i also am a victim to shaken baby syndrome. i have whats called sheering of the brain. but i was lucky enough that all i got in return was depression. panic disorders. and a sever learning disorder. and my father was to blame for this and sad thing is he never served not a day in jail for it. and he denies that he ever did any of the sort. its my mother that has told me the truth. and the doctors said from the x rays. that yes i was shook. and now i am almost 40 single depressed. have panic attacks. a sever learning disorder. all thanks to my father. so i feel for those children that have suffered the same fate. abusive parents dont always think about how there actions can ruin someones life. and now i have to live with it.
Sorry that happened to you. No offense, but I really wish that people who shake babies, like your father did to you, should be sentenced to the ELECTRIC CHAIR. I too pray for those children as well as new babies born into this world that are in the best of care.
@@wolfgang1097 ya its a shitty thing but i think of it this way the most painful thing that i could do to my shit bag father is to cut all contact with him so he never hears from me. and i also took a step further and moved 3000 miles away.

@@RelaxingMusic-wp8rm it won’t if you gently walk around, make sure to support the neck and head. If you aggressively shake your baby to where there head bobs when you shake it then that can cause shaken baby syndrome.
If the baby cries and you are so annoyed that you could die, wear headphones, Idk - anything better than permanently damaging your baby or even risking your baby's life!
You need to find out what's bothering them if they're crying. It could be anything such as being hungry or even a dirty diaper. They don't do it just to annoy you or to get you aggravated.
And don’t die before legally passing the baby to a responsible person or couple.

@nowat4987 Well, there is if you don't try to find out what's wrong with them. I'm not saying that you can't take a break from your child. Everyone needs a break sometimes. But you can't just put in headphones when your baby is crying. I have nothing against using that on an older child who's crying to get what they want. But it's different with an infant because they don't just cry for no reason. They could be hungry or need their diaper changed, as I said before, and you can't just let a baby starve or leave them in a dirty diaper in those situations. Besides, that's disrespectful to your neighbors if you don't try to do anything about the crying and you need to be considerate of them too.
i just cannot imagine even getting to a point to shake a baby. I helped raise my little siblings and practically raised our littlest sister bc my mom would force us to watch her for HOURS everyday (sometimes the entire day....shes lazy). It was frustrating sometimes, it is stressful, but i'd never wanna harm them. Poor babies for going through this
No matter how frustrated you are never ever ever ever ever shake a baby this could harm them super badly they could even die and these cute poor sweet innocent little angels have so much to live for so please don’t ever shake a baby or any other abuse in fact no matter what the age NEVER EVER EVER shake a baby

I’m so scared my parents didn’t want to take care of my sister so I had to raise her at 18, I hated taking care of a baby that I never gave birth to so I got extremely upset when she cried a lot, I unfortunately admit that I’ve shaken her when she was months old, I didn’t know how harmful that was. she’s now almost 2 years old healthy, smart and happy. I just hope my fault won’t haunt her for the rest of her life, please tell me how long it takes for at least the minimum damage to appear. I want to know if she’s safe or not I can’t stop thinking about it.
Bro I was so lucky that this happened to me when I was a bit older, I am still permanently affected but in quite a minimal way, just need to take medication until 25 years old (Just a few more years)

unfortunately parents/caregivers mainly do it because they get frustrated when baby is crying too long and they think shaking baby will calm them down...

Just let the baby continue to cry. It is normal and crying won’t hurt babies at all.

@SuperiorAmericanGuy It’s not going to physically hurt them, but letting the baby cry instead of trying to find out what's wrong is neglect. If the baby is crying, they're crying for a reason, such as a dirty diaper or because they're hungry. There's a big difference between a non-verbal infant crying because they're hungry or they need their diaper changed and a two - or three year old fake crying to get what they want.
No baby ever got harmed from crying.
GENTLY PICK UP THE BABY AND ROCK THEM AND GENTLY TALK TO THEM TELL THEM STORIES READ BOOKS TO THE BABY. AS THE BABY START GROWING UP WORK WITH THE BABY BY HAVING LOTS OF FLOOR TIME ON A BLANKET MAKE TUMMY TIME FUN DO FUN EXERCISES CUDDLE TIME WITH BABY IS A GREAT WAY TO BOND

But what is explained here; It is a separate issue when parents hold their babies with their hands and rock them left and right, back and forth, up and down, due to a momentary anger and uncontrolled use of force... I rock my baby on my leg with a pillow on my feet. If gas pain occurs, I shake it in the blanket. If he wakes up from his sleep, I rock him in the crib. Even though these actions are sometimes rapid and rapid, they are never brutal or cruel... Shouldn't I even do this? Can the baby's brain really be damaged while swinging it on my legs? I got really worried. Because the baby is 7 months old and I do this every day...
As long as you’re shaking your baby gently and lightly I think it won’t cause SBS , better ask a doctor tho
