Thanks. Great video, going to do exactly what you did!

Friends you can take off the cap over the motor with four screws and see the oil pump. But it’s a new style and less obvious if it’s working.

My saw's body filled with oil but I could not find any leaks in the oil tank, oil pump, or associated pipes, and it does not leak when in storage.
I am starting to question whether the problem relates to the spigot/nozzle (you call it a straw in this video) that is located at the end of the oil pipe. This supplies the hole (below the oblong seal) that feeds the bar with oil.
I suspect that when the bar's oil hole becomes clogged with sawdust, the pumped oil cannot enter the bar. However, that oil has to go somewhere, so it travels back down the outside of spigot/nozzle and into the saw's body. The spigot/nozzle does have a couple of tiny O ring seals, but I suspect that these cannot withstand the pressure.
The little flat round seals that are supplied with the oblong seal (part no. 600252), sit against the oil hole on the opposite side of the bar, where it connects with the mechanism that tensions the chain. These seals are liable to disintegrate when the saw overheats.
Thanks for producing these videos. The CS1400 and CS1500 saws are fantastic when they are working properly, and I do hope that the RUclips community can find a solution to these the oil feed problems.

@@davidwilson4179 i understand although I’ve never heard of this problem before! Crazy. Maybe your rings aren’t sealed properly or like you said it can’t handle the pressure. But hard to know when that’s happening cause you have to open it up to see the oil mess inside, correct?

@@Jasonsdesignshop I sawed my way through a pile of wood watching oil being used, and imagined that the chain was being lubricated. However, when I put the saw down I noticed oil was coming out of the casing. That led to me opening the saw (first time), to find oil pooling inside the casing (both sides). Following a good clean up I used the saw again, and oil was being thrown off the end of the bar, which indicated that everything was once again working as it should.
@Life-gm2sj mentioned in your 2-year review that his saw was leaking oil all over the place, so I am not alone in seeing this problem.

@@davidwilson4179 Oh I don't remember that comment. So This could be a new issue to watch out with these saws if your issue is not a one off. Well, someone who has the problem is going to have to try and solve it and share it with everyone else on a channel like this one that has lots of comments about this saw. If it happens to me I will definitely make a video about how I solved it if I even could.

@@Jasonsdesignshop My saw has done plenty and doesn't owe me anything, so I have today modified it to see if I can improve the oil flow and/or prevent blockages. The chain tensioning mechanism, which is attached to the opposite side of the bar to the oil hole, has a locating dowel that enters that oil hole from behind. That dowel has a raised rim, which causes it to needlessly occupy the bar's groove and potentially restrict oil flow. I have therefore filed the top off the dowel, which now continues to serve its purpose, but leaves the groove unblocked. This will hopefully leave more room for the oil to flow and may reduce the risk of blockages. I will post an update in due course.

do you still recommend this saw for very occasional use like once a year to cut some firewood (1 or 2 cords worth) ?

Yes, but let it rest every 15 min don’t let overheat or plastic parts inside will melt.

@@Jasonsdesignshop The plastic melted and deformed where the motor comes through onto the chain side. Still works, but skewed. Madness.
