Love this review~ I saw someone else say the side pockets being for an umbrella already, but something else i thought to mention was that the covers over the zippers are meant to help keep your bag rain proof/so water doesn't leak into your bag
That's an interesting way to look at it, thanks for sharing :) I saw the comment about fitting an umbrella and I had to try for myself. It's such a tight fit though (unless my umbrella is a little too chunky lol) but I suppose that it can be used for that purpose. But thank you for your comment!
I agree with the strap length, it would be nice if they would make them longer. I ended up sticking with the regular sized kanken so it would fit better on my back
Great review! The side pocket is actually for an umbrella, from what other reviews have said. They thought it was odd that a water bottle doesn't fit, it's meant for an umbrella.
It's good to have reviews like this where you get the cons too. I have been wondering about what colour to get if I did get it. I think I'll have a look in store first.
Thank you for your honest review. I haven’t own one yet but I found the same taste as you as this bag will look good at all time when I go out city tour taking nice pictures with a nice summer dress etc. I don’t see this bag will stay remain clean look and very much the style of school girl look. But I still like the idea of giving a lot of space for mom mini bag.
I saw another review on a regular Kanken & the lady just didn't put the rain flaps down,(she left them in the up position) because she said she liked it better that way.... Maybe you should give that a try. I have a regular Kanken in the super grey color & have not had any fading. i've had it a couple of months now & I just LOVE my Kanken. I can really fit a lot of stuff in it! I was thinking of getting a mini for every day & using the Classic Kanken for travel.
I honestly think that the problem is with the black color... I'm strongly considering getting another one in a different color to try it out :) thank you so much for the comment!
Hi I enjoyed your video❤️ I agree with all of your cons for this particular bag. I have the Kanken sling in the ochre color. That beautiful yellow color looked worn within a week. I then purchased the black sling with the leather trim and it is made from different material. Because of the material that is used on the leather trim one it has worn beautifully and it does not look faded. One con that I do see is that it collects lint. 😂 Welp, can’t win em all. Thanks for a lovely vid🥰
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this video :) thank you for the lovely comment ❤️ even though the bag has its cons I find myself using it quite often lol I guess you learn to live with some shortcomings
My first kanken just arrived yesterday. So excited. It's been my dream bag for so long and finally decided to get it. And already try umbrella pocket since it was raining. I can easily fit my water bottle and coffee for work with other usual stuff i would put in the bag
That's so awesome :) Thank you for sharing! I just tried putting an umbrella inside the side pocket and it's a little tight so not sure if I'll personally use it for that purpose but I'm glad that it works for you. You bought the mini right? Because mine also doesn't fit a water bottle.
I really appreciated your review! I am currently thinking of purchasing one, but wasn’t completely sure. We are the same height so the strap length is something that would bother me. Knowing what you know now, would you still have purchased it?
Hi! I still think that it’s a great backpack for the price. It’s a really good size and has a very nice casual feel to it. I’m not sure of other options that compare unless you’re considering like a longchamp mini backpack which I think would be the closest style but also pricier ($125). I’m not sure if I’d go with black again though. It just looks so worn out! But I’ve seen some cute colors like baby blue, grey and yellow :) so to answer your question, I think it’s still worth it if you’d like to add a mini backpack to your bag wardrobe.
Ladies u need to look into the Kipling City Pack mini they have so many colors and for materials I think the nylon ones are t he best and will last you for years and years I recently found my Fanny pack from them that I had while in middle school and let me tell you all I had to do was wash it and let it air dry and bam it looks brand new all my friends where like omg they are making that’s style again and I said no this is the one u had as a kid lol and they are like omg that looks like you just got it lol
@@thalio03 thank you for sharing! I’ve definitely seen that brand around but completely forgot about it. I took a quick look at the Kipling mini and it’s nearly the same size as the Kånken except it’s slightly wider by 2 inches. Not sure if that’s significant or not while wearing it. But thank you for bringing it up :) I’ll do a little more research later
@@SassyKarol omg trust me it’s like a Mary Poppins bag so mu VC can fit even if there are super small like the Kipling Alber but my fave would have to be the city pack mini perfect for everyday / theme parks and so many pockets 😍🥰 and hope to see a review one day 🤩🥳
Im happy I didn't go with black I heard everyone had problems with it say catches lint and gets dirty quickly i got acorn mini no.2, put Keychain on zipper it will help opening
I can’t help myself. I have an original mini kånken and mine looks so tiny. I’m 5’8 and my husband says it doesn’t look good on me. I love the mini, but on every video I’ve seen on YT, they all look bigger. Are there two mini sizes? 🤔
Hi! I'm not sure, perhaps you can measure yours and compare the sizing against the description of the minis available now? That's what I had to do with my longchamp tote to confirm what size it really is lol

IT'S LITERALLY LIKE A BLACK HOLE!! lOVE IT!! JUST ORDERED THIS EXACT ONE TODAY!

I feel like the regular sized bag is also very very popular and not overly big so it’s a good option for the longer strap length for sure
@@SassyKarol do you think the regular sized would like weird to carry to work? I had problems with mini backpack straps too
@@liljay0438 definitely not! Reg size is totally fine :)

No way! Really?! Lol I’ll give this a try and get back to you with whether or not it fits my umbrella 😂

I'm glad that my review was useful :) thank you for the comment
Very helpful review. My mini became my art bag. The sling holds a personal size bible - such as a Schuyler PSQ.
I have this in peach pink and love it.. very compact and also fit my iPad Air.. and easy to carry for day trips or anywhere hands free
I'm glad that you love it :) I actually ended up buying a second bag in the blue color. Have to make an updated review soon
@Sassy Karol can't wait to see Yr review!

You're welcome :) please let me know if you experience any fading with it. I'm quite interested to know how other colors do
Hi, I love your kanken, I put my phone and sunglasses on the side packets.
Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing :)
i want the mini! it looks cute!
I actually like the flap over zipper for security .

I'm 5'9 tall and I've been wanting to buy a kanken mini. After this video I got discouraged because of the handles. Do you like mini?
Omg pls do a review on the Kipling ( City pack Mini )
I don’t own a Kipling yet but if I do purchase it I’ll be sure to make a video :)
@@SassyKarol u will love them I’m obsessed with the Kipling city pack mini the classic crinkle nylon material
it will be prefect if they could make the strap longer
Agreed!!
This one is the m size? 16l?
Kisses from brazil hehe 😅
Hi! Sorry for the delayed response. I'm not familiar with another name for its size other than it being a mini 🙈 kisses from the US 🥰
What’s your height?
I’m 5’5”
what is color ?
It’s black :)
Good for the ladies. But not for guy. However if i have my own kids, i will let them wear the bag.
If you’re going to do a review of a product google the pronunciation! 🙄
Noted! Thanks for the feedback :)
I'm sorry this review was not good. Do your research such as what the material is and maybe Google the brand. This was just terrible.
Thanks for the feedback!
