Peggy, these pumpkins are some of the best I've seen! I couldn't believe how much poly-fil you were stuffing in the pumpkin, but it makes total sense to me now! You've created very solid pumpkins, and it makes all the difference! Love the fabric choices too, and the clay stems are so realistic-looking!
Thank you so much Lori! When I designed this pattern, I wanted a substantial weight to my pumpkins and with the shaping you need quite a bit of stuffing! Once you get the pattern figured out and you make one it can be addictive and you will have a pumpkin patch!
These are adorable…I can’t wait to make them! One question: With the heavy-duty upholstery thread for the 8 segments, did you use a total of 10 feet of thread (which was folded in half for a 5-foot length of thread on the needle)? Thank you!
I used at least 10 feet for the sculpting and it may be more like 12 depending on how big your pumpkin and how tight you pull your thread. I would pull out more thread till you get your formula. The other thing is sometimes I run out so I tie it off and just add another length of thread. Have fun! Here are some other pumpkins I made on my blog- www.gardenhousestudio.com/painting-diy-fabric-pumpkins/
Thank you! My husband was about to throw out a bunch of his old flannels and I said wait I’m going to make pumpkins! 😊
I love that! Have fun making them!

You are so welcome
Love these! I'll have to try with some flowery shirts!
Thank you Sue. The formula works with any fabric and when you sculpt it, it comes to life!
Nice!!!
Thanks! I love making pumpkins every year.
