I think letting Claypool go with no cap / dead money hit via Miami trading for him from Bears, and Dolphins failing to develop him as well softened the blow 😅
Bills will regret trading away Diggs more so than Chitown trading for Chase two years ago

Diggs is significantly more expensive, older and an even bigger cancer than Claypool. Plus when the Bears traded for him they were right around .500 so the pick was unknown in the 2nd round.

@@Mike-sg2xv That would be a solid point IF Diggs didn't think of himself as a WR1. Diggs thinks he's going to get 150+ targets and cash in for a giant payday next season ..... but he's in for a rude awakening on an offense that should be more balanced than ever. This is a one year rent-a-player situation where the rented player is almost assuredly going to be an unhappy distraction before the playoffs. I'm not even a Bills fan but Diggs constant unhappiness is absolutely exhausting and I've never even rooted for any of his teams. He's overpaid and over targeted, declining, and desperate to hit the open market. A rude awakening is in his future.

@@user-xg4lo2uk7k well they did wipe away 3 years left on his deal meaning he’ll be free agent next year so even if he complains or whatever they’re just gonna have him for 1 season. So basically he’s on a prove it deal with his play on the field and his diva stuff. But as a Texans fan I think it’ll be alright they have the most potential to win a ring now, at least on paper, and i personally think he’ll see that it’s highly likely they can get it done.

Seems like the non-Bills' media is years' late on their takes. White, Poyer, Hyde, Morse, and Diggs have been absent, on IR, or in decline for quite a while now. The 2023 Bills already took the hits, moved on, and rebuilt around different players. Their late win streak, AFC East title, and playoff run were not led the guys they cut.

  • @CaptainBerz

A few ways to think of this. It basically takes another team out of the WR talk for the draft. So it helps them there. They eat $3m this year more, but long term free up space. They get the headache out of the way early on, instead of like what happened at training camp last year. And in the end, they get compensation for a WR that looked washed the second half of the season and playoffs last year. They will draft a WR and be fine.

Let's see how this goes when he's looking at free agency and is getting #2 WR targets on a team that has 3 solid options and also likes to run the ball. Talent wise, it's a good add. I feel like he's a much bigger pita than pubically understood, or BUF wouldn't have moved off him like this.

Diggs is still a top 10 receiver in the league. The 2 year deal is pefect for the dive WR. The biggest issue is: what defense in the NFL can handle Collins, Dell, Diggs, Schultz, Mixon, and Stroud when they are on the field at the SAME TIME? I see it being a huge problem across the NFL.

Allen's success had something to do with Diggs but Allen broke out because of Daboll you can't ignore that. At the end of last season something changed Allen wasn't looking for Diggs as much as Shakir and Kincaid. Shakir spent this off season training with Eric Moulds. Beane has a plan, now next years draft just got a whole lot more interesting Buffalo has 1 first round pick and 2 second round picks as draft capital. Lastly before you write off Shakir he was the offense at Boise State that may not be the SEC but it's the conference Allen played in.

I believe the BS, attitude, locker room- narrative is overblown. This trade happened because:
1)Stefon's play is in decline and he's over 30.
      2) This year's WR class is extraordinarily talented and deep.
      3) The Bills have draft capital, and how have an extra 2nd round pick to play with. That's not enough to trade in to the top 10, but enough perhaps to trade with Rams #19 and leapfrog a few AFC Rivals who are also seeking WR1's.
      4) Other NFL teams have had success immediately plugging and playing good rookie WRs.

The Texans need OL, they need a secondary, they need LBers, they need draft picks, they don’t need a 3rd receiver.
Collins might be a one, dell might be a one, diggs might still be a one. There is one ball.
The OL is junk (source: PFF), the draft picks are sparse, and they are leveraging very hard on winning now. This will be a disaster if it doesn’t work to the tune of multiple Super Bowl wins.
I’m a Texans fan, i certainly hope it works, but they are paying a lot (and folks are glossing over the payment). Could win 3-4 games next year, stroud is not proven, dell could break completely, Anderson isn’t worth the cost yet.

It's a bad move for the Texans. They already have enough talent at WR such that Diggs is not going to get the targets he needs to pacify him. With a decent running back that offense didn't need another WR, let alone one who is guaranteed to bring friction to the team. I'm saying this assuming Tank is coming back 100%.

    • @joepermenter7228
      @joepermenter7228 2 месяца назад

He never bitched when Cousins threw it to Thielen and this is the NFL, WR's go down every year, which is also why Diggs is valuable as hell. He's literally always on the field. I'd say it hurts Collins as an alpha player he was materializing into last year, but who better than a pro bowler than to learn some new tricks from to get better. This trade was a bank heist by The Texans when you consider Stroud's continued success and consistency given how young Dell and Collins still are and what I already mentioned.

I wouldn't want him anywhere near a young developing QB. Give me Keenan Allen who is a locker room glue guy for a 4th rounder all day if I'm HOU. Even if they would have had to give up a 3rd rounder HOU would have been better off with Allen given what they already have at receiver.
