Ok, I think I've solved the whole problem with "Dance With Me Tonight", "Dear Future Husband", and "Runaround Sue" sounding so similar: All three songs chronologically tell a story from the perspective of 3 different characters. Dion was Runaround Sue's last boyfriend and is warning other guys to stay away from her. Olly is the new love interest who doesn't listen and makes the excuse that all he wants is one night to convince her he's a good guy. Meghan (as Sue) agrees to go out with Olly but gives him a list of ultimatums if he wants to be in a serious relationship with her.

People need to relax. There are only so many musical notes you can use in music..i mean music has been around forever but I do admit Meghan Trainor did use this exact beat with very similar vocals, but get over it. There are only so many musical notes you can use in music..i mean music has been around forever but I do admit Meghan Trainor did use this exact beat with very similar vocals, but get over it. If you don't like what she did, oh well, its done with. Just listen to a different song or something.

Calling her unoriginal is completely fair tho, because the two songs sound EXACTLY alike. Now, the fault probably falls on whoever produced the song, but it's still a pretty blatant rip-off.
***** fine, then it's the fifties. It's hard to make a truly original pop song tho, considering most of them use the four-chord song structure and when blended together all sound exactly the same. (Some music group actually pointed this out but I can't remember their name.) Either way, it's not that much of a stretch to call out Trainor (or whoever produced the song) for it sound exactly like Olly Murs' song, just like how people called out Katy Perry's "Roar" for sounding exactly like Sara Bareilles' song "Brave."
Mary Campbell I agree with you. Inspiration is needed in music and she didn't just take his beat. She tweaked it quite a bit i may add and gave it her own feel. I life both songs.
