‪@evolutionspace_us‬ put their rocket Gold Chain Cowboy well past the Karman line and into space on April 22, 2023. Fortunately for me, I was asked to be their dedicated camera guy and video producer!
This S Motor Impulse rocket is 10 inches in diameter and weighs over 900 pounds. It accelerated to a maximum velocity of Mach 5.2 ( Around 4,000 miles per hour) in just a matter of seconds and continued onto an altitude of 124.5 kilometers (408,456 feet).
This Hypersonic rocket is Evolution Space's first rocket to reach space.

WOW! I'm just getting back into hobby rocketry, I would like to get my little niece and nephew interested. This was seriously impressive. We officially live in the age of privatized space flight, I know StarLink and all that, but seriously, this is exciting! Also, I just heard you mention The Honest John? I made the Estes mini version 8 years back, just found it again, needs some repair, but I want to chuck that spaceward again! I'm really looking forward to seeing your rocket and subsequent launch! Cheers man!

@DSIVXX That's awesome! I've always heard from older members in other hobbies that I enjoy that it is the younger generation(s) that will keep our hobbies/pastimes alive and well into the future. I believe in the importance of teaching this next generation(s) that there is so much more out there than just "mindless" and toxic multi-media consumption. That there is a better way forward and that they are so much more rewarding, fun, and satisfying. As I heard the other day: "Why continue to DREAM ABOUT IT, when you can BE ABOUT IT!"

These giant group collabs produce some fantastic rockets! I however am more of a DIY kind of guy. I won't achieve the same results but I will still feel the same measure of success!

“Slowing down to Mach 4” - (after hitting 5.2). It survived hypersonic speed plus how many gs? Pretty impressive construction with amateur rocketry.

It would be, but it's not an amateur rocket 😉

@@RocketVlogs I haven’t done rocketry since the 70’s. If you would be so kind as to explain what level this rocket is. I’ve been subscribed and watching your channel for a little while now and have been amazed at what model rocketry can achieve with the high power categories. I can watch the meets and launches for hours and it makes me want to get back into it. However, where I like, there isn’t a rocket club within a many hours drive. Or, unfortunately, an area I can launch low power rockets within guidelines. Loving your channel.
