There should be an air pollution warning sign for the exhaust on that crane motor. Those green Hi-Vis vests might help. The orange ones they're wearing are a complete fashion disaster just waiting to happen. And there's what, 10 of them to do a job 4 of them could do easily. Don't they know there's a war on. I'll bet the bill is a hefty one. One would need a hard hat, safety specs and a Hi-Vis jacket just to look at it. Sterling effort Mike. Cheers
@@JBTEvans Explains it all council involved, best take a look at the council car park see who`s got the new cars i would guess somebody had a right back hander out of that 1.2 m
@@mimilocks i doubt it’s had no replaced features in 42 years. The road use here has changed since 1992 when the crossing was constructed. There was nothing on the other side of the line to the sea prior to the crossing being introduced, now there’s Tesco’s, McDonald’s, Morrisons etc, footfall and vehicle usage has gone up ten fold. Plus the new crossing doesn’t need to go down for loco moments around the station.
I can't believe the barriers could take a gale !! Especially £1.2 million ones !!
I loved the ride round Morrison's and back up Seaward Way ...
I liked old halogen lights

1.2m upgrade??? no way max donations from the public then purchase the cheapest sub standard barriers
Somerset county council pay for the crossing as the railway was there well before the road. Storm damage.

Very pointless to upgrade it, if it was in its old state this would not have happened
It was life expired. It needed replacing. Modern safety standards and road usage means it needs to be double barrier.
@@JBTEvans Not true, crossing nearby to me has had same equipment since 1980 and works fine.

@@JBTEvans Have spoken to other people who went to the crossing when it opened and was told nothing has changed. Only the track
@@mimilocks I very much doubt that
