car but the husband used it for work and even though the car was on it's last leg it's perfect for what they needed too. If I find the Facebook link I'll post it. But it was nice seeing others benefit from the one gift

I can hardly survive one day of baby sitting my niece. Just the thought of a 13, 11, 8, 5, & 2 year old boys scares me to death. Bless this super mom!
I had 4 kids - multiple kids is a hard job, - but wonderful when they are grown up!

My husband and son suffered debilitating migraines for years. Turns out it was chemical sensitivity and I had to change what I cleaned with. Idaho Falls has a Melaleuca store that offers non toxic everything. Maybe it could help them like it helped us.

Merry Day After Christmas!
I had headaches so bad I had to quit work. An Aussie Resident at Vanderbilt University figured mine out. I still get them but not as bad. Plus they know how to treat me. I pray the same for this family. Some think a headache can't bring you down. They have no idea.
I do wonder if the headaches are from the various farm chemicals... They live on or next door to farm. Pesticides, growth chemicals etc. Also I wonder if my comment will be deleted. I do love the Secret Santa blessings though! So fun to watch families be encouraged!

So glad SS was able to help this couple out. This alone will likely help ease the husbands headaches somewhat. And help the mother heal from her recent surgery abit quicker too. Stress slows down the bodies healing capabilities.

Five boys under age 14! That alone is worthy of gifts. But with both parents having medical issues, a truly deserving family.
I love all these stories and secret gifts for the people of Idaho. And I love what secret Santa is doing. But I must say it's more magical having Nate Eaton talking to us first and then to the people getting a secret gift. You have the best personality for this Nate. And you always know what to say. With all the people in KY and surrounding states that just lost everything they had in those deadly tornadoes and so many killed , it has a tendency to lessen our problems when you see what others are living through.

That rare kind of migraine is called FHM Familial Hemiplegic Migraine. And it is very difficult to get it diagnosed because of its rarity and because most of the docters never heard of it or are not familiar with it. I really hope you will be able to get the right diagnose and treatment for it. Best wishes 🎄🙏

Aww She is So Sweet and Humble! So Happy for this family and pray they can find a good Neurologist to diagnose her husband. My Mother lives in Menan and suffering greatly. Her health issues are compounded because of the lack of Good Doctors in Idaho. Breaks my heart n I'm praying her Doctor visit coming up in Utah that she not only doesn't get Covid but that they can finally help her. 🙏🏻 Bless ALL!

Praying for this family. I also struggle with hard-to-diagnose medical issues. I'm sure it's already been ruled out, but just in case, TACs (trigeminal autonomic cephalgias) is something to discuss with his doc. Not trying to assume or diagnose, only offer prayers and virtual hugs. Thank you Secret Santa for blessing them!

This dear mom and wife is obviously carrying a very heavy load, and then to have surgery herself, it must be overwhelming. But all she could say was that they were good. Wow, never heard of not having a cure for headaches or what he is experiencing... hope they can help him out soon so he can provide for his (rather large) family!
These are not typical headaches. My niece suffers from terrible migraines, Ive gone to doctor appointments with her and often times, besides prescribing medication, theres nothing much they can do. My niece was already taking adult strong meds as a teenager. Fortunately with age, hers have gotten better. I hope Brittney's husband has the same blessing.
I have had headaches literally 24/7 for the last 20+ years after my first surgery to remove a brain tumor. Many surgeries later the tumor was 100% removed. I still have headaches and cannot work. I have tried every medication my neurologist can think for me to try (from one of the top hospitals in the county) … but yet they remain. I am a mystery to my doctors and surgeons.
No matter how terrible things are going for most people in Idaho they will always say they are "fine and doing great"

My son had terrible headaches and was finally diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. It was blessedly fixed with brain surgery called micro vascular decompression. His doctors told him it was often diagnosed as migraines. Just a suggestion to ask about. I hope and pray for her husband's and her health to improve very soon!
