oh wow the end, congratulations that’s a big big accomplishment, i struggle so much from hearing people puke but you were able to overcome it, so it makes me feel like i can also overcome this phobia, little by little, because i feel so bad when one of my loved ones is sick but i run and can’t take care of them

That is also an area of guilt for me. I don't want to run away from my loved ones who may need help or comfort. I've managed to be able to force myself to be in the room with them, but I still have a hard time getting too close. If I have children one day, the last thing I want to do is run when they need their mom. I'm taking care of this issue now, so that doesn't happen. I'd be devastated if I let myself, otherwise.

Wow. I never knew this had a name, but I absolutely have this. Mine stems from some childhood trauma, so as long as I can remember, I have actively avoided anything and everything that reminded me of it. I couldn't watch shows (or had to turn away and close my ears) that had it shown or heavily implied. I 100% could. not. talk about it as a kid. I still get sweaty, chills, trembles, and nearly faint when I think I might be sick. I have a TV in my bedroom to help keep my mind occupied nights when I don't feel good, as nights are the worst for me. A couple years ago, I got a bad stomach flu and I was 100% by myself when I got sick, and it forced me to confront some of these things. I'm very slowly trying to get better, but it's still very scary for me.
I was actually a bit worried just watching this video (especially just after having lunch) would set me off - but it didn't, and I'm so glad you're talking about this. I'm near tears hearing you talk about your hospital visits and not running away, because I know, currently, that would be so incredibly hard for me. Thank you so much for sharing your story 💜

I'm so sorry you struggle with this, too. 😔 I used to be the same way as well with TV shows. I still struggle with going to sleep if I don't feel well, and nighttime is also hard for me for this reason. I get scared that I'll wake up and be sick. In fact, last night I had phobic dreams. It took me a bit to go back to sleep when I woke up from them. 🥺
I'm so glad that my video could help and didn't trigger you. I hope my experience can show you that you can get through this too. This journey is all about internal work, so falling back with no progress to physically see can be the hardest part. It sounds like you have made some progress, though, since being a child, which I hope shows yourself that there is hope and that you can do it. 🩷

@@AngelBabyKittyPrincess thank you 💜 you sometimes truly don't realize how much of your life is centered around avoiding a phobia until someone points it out. I'll get there one day, and I'm for sure going to try the humming trick. 💜

100% understand thinking how I feel when I'm about to ride a roller coaster and still being germaphobic from covid days. Adjust, adapt and live the life you want to.
