What an UPGRADE ........Gurkha --- For those who are and need something different from the "CROWD". Great choice , INDIAN G WAGON. Great 4*4 capability and smashing road presence ( esp in this shade of ORANGE).
This guy cleared a lot of concepts and misconceptions about ground clearance, tyre sizes, off roading, SUVs, Features and Marketing. I appreciate this because I've watched thousands of videos from the top Auto-Channels and they don't talk about this stuff. They only hype the products and keep the customers confused instead of resolving thier concepts. Hats off to @guptarupam2009 and @DDS
I really loved the way this owner delivered confident comments which were supported by his knowledge. Believe me he can help anyone who is interested to buy this beast. Gurkha is underrated even though this motor is coming straight from Mercedes.
It's not coming straight from Mercedes but rather Force is an ODM for Mercedes and even Porche. Only Indian manufacturer to build engines for a foreign company.
@@TechVishwa4U Gurkha will remain underrated because contractually they're obligated to not sell too many, and because people won't see many on the roads they'll think it's not good as no one seems to be buying it. It's a vicious cycle. Engine's refinement aside, they still need a lot of work on the fit and finish of the body and interior design, to be truly taken seriously by majority of Indian buyers. Although, this particular iteration is by far their sleekest work, I home it's a happy harbinger of all that's yet to come from the Force Motors.

I was thinking the same. So many times he used the word THAR gives an indication how much he hates not having THAR. That seems either jealousy or he is a salesperson. (I own a Thar and I am very happy with it, I will never compare it with Gurkha)
It's going to be hardcore solo Himalayan offroading but would also like to use it as a car for a family of 4 for city use and family holidays in the plains.
Amazing owner. He knows his stuff. I feel Force can improve the interiors. Steering & dash looks like it has done 60K kms in rough conditions. When you are paying upwards of 14 lakhs the experience has to be good. Hope Force takes this feedback and improves the vehicle. Overall I feel Gurkha is underrated and Thar is overrated. One is a G wagon and the other Wrangler copy. ( fun fact :Mahindra licensed Jeep’s in the 60’s and Force has a MB engine from the 80’s)
What I like about both these cars is they have authentic engineering history with their respective inspirations, and are not cheap replicas as many people assume them to be. It's this history that has ensured that similarity is not just limited to appearance, but also continues in the capabilities of both the cars.
The fact of the matter is that Gurkha struggles on highways. It is heavy and takes lot of time to pick up. Going beyond 100 Kmph on Gurkha is a struggle. If you do lot of off-roading in high altitude cold temperature then Gurkha becomes very useful. Definitely not your everyday city car.
This is one major reason for not choosing it, the company should bring back the xtreme's engine, and then Gurkha will not have any major drawback, again considering what the Gurkha is meant to do. Highway drives cannot be neglected by most of the Indians, and its a facts
Gurka is good only where the temperature is from -20 to 3 degrees like in leh Ladakh parts of Himachal where u cannot drive above 80 .not for highways hard suspension poor agronomics is always an issue
I drove it recently on a state highway. The vehicle is fine in the 100-110 category with a steering that is a pleasant surprise on highway. There were a few dips in the highway of which Gurkha made a quick meal. 110+ and you feel the vehicle vibration s which is natural as the top speed is 120 i think. But having driven Thar I felt the same discomfort of the vehicle around 120+. Having said that I am myself an easy going driver so like to remain in 90-100 range. My advice test drive both that and Gurkha on the same day when you decide to buy. My choice is clear after driving both !
1. SUV is not designed for high speed driving. 2. SUV is designed for heavy duty operations like towing. 3. SUV structure is rigid to protect in case of fall from height. 4. SUV meant to driven on surface where other vehicle cannot be driven. (Army Tank is exception.) If your vehicle looks like SUV but cannot satisfy above 4 basic point, just call it hatchback with higher GC (Creta, Seltos, Nexon Ecosport, Harrier) or MUV (seven seater like XUV700). Do not waste money on such marketing gimmicks.
We own the force cruiser, which is nearly the same thing but just little big and commercial purpose big sister of gurkha. Engine and transmission is just the same thing. We have owned the previous cruisers aswell and the new one and there's a lot of change. One thing for sure the self start of our cruiser is much better than even our ertiga!! We havedriven the previous cruiser 3 lakh km and and then sold it. The next owner drove it over 1.5 lakh km. The car's engine is still just as new!!
The guy has smartly sorted his priorities. He knows about his vehicle. But still, Gurkha is overpriced. There are compromises in fit and finish that should not be there at this price point.

Personally speaking - the car is soo good looking but the interior and essential things like electronic ovm, manual fuel cap and all are missing... If force will work on that it'll be one of the best ✨
As I see, people who buy vehicles of this segment really do not fascinate about electronics. More there are, more will be problems. EOVMs are likely to get damaged while offroading, hence we are probably better off having the old fashioned manual ones, thereby saving that expenditure.

Magnificent! Loved the review. I think the Gurkha gets a lot of hate from Thar Fanboys. But reality mein it's a more complete car. More power se zyaada usable power hoti hain. This is not a sports car, don't expect it to be one. I like how 75HP in Bolero is 'enough'. And 90HP somehow is very low. It's a great family touring vehicle with slightly more money than the Bolero.👌

Mushkil hai, engine aur many other components same hai Gurkha / Trax aur Traveller ka, yeh saarey 12-13kmpl hi mileage deti hai. R&D ke liye bahut costs hai, sirf Gurkha ke liye mushkil hai.
Love this Machine. But still could not make my mind to buy a diesel SUV. These are wonderful machines and to spend this kind of money for 10 year life of a diesel car in Delhi is something thumbs down for me. Auto co should push Govt to at least allow diesel car for 15 years.
The amount of justification given by owner was very impressive kudos to owner I really surprised when rupam ji said technical about clutch, engine, exhaust, wheelbase,tyre section in Gurkha there itself I'm sold to this car it seems more practical for our purpose fulfilling car ever force has produced.

Just one correction - not after, but BEFORE. When someone decided to put in that amount of money into a product which many have not so good things to say about, lots of research and groundwork needs to be done before the decision.

Watched the entire video peacefully once again. What a solid ownership review you made DDS Ravi-ji. We must congratulate you 💐💐👌👌🙏🙏 DDS Ravi-ji is little more taller than me (I am just 6 feet), but almost of same frame. And entering the Gurkha from rear door was also easy for him. I guess Ravi-ji didn't face any hindrance at all. I also didn't face any trouble occupying the rear passenger seats. Even my wife (bulkier than average indian women) didn't face any problem. One thing I noticed than the steering wheel was not getting struck between Ravi-ji's leg. Hence I am now pretty sure there must be a proper sitting position for me either. I was facing a proper position problem due to large size of the steering.
Thar acchi hai but overrated hai , aadhe se zada log toh thar ko offroading ke liye use karte hi nahi jiske liye vo bani hai , ab that bas ek expensive fashion accessory ban kar reh gai hai
One of the best detailed video. About Gurkha, it's the only vehicle in India with differential locking system and all terrain capabilities. Force vehicles are so durable that due to its durability they were the first choice of Smugglers, Mafia as these vehicles can be taken to the places where there are no roads. I think, this car only make sense for enthusiasts. Else for Normal day to day life, no body needs 4x4(4x4x4 in gurkha 🙂) Even Mahindra thar is not a car for every one. But now a days people are mad about thar and every second person with some extra money is purchasing thar. 😀 But this guy knows what he has purchased and have very good knowledge about this car 👍👍 All the best Rupam and i wish you drive this car for atleast million of miles 🍻
Thank you Dheeraj. I agree, many would find the Gurkha difficult to be a primary/daily use car. People are mad about Thar because of social media fame and "bhedchaal", nothing else - we buy cars based on our needs, and maintain them well, unlike many these days ... unfortunately.

Ravi bhai, the owner seems to be biased towards Gurkha and this happens when you buy a Product. I was also driving Alto K10 for over 11 years with 1 Lakh and 15 thousand kilometers. Upgraded to Thar Petrol Manual and loving every-bit of it. I have driven it at 110 kmph on good roads and there was no issue with ride quality. That Road did not have any undulations and it was from Barwana to Chandigarh highway. Boot space is less in Thar but whom so ever will be buying it would know that That is a 4 Seater car only. When I test drove Gurkha, I did not feel connected with the driving quality. The Brake bite is longer than Thar plus from the floor, there was a constant humming noise, the only reason I ditched Gurkha was because of the Service Support. Mahindra will try to offer the best support it can and has more service centers compared to Force. I am waiting for next gen Scorpio/Gurkha 5 Seater (Hoping that they launch 2.2L Engine) and 4 Door Thar.

I've worked for Force motor, Well maintained Force engine will do more than 6lakh to 10 lakh kms easily, Particularly in Traveller and Trax range.

No roof mounted rear ac unit on this car. That is badly needed for vehicle of this size.

Personally speaking - the car is soo good looking but the interior and essential things like electronic ovm, manual fuel cap and all are missing... If force will work on that it'll be one of the best ✨
As I see, people who buy vehicles of this segment really do not fascinate about electronics. More there are, more will be problems. EOVMs are likely to get damaged while offroading, hence we are probably better off having the old fashioned manual ones, thereby saving that expenditure.

Magnificent! Loved the review. I think the Gurkha gets a lot of hate from Thar Fanboys. But reality mein it's a more complete car. More power se zyaada usable power hoti hain. This is not a sports car, don't expect it to be one. I like how 75HP in Bolero is 'enough'. And 90HP somehow is very low. It's a great family touring vehicle with slightly more money than the Bolero.👌

Mushkil hai, engine aur many other components same hai Gurkha / Trax aur Traveller ka, yeh saarey 12-13kmpl hi mileage deti hai. R&D ke liye bahut costs hai, sirf Gurkha ke liye mushkil hai.

Love this Machine. But still could not make my mind to buy a diesel SUV. These are wonderful machines and to spend this kind of money for 10 year life of a diesel car in Delhi is something thumbs down for me.
Auto co should push Govt to at least allow diesel car for 15 years.

Love this Real Monster...Come to Upper Shimla Hills There are So Many Roads to Test It's Capabilities of off roading and Up hill Drive Etc...and force Company Vehicals are Doing Great Job Here Mostly Trex and after 10 to 12 People Sitting in it Sometimes it's tough to take pass frm trex in Up Hill 4lane Hi-Way... 🙏🙏

DDS Ravi-ji is little more taller than me (I am just 6 feet), but almost of same frame. And entering the Gurkha from rear door was also easy for him. I guess Ravi-ji didn't face any hindrance at all. I also didn't face any trouble occupying the rear passenger seats. Even my wife (bulkier than average indian women) didn't face any problem.
One thing I noticed than the steering wheel was not getting struck between Ravi-ji's leg. Hence I am now pretty sure there must be a proper sitting position for me either. I was facing a proper position problem due to large size of the steering.

Thank you Dheeraj. I agree, many would find the Gurkha difficult to be a primary/daily use car. People are mad about Thar because of social media fame and "bhedchaal", nothing else - we buy cars based on our needs, and maintain them well, unlike many these days ... unfortunately.

Ravi bhai, the owner seems to be biased towards Gurkha and this happens when you buy a Product. I was also driving Alto K10 for over 11 years with 1 Lakh and 15 thousand kilometers. Upgraded to Thar Petrol Manual and loving every-bit of it. I have driven it at 110 kmph on good roads and there was no issue with ride quality. That Road did not have any undulations and it was from Barwana to Chandigarh highway.
Boot space is less in Thar but whom so ever will be buying it would know that That is a 4 Seater car only. When I test drove Gurkha, I did not feel connected with the driving quality. The Brake bite is longer than Thar plus from the floor, there was a constant humming noise, the only reason I ditched Gurkha was because of the Service Support. Mahindra will try to offer the best support it can and has more service centers compared to Force.
I am waiting for next gen Scorpio/Gurkha 5 Seater (Hoping that they launch 2.2L Engine) and 4 Door Thar.
